If I could give it zero stars, I would. You enter in all your info to get car quotes, and all it does is give you links to popular insurance sites where you have to enter your information all over again. On top of that, I have been getting calls all day from random insurance companies. This site does absolutely nothing. You would be better off calling insurance companies directly.

  • EverQuote rip off - don't use them

    Overall Experience:

Their claim is that you will fill out one set of data only (that took me 15 minutes) and you will get up to 9 quotes without doing the data 9 times.

They also say that they will respect your privacy on your phone number and email, yet ten seconds after me pushing the button for "get quotes," I get a call from a screening agent in Kansas for Liberty Mutual and then have to give the same and more info to another person who is the licensed agent.

The EverQuote site also automatically defaulted to another company called The Zebra, who are also insurance brokers.

So, I have probably given out my telephone number and email to hundreds of insurance companies who paid these guys for the lead, and in spite of them promising to respect my privacy, I will get robocalls and junk mail forever on this.

When I got close to the end of trying to enter all my answers, I realized I wasn't going to get what I was expecting. Instead of receiving the "quote" I was promised, as soon as I got out of the maze of entanglements on the site, I began to get emails and calls from multiple insurers. Further, I began to get spam calls and emails from questionable websites, a lot of them porn-oriented.

I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed, and am very surprised that these people are allowed to advertise on Google sites.

    Overall Experience:

EverQuote claims they help with obtaining insurance by filling out your info and the insurance companies see it and quote you.

Yet the carriers ask for all the info again. The carriers inundate you with calls and emails asking for the same info over and over again.

Don't waste your time filling out the form; you will be bothered for days by carrier representatives asking for the same info over and over again. No way to stop it once they start.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Total scam!

Within minutes of filling out the basic questionnaire that claims to protect my privacy, I had insurance companies blowing my phone up! On top of that, EverQuote just directed back to my current insurer anyways, so obviously, I have already found myself the best rate before the stupid website stole my information and sold it to numerous insurance companies! Do yourself a favor and protect your own privacy, because these guys won't do it!

The website claims to protect privacy, which is UNTRUE!

The website claims to be 100% SPAM free, which is also UNTRUE!

    Scam!

  • Misleading ad by EverQuote

    Overall Experience:

On my newsfeed, I got what appeared to be a news story about two young math whizzes who found a way to help people save a lot of money on auto insurance.

It featured a photo of two college-age women and spoke of how most of us are paying way too much for auto insurance. It stated that they came up with a way to easily and quickly help you shop and get an immediate quote online from numerous companies.

After filling in a lot of specific personal information on the site, the system took you to three websites of well-known insurance companies, where they again required you to fill in all the same information I had just labored over. The most annoying part, however, was having my phone ring at the same time, almost within seconds, from local insurance agents pushing their companies.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Frustrating for the agents too

    Overall Experience:

Unfortunately, everyone seems frustrated by the process. Each agent is charged a decent fee for each of what are supposed to quality leads, and then when we call or send them quotes, they never respond, and we are continued to be charged per agent. It sounds like the potential client in inundated by agents and companies, when the lead is supposedly only sold to four agents at a time, so they end up upset, and everyone loses.

We don't ever do robo-dialing and are a small family based agency with personalized service, but the upset customer ends up so fatigued that they often never look at the quotes and get fed up with what it sounds like are far more than four agents calling. Then EverQuote does not want to refund us for a lead that really is not a lead anymore when the person then starts telling everyone that they do not want quotes.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Only promises, no delivery

    Overall Experience:

I was thrilled to see young people being innovative, so I asked for car insurance quotes. They said my information would be secure with them. I told them all about my car and my address and with which company I am presently insured.

Before I finished the entries, I started getting emails and phone calls from a plethora of insurance companies, all asking for all the same information I was typing for EverQuote.

I could have searched out all of these comparisons for myself. I thought this new company was volunteering to compare prices for me. All they did was give my email and phone number to many insurance companies. I am mad and stressed that I fell for their marketing.

  • EverQuote is no good

    Overall Experience:

EverQuote claims to shop all of the companies for the best price for auto insurance. So you don't have to go to each company and re-enter all of your information. This is not true! You still have to enter your information over and over again. I had several co-workers try it, and every single time the lowest quote came from Geico. This leads me to believe this is just a Geico sight.

    Overall Experience:

They lure you in with Clickbait, implying it's a "disruptive" technology. The truth is they just push your info to a spam machine. Each email arrives suggesting you have a quote, only it's not a quote, it's a cheezy URL to a website that starts you entering in the same info you entered into the original website. After endless spam emails and entering the same info over and over I still never got a real usable quote.

