About Garcinia Cambogia XT
Garcinia Cambogia XT is a weight loss supplement that’s claimed to provide rapid absorption for maximum results, and to be a fast way to burn fat and to help you reach your goals.
In order to accomplish this, Garcinia Cambogia XT is claimed to contain 50% hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that inhibits citrate lyase within your body, which a key enzyme that turns carbohydrates into fat. As such, your body will burn your existing fat as energy, instead of making more fat. On top of this, the HCA in Garcinia Cambogia XT is claimed to increase serotonin production, a key neurotransmitter in your brain, which can boost your mood and suppress your appetite.
According to the manufacturer, Garcinia Cambogia XT is made using all natural ingredients, without artificial flavors or preservatives, and to be produced in a FDA-registered laboratory.
You’ve got one burning question, and it’s this: Will Garcinia Cambogia XT help you lose weight? Luckily, we’ve got everything you need to know in order to make an informed purchasing decision. Keep reading to find out:
Can Garcinia Cambogia XT Really Help You Lose Weight?
Here at HighYa, we consider ourselves experts on all things garcinia cambogia. Why? Because we’ve reviewed dozens of garcinia cambogia supplements over the years, and have written three in-depth articles about the science supporting many of these manufacturer’s claims, including Can Garcinia Cambogia Really Help You Lose Weight, Garcinia Cambogia Buyer’s Guide, and The Updated Truth About Garcinia Cambogia.
And without going too in depth, it all comes down to this: There is essentially zero clinical evidence showing that the hydroxycitric acid (HCA) contained in the rind of the garcinia cambogia fruit can provide you with any kind of weight loss benefits. Plain and simple.
However, many manufacturers get away with making claims like these without adequate evidence to support them because nutritional supplements aren’t regulated by the FDA, and don’t become involved until enough consumer complaints have amassed. And by the time this occurs and the company has been taken to court, they’re usually onto their next supplement scam. For in-depth coverage about this, be sure to read our Nutritional Supplements Buyer’s Guide.
Of course, it also doesn’t help that TV personalities such as Dr. Oz promote many of these “flavor of the day” supplements and give them undeserved credibility.
Garcinia Cambogia XT’s Other Ingredients
Although Garcinia Cambogia XT’s website doesn’t list any of its other ingredients, YourWeightLossAid.com shows:
According to WebMD though, there is insufficient evidence (or none, in some instances) showing that any of these ingredients can help you lose weight.
Garcinia Cambogia XT Side Effects
Assuming Garcinia Cambogia XT contains the above ingredients in the advertised dosages, it’s unlikely that users will encounter any side effects.
With this said, some uncommon side effects from garcinia cambogia include nausea, digestive upset, and headache, while potassium can cause much of the same. Chromium side effects sometimes include dizziness, mood changes, and impaired thinking, and calcium may cause belching or gas.
How Garcinia Cambogia XT Convinces You to Buy
Perhaps due to the almost complete lack of clinical evidence showing that garcinia cambogia can provide any kind of weight loss benefits, Garcinia Cambogia XT’s manufacturer uses some well-known psychological tactics to persuade you to make a purchase, which is something we discussed in detail in our How Weight Loss Ads Convince You to Buy article.
This begins by prominently displaying a picture of an attractive model in the upper left-hand corner of the page, where your eye is naturally drawn. This makes you think about how much you’d like to look like her.
Then, you learn that Garcinia Cambogia XT is claimed to burn fat quickly, but that it’s so popular the manufacturer is having a difficult time fulfilling demand (which almost certainly isn’t the case), so they’re only giving out 150 trials per day. This immediately creates a sense of urgency.
Finally, you find out that you can order your trial right now, which lifts this sense of urgency and causes you to make an emotional—versus an informed—purchasing decision.
Customers Don’t Seem Pleased with Garcinia Cambogia XT
There were only a few online customer reviews for Garcinia Cambogia XT at the time of our research. However, we did find several user comments on Your Weight Loss Aid, which were almost wholly negative (although not all were related to Garcinia Cambogia XT).
The good news is that we’ve reviewed dozens of garcinia cambogia supplements here at HighYa, and what readers say about them can help us gain some insight into what we can expect with Garcinia Cambogia XT.
Here, the most popular of these include GC180XT, Garcinia Cambogia 360, and Slimera Garcinia Cambogia, which have an average rating of less than 1.5 stars among more than 160 reader reviews, with common complaints citing:
- Difficulties with the trial.
- Failure to work as advertised.
- Problems processing returns.
Because of the sheer prevalence of these complaints, and because Garcinia Cambogia’s business model is nearly identical to these other products, we feel comfortable stating that you will probably experience much of these same with Garcinia Cambogia XT.
The Company Behind Garcinia Cambogia XT
Exact same image as Garcinia Cambogia Sensation (in fact, other than the product name, the two websites are essentially identical),
Garcinia Cambogia XT is manufactured by Optimal Health Products LLC based out of Wilmington, DE, who holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau (as of 2/23/15). Among the company’s more than 93 complaints (90 of which the company never responded to), the most common reference difficulty obtaining refunds and problems with the trial.
Garcinia Cambogia XT Pricing & Refund Policy
Garcinia Cambogia XT is only available through a 14-day trial for $4.95, for which you’ll receive a 2-month supply (2 bottles) of the supplement.
After your trial has ended, you’ll be billed $157.88 for the two bottles you were previously sent. Then, you’ll also be enrolled in the company’s autoship program, which means you’ll be sent a new bottle of Garcinia Cambogia XT once every 30-days, and your credit card will be charged $78.94 each time.
Import note: Our opinion is that free trials and autoship programs are intended to get ahold of your credit card number and rack up as many charges as possible, so we typically recommend avoiding products sold using the methods.
The Garcinia Cambogia XT website indicates you’ll also receive a lifetime membership to their “exclusive VIP website” that features different weight loss and fitness resources, although no additional information was provided, even when we attempted to check out.
Outside of the trial, Garcinia Cambogia XT is claimed to come with a 60-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request a refund or to cancel your autoship enrollment, you’ll need to contact customer service at 855-986-2646 for an RMA.
Is Garcinia Cambogia XT Worth Your Time & Money?
Chopping to the point: Considering the lack of clinical evidence showing its efficacy, the underhanded selling tactics (including free trials and autoship programs), and the very poor online customer reputation (both for the product and for the company), it’s our opinion that Garcinia Cambogia XT is almost certainly a scam.
However, if you’re dead-set on trying a garcinia cambogia supplement, you’ll be able to find one at a local retailer, often priced much lower than Garcinia Cambogia XT.

Garcinia Cambogia XT
I have vomited my insides out for two days. It has almost killed me as I am 84 years old and could barely walk from the bathroom and had to turn around and go back in. My vision is so blurred, I do not want this stuff, cannot take it, it is dangerous to me. Please cancel this as it has made me so sick. I have only had it a week and took twice. First I didn't know that was what made me throw up and took it a second day and the throwing up was worse. I've tried calling two numbers I had and they said it was not good from my area and hung up on me. What does that mean, please help me and discontinue this for me please. Thank you.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
