What Is Foam You?
Foam You is a dry foam deep cleaning product that claims to help you get rid of even the toughest messes. The manufacturer states that it is capable of handling the entire scrubbing, cleaning, and drying process in a matter of minutes thanks to its intuitive design.
The product’s commercial illustrates it being used to clean messes made from things like red wine, spilled food, coffee, dirt, and various condiments with ease. Its core functionality is two-fold; first, you have the dry foam concentrate that is applied to the stained area. From there, the applicator uses its dual-roller design to penetrate deep down into the fibers of the carpet.
Carpet isn’t the only material that the device can be used on, however; the manufacturer lists it as being ideal for upholstery items as well, such as messes on couches and chairs in your home, as well as for car seats and other upholstered vehicular surfaces.
Foam You is positioned as a true alternative to heavy-duty (and toxic) chemicals, as well as expensive equipment rentals and the potential water damage that can bring, but is this really the level of effectiveness you can expect from using the product in your home?
Is the Foam You Really Able to Make Stained Carpets Look Like New Again?
Once you apply the dry foam concentrate to the affected area, the idea is that the applicator brush will absorb excess moisture, ensuring that issues like mold and mildew aren’t able to crop up. From there, the manufacturer states that the concentrate activates millions of bubbles that dry in just moments, forming crystals that carry the mess to top of the carpet, allowing you to vacuum them away with ease.
The idea here makes sense to us, and we can certainly envision the product working as advertised. That said, we haven’t tested it out ourselves, and without doing so, it’s impossible to say for certain if this is what you will experience in practice when cleaning messes in your own home.
As most of us are keenly aware, certain types of stains can be notoriously tricky to get out. The manufacturer is careful not to mention that Foam You can remove any stain, but nonetheless, they do show the product taking care of messes from difficult sources like red wine and coffee. Of course, these examples are shown right after they happen; we do wonder how effective the product may be at handling stains that have been around for a while already.
Foam You Pricing & Return Policy
As of this writing, Foam You was available exclusively through the manufacturer’s main website for the product. It is sold as a mandatory double offer, meaning that you’ll be required to pay $19.95 + $15.90 P&H for two foam concentrate bottles and two scrubbers, bringing your grand total to $35.85.
As for the return policy, you’ll have a 30-day money back guarantee attached to your order, not including any shipping & handling fees. You’ll be required to pay return shipping should you decide to send the Foam You back for a refund.
Foam You vs. Similar Cleaning Devices
Looking around on both Amazon and Google, we were able to find a variety of different products that claim to eliminate stains from carpet using a similar foam applicator design. Many of these products utilized similar (but not identical) rolling pad designs, and in general, they were priced fairly similarly to Foam You per-bottle.
That said, virtually all of the products we encountered on Amazon were available in single bottle quantities; numerous options–like the Carbona 2-In-1 Upholstery & Carpet Cleaner, for instance–could be found for cheaper overall, coming in at around $10.83 as of the time of our research.
We also came across several products like the Resolve Easy Clean Pro which feature longer handles, allowing them to be used without actually having to bend over quite as far. At just over $22 on Amazon, this option may be ideal for those who have difficulty bending over frequently.
Ultimately, if you’re trying to decide which cleaning solution fits your needs, keep the following questions in mind going into your search:
- Do you own a vacuum already? For many, this answer will likely be yes, but if you don’t it’s important to factor this into your purchasing decision. Many products we found are similar to Foam You in that they rely on you having access to a vacuum to actually finish up the cleaning process. We were, however, able to find a few products with built-in vacuum solutions, though these tended to be much more expensive.
- How mess-prone is your household? As any parent or member of a larger family can tell you, things can get exponentially messier when there are multiple young ones (or pets) roaming around at all hours of the day. If you tend to deal with messes on an almost-daily basis, it may be worth it to look into products that are designed to be used in bulk, potentially saving you some money and time in the process.
- Be sure to read through the return policy. This is especially true if the product you are looking into is more expensive than others that are similar to it. If you find it doesn’t work as well as you’d hoped, you’ll likely want to be able to return it for a refund.
The Bottom Line: Our Thoughts on Foam You
At the end of the day, can you rely on the Foam You to get the toughest stains out of your carpet, upholstery and vehicle surfaces?
As we mentioned above, based on the product’s design, we can see it being able to perform as described in many situations, though without testing it for ourselves, we can’t state with any certainty that it will be exactly as effective as it is portrayed, especially on particularly difficult (or aged) stains.
In addition, though we weren’t able to find any verifiable reviews for the Foam You online, many of the competing products we encountered on Amazon featured hundreds, if not thousands of customer reviews in some cases. Based on our previous experience reporting on similar products, our readers tell us that having this extra peace of mind goes a long way toward informing their purchasing decisions.
All the same, if you’d like to give Foam You a try, be sure to keep the 30-day return policy in mind going into your order. If you find that it isn’t the right product for you and your family, you’ll be able to return it for a refund, as long as you’re okay with losing out on $15 and some change in lost shipping & handling fees in the process.