This is a waste of time, the type of fake business they use to sell to some dumb investors. No value whatsoever.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • EverQuote is not what I expected

    Overall Experience:

I went into EverQuote to find out some other options, and while I am happy with the service I have gotten from my current carrier on my car insurance, I am not happy with what I am paying. So I entered my info into EverQuote and then it gave me my options and I clicked on the first insurance company to find I had to enter all my info again! The same with the next insurance company option I clicked on.

I find this to be a major flaw in this website. The info should transfer over. I do not feel they are a true service. Just a referral company that supplies no real info. You don't get a quote until you enter your info a second time on the website of whatever insurance company you chose to click on from the list EverQuote gives you. So you're really having to search for the lowest cost yourself. I expected to get a rate from several companies that were the lowest not to have to keep searching. I can do that myself. I don't need the wasted time of entering my info into EverQuote only to have to enter it again and again elsewhere.

Just go to insurance company websites yourself and forget about EverQuote or any of the others as another insurance quote website I tried did the same exact thing. Useless.

Bombarded by phone calls, emails, and texts. Their marketing is built on mentioning that this company was started by two college guys that started this company and wanted to make something different. Nothing different about this company. They sell your information to anyone and everyone. Avoid like the plague.

  • Wasn't anything that it claimed or promised

    Overall Experience:

After reading their ad and the promising time savings provided by EverQuote by comparing insurance companies, I decided to see if they lived up to their promise. My first instinct was just another scam. Scam? Maybe? I'm definitely adding them to my scam list. With all my personal info and vehicle info added, I waited for my quote comparisons. They were quick, that's for sure. About 5 seconds, that's right 5 seconds to receive the "view quote" button for a single insurance company. As it stated, their featured insurance company.

    Where are the comparisons?

Total aggravation and like I stated, I am adding EverQuote to my scam list.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Overall Experience:

As someone that works in the insurance business, STAY AWAY from their website! Literally, don't enter any of your information. Your phone will blow up with different insurance companies that want to give you a quote within minutes. Then, your phone number will NEVER be deleted from their database, and you'll get a new quote every six months.

Insurance companies, STAY AWAY from their website! They will tell you that you're getting great leads from people that actually want insurance quotes. Then, 90% of the people you'll call have absolutely no idea how you got their information. They are understandably irate, and you're going to spend the majority of those calls getting screamed at. When you call EverQuote to voice your concern, they'll basically just turn it around and blame you for not doing your job correctly. When you ask how these people are entering their information, the answers will be vague, that is if you even get a callback.

Unprofessional, and a complete waste of your time and your agent's money.

I usually don't jump on something that seems too good to be true. This is my fault for being such a sucker.

Do NOT use the site. It's a waste of time, and moments after you submit your information, you get a phone call or two from an automated number. Complete crap. I should have read the reviews first. Stick with Esurance if you want to compare auto quotes. It's not a scam like this.

    Overall Experience:

I saw the ad on Cox and decided to try it, particularly since they were based in Oklahoma and I was considering changing insurance.

All they do is the same thing other companies do, collect your information and route you to other companies where you then have to input your information again as though you never gave it to EverQuote. After putting in my information, four companies were listed and each was a company I had seen before, and each wanted to have everything input again. All this does is put you on mailing lists and call lists. I have enough of those, thank you very much.

It is no different than the other companies who have the same service. It just adds another step in the process so they can make money.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I thought there was something or different special about this service, but I was wrong. I gave all the information and still had to repeat it all to all of the numerous calls I got. Plus, it appears they're really pushing for Progressive.

Don't bother using EverQuote, it just leads to more phone calls and spam.

    Overall Experience:

A pain in the butt. I entered all the information on all three cars to the EverQuote website, and then I get a list of a bunch of insurance companys saying "get a quote." When I go to each one, I have to give all the info over again and again and again.

  • Shameful, sneaky scam

    Overall Experience:

The forms required to fill out were repetitive and redundant and only accomplished a frustrating delay in providing the information advertised, i.e. a lower insurance premium. Even though I stopped filling out the forms when I saw a "red flag" asking for my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER and did not submit, I have been receiving emails and phone calls with information about reducing my car insurance premiums.

I don't understand your leaning towards this company in a positive way. Not to warn about the request for a social security number is a serious omission on your part. The CEO of EverQuote should be investigated for fraud.

I almost gave two stars but I couldn't. IF you wanted multiple people blowing up your phone to get you an auto quote ASAP, this might be helpful.

The reality is they promise an easy, quick comparison quote and it is none of those things. I'm concerned about who just got all my information.

It's too bad they are ruining their own business this way.

I thought I'd try this site and get some online quotes. Nope! All that's done is your email address and phone number are given to third parties. Then the calls begin and the spam hits your email. I used a private email address for this site so I know this site was responsible for the spam. I did not save any money. After three months I am still getting 10-20 spam emails a day. Thank goodness the calls stopped after about a week. I would not recommend this site.
