Is It Better to Work Out With a Partner?

Writing for IDEA Health & Fitness Association, Len Kravitz, Ph.D. reports, “Research suggests that 50% of persons starting an exercise program will drop out within the first 6 months.” Exactly why this occurs, Dr. Kravitz tells us, involves a complex set of multi-factorial behaviors that will be different for everyone, which is why there’s no simple solution that will work universally.

What Are Customers Saying About Beachbody In Their Reviews?

On the Consumer Affairs website, 180+ customers had given Beachbody an average rating of about four stars, with common compliments referencing ease of use, visible results, and solid value. What few complaints there were tended to reference billing issues, although a company representative responded each time.

Beachbody also held an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on 61 customer reviews (75 percent of which were negative) and more than 800 closed complaints, as of 11/8/17. Are There Other Partner-Based Fitness Programs Like Double Time Workout?

We didn’t encounter any other all-inclusive programs during our research that were exactly like Double Time, combining partner-based workouts (whether adults or children) with a nutrition plan, and without the need for any extra equipment.

However, searching for variations of terms like “partner fitness programs” and “partner workouts” returned dozens of results for different individual exercises, as well as complete programs—many of which were free. How can you decide whether or not Double Time is worth the money?

When choosing any new workout program, it’s important to start by speaking with your healthcare provider, who can recommend options based on your diagnosis and overall goals. From there, the Mayo Clinic recommends asking the following questions to help you narrow down your options:

What is your current fitness level? If you’re a beginner, you don’t want anything too challenging that could rob you of your motivation, or even result in an injury. But if you’re more advanced, a beginner program might be too easy and lead to this same motivation loss.

Do you have any health issues? Similarly, chronic medical conditions like arthritis, diabetes, or heart disease, as well as previous injuries, can play big roles in which programs are best, whether Double Time or a third-party option.

What are your goals? Are you looking to lose weight, increase muscle mass, boost your cardio capacity, or just get back into a habit of moving your body?
