Diamond Synergy Forskolin Review – Legit or Hype?
Diamond Synergy Forskolin is a supplement that claims to help you lose weight via forskolin, a plant-based ingredient they claim burns fat.
The supplement’s website is adamant about the supplement’s effectiveness, going as far as to say it’s “your start to a smoking hot body, the easy way!”
Diamond Synergy is the company behind the supplement. Our examination of the supplement’s fine print and through various searches and found that the name “Diamond Synergy” is exclusive to this supplement.
While we don’t know much about the company itself, there is a good deal of information about the supplement’s main ingredient: forskolin.
In this review, we’ll discuss how the supplement is claimed to work and then examine those claims through a filter of prevailing research and medical opinions. We’ll then describe the supplement’s pricing, as well as its return policy and its auto-ship policy.
We’ll close our review with a quick comparison of this supplement to similar forskolin supplements and a section on our general thoughts about the pros and cons of Diamond Synergy Forskolin.
How Diamond Synergy Forskolin Works
The company says that their supplement’s main ingredient is forskolin extract, an ingredient derived from a plant called the coleus forskohlii. Multiple sources note that the plant has long been used in Eastern medicine for a variety of conditions.
By taking two pills per day – there are 60 pills in one jar – Diamond Synergy says the amount of forskolin you take in will activate fat-burning enzymes. The one enzyme they mention on the site is called cyclic adenosine monophosphate, or cAMP.
In addition to activating these enzymes, the company claims that researchers “have confirmed that forskolin releases fatty acids from adipose tissue, more commonly known as fat.
The site goes on to say that, not only does this supplement help your body start the processes that burn fat, but that it also “supports healthy testosterone n both men and women, so you’re able to retain your muscle mass and even add to it.”
What the Research Says About Diamond Synergy Forskolin’s Claims
Based on our research of this supplement, we think there are two main claims: fat burning and testosterone boosting.
Healthline points out that the enzymes this supplement claims to activate travel to fat cells and basically open the front door so the stored fat exits. They note the same process happens when your body turns to fat to get energy.
Now, it’s important to remember that just because the enzymes burn fat doesn’t mean that taking any supplement will properly activate those enzymes.
Of great interest to us is the fact that the site claims a 2005 study done by the University of Kansas proved Diamond Synergy Forskolin burns fat. This seems to be the cornerstone of the scientific evidence they provide and, thus, is important to figuring if this supplement works how they say it works.
We found the study in question. It was published in 2005 in Obesity Research & Clinical Practice. Researchers by the name of Godard, Johnson and Richmond did a top-notch study (randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled) to find out if forskolin could help their 30 subjects lose weight.
We called Godard to get his view on the study’s results but did not hear back at the time of publishing.
After taking 250 mg of 10% forskolin extract two times a day for 12 weeks, the study concluded the results “indicate that forskolin is a possible therapeutic agent for the management and treatment of obesity.”
The main change in subjects, the study noted, was that body-fat percentages went down while the testosterone floating around in subjects’ bloodstream and lean body mass (weight from fat subtracted from total weight) went up. The study did not say that the subjects’ weight decreased.
Beyond this study there isn’t much out there to corroborate the conclusion or reinforce Diamond Synergy’s claims, Healthline said in their review of existing forskolin studies.
“Two studies have investigated the effect of forskolin on weight loss,” Dr. Tali Arnarson wrote. “In one of them, supplementation caused significant fat loss, but body weight remained constant.”
Based on the existing evidence, we think there’s a chance that forskolin could reduce your body fat percentage. However, remember that these changes took place in 30-year-olds who were overweight or obese, and that those changes happened via 250mg of 10% forskolin extract.
We were not able to find an ingredients list on the supplement’s website. We called customer service but were told that the customer service call center is a third-party company whose access to an ingredients list is limited to what’s on the supplement’s site.
Because of this, we can’t guarantee that forskolin will work for you in the manner Diamond Synergy claims it could.
Diamond Synergy Forskolin Side Effects
According to WebMD, forskolin can have serious side effects when you take it via injection (increased heart rate, decreased blood pressure) or you get it in your eyes.
The site didn’t list any side effects specific to supplement pills but they did point out that people on the following blood thinners and/or anti-platelet drugs should avoid forskolin:
- Calcium channel blockers
Pricing and Return Policy
At the time of writing, this supplement was available through the website on a 14-day free-trial basis. You’ll be asked for your name, address, phone number and email address to get the free trial.
However, once you give that info, you’ll be taken to a page where you have to enter your credit card information because you’ll need to pay a $4.88 shipping charge.
That’s not all you need to remember, though. The fine print on this payment page indicates that, if you don’t cancel your free trial within 14 days of your order, you will be charged $93.11 automatically at the end of the 14 days. Diamond Synergy will continue to send you a bottle every 30 days for $93.11.
This is what’s known as an “auto ship program” and ends up confusing and frustrating a lot of consumers. You can avoid this by calling them at 866-494-4731 the moment you don’t want another bottle.
And, keep in mind, the 14-day window you have to cancel the supplement before the $93.11 starts the day you buy the supplement, not the day you get it in the mail.
How Diamond Synergy Forskolin Compares to Other Forskolin Supplements
To give you an idea of how this supplement compares to others, we found a few of the highly-rated forskolin supplements Amazon. Here are their prices and ratings at the time of writing:
- Vitamin Bounty Forskolin Max Strength: $19.99, 4.2 stars from 1,304 reviews
- California Products Forskolin: $18.55, 4.3 stars from 979 reviews
Both of these products contain 20% forskolin extract, an amount that surpasses the 10% noted in the University of Kansas study that suggested forksolin could help with weight loss. Because the Diamond Synergy website and customer service couldn’t provide us with a list of ingredients, we think these two supplements provide a distinct knowledge advantage.
Second, Vitamin Bounty and California Products cost far less money than the $93.11 you’d pay for a monthly supply of Diamond Synergy.
Based on the data we presented in this section, we believe that the two supplements (and several others we saw on Amazon) offer better value.
The Final Word: Our Overall Thoughts About Diamond Synergy Forskolin’s Strengths and Weaknesses
When we consider all the information we gathered leading up to this review, we believe that there are some clear pros and cons to this product.
The strengths we see with this product are that you can try it for $4.88 for as many days as you have between the day you receive the supplement in the mail and the 14-day deadline that started the day you made your order.
While we imagine this window of time is brief because it could take several days for your order to process and ship, you’ll have enough time to know if your body has any reactions to the forskolin.
The downside of the supplement is two-fold, in our opinion. First, the price for the product is considerably higher than comparable products on Amazon. Second, the site nor the customer service department was able to provide us with any information about the supplement’s ingredients. It’s difficult for us to recommend a supplement that costs much more than competing products yet provides very little information about what’s in it.

It is a scam
I found out from my doctor that I cannot take this product because of a negative interaction with one of my medications.
Diamond Synergy would not take back unopened bottles of their product for a refund. The automatic shipping ploy is bad if you did not notice the fine print.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
