Forskolin Keto Cycle Review
Forskolin Keto Cycle is a supplement featuring forskolin and a variety of vitamins. The product’s website provides no information about what the supplement can do, we believe it’s relying on the strength of forskolin’s reputation among supplement companies.
Since we know very little about this product, we’ll keep our review of it simple. What we’ll present here are four distinct sections that can help you understand if this product is right for you:
- The supplement’s ingredients and how they work
- What science says about forskolin
- Forskolin Keto Cycle’s costs and return policy
- Comparable products and pricing
At the end of our review, we’ll give you our thoughts on the general advantages and disadvantages of this product.
Forskolin Keto Cycle’s Ingredients and Claims
The product’s website shows a photo of the supplement bottle, which includes some of the supplement’s main ingredients on the bottle:
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin B complex
Each pill contains a 500 mg dose and each bottle contains 30 capsules – presumably a one-month supply at one pill a day.
Now, as we mentioned earlier, the website provides no information about how the supplement can help you nor does it make any claims about the supplement’s effectiveness or its specific uses.
So, to clear this up, we called the customer service phone number we found on the Forskolin Keto Cycle website: 1-800-470-8916. The phone representative we talked with told us that the supplement provides the following benefits:
- Burn fat
- Increase energy
- Boost metabolic system
- Helps you lose weight
He went on to tell us that some of their customers are following the keto diet, some work out and some people take the pills in conjunction with a diet.
From this, we concluded that the pill has no specific use for keto diets or any relation to the keto trend other than the name.
As for the ingredients listed on the bottle, the most interesting one is forskolin, as it’s most likely the reason why the phone rep told us that the pills can help you lose weight.
What the Research Community Says About Forskolin
Forskolin has been around for a few years now. In fact, the ingredient burst onto the proverbial scene around 2014, at which point we wrote a forskolin guide to some of the big claims that companies made about the ingredient’s origins and ability to help you burn fat.
Basically, forskolin is a plant that’s in the mint family and has long been used in Eastern medicine.
“Most often used for heart-related problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and angina, forskolin has traditionally been thought to be an effective treatment for asthma, convulsions, and painful urination as well,” our article notes.
As for its effectiveness in promoting weight loss, there’s little evidence that is the case, according to our research.
Our research found that there are two clinical studies about forskolin. Only one of them as a peer-reviewed study about the effects of forskolin (“peer review” means other researchers have vetted the results). The University of Kansas’ Sport and Exercise Department published the results of their study in 2005.
They concluded that the subjects in the test – overweight and obese men – did get better bone mass and testosterone but that none of the participants in the study lost weight.
Based on this, it’s hard for us to say that forskolin will help you lose weight, primarily because there, as far as we know, no peer-reviewed studies that conclude taking a forskolin supplement will help you lose weight.
Here’s what we noted about forskolin’s effectiveness:
“If we break all of this down, here’s what we’re left with: Based on just 2 clinical studies performed on this chemical, forskolin may help improve your body composition and could potentially help prevent you from gaining weight, but there is zero clinical evidence showing that it can actually help you lose weight. This is a small, albeit extremely important, difference.”
Along with this conclusion, we believe it’s important to point out that this same research didn’t provide any conclusion about a link between forskolin and keto diets. And, considering how effective keto diets are in helping you lose weight, we don’t believe there is a research-backed reason to add this supplement to a keto diet.
Forskolin Keto Cycle Price and Return Policy
At the time of publishing, Forskolin Keto Cycle was available through a two-step system that could be confusing to you.
To get your first bottle, you’ll provide the site with your address and payment info. This information will be used to send you a free trial bottle. When you continue the form, the site will ask for your credit card information.
At this point, it’s key to understand how the order processing works. Giving the site your shipping information and payment means they’ll send you a free trial.
The fine print notes, however, that the company will charge you $89.97 every 30 days for a continued supply of the supplement.
You need to call the company at the number we mentioned earlier in order to cancel the automatic shipments. Remember, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel the next $89.97 charge.
These auto-ship programs can be tricky, so we suggest calling to cancel within seven days of your purchase just to make sure you don’t forget. If you want to learn more, you can take a look at a video we created explaining auto-ship programs.
Comparing Forskolin Keto Cycle to Other Forskolin Supplements
If you believe that forskolin is a good ingredient for you or you’ve had success using it in the past, it will help you to understand where this particular supplement stands when it comes to pricing.
A 30-day supply is, as we pointed out earlier $89.97 a month. We went to Amazon to find out if there were any cheaper options. We searched “forskolin” and arranged the results by the highest customer ratings first.
The top three products were:
- Bio Sense Forskolin: $15.66 for one month supply
- California Products Forskolin: $19.55 for one month supply
- Vitamin Bounty Forskolin Max Strength: $19.99 for one month supply
As you can see, these three forskolin supplements are far cheaper than Forskolin Keto Cycle – about a quarter of the price, in fact. Keep in mind that Keto Cycle has multiple vitamins in it but those vitamins can come pretty cheaply via a multivitamin, making the three supplements we found on Amazon a better value, based on what we saw.
Our Concluding Thoughts About Forskolin Keto Cycle
There are three main factors about this supplement that we noticed during our research: the association between forskolin and keto, the effectiveness of forskolin in helping you lose weight and the $89.97 auto-ship price tag.
If you’re going to make a decision soon about buying this product, know that the use of “keto” in the supplement’s name doesn’t guarantee a link between the Forskolin Keto Cycle’s claimed ability to help you lose weight and keto diets.
Also, there are plenty of supplements out there that hail forskolin as an effective ingredient in helping you burn fat and, consequently, lose weight. However, the research we’ve done indicates that there isn’t much clinical evidence to support the claim.
Finally, we believe that other forskolin supplements provide better value, as they sell for less than $20 and provide 30 days of pills just like Forksolin Keto Cycle.
If you do choose to try this product, remember that it’s imperative that you call them within 14 days of your purchase to let them know you don’t want them to automatically ship you more product. Otherwise, the company will automatically charge you $89.97 at the end of 14 days.
If you want to do more research about supplements, then take a few minutes to read through our supplement buyer’s guide. We’ll help you understand how to make a smart choice no matter which pill you want to buy.
