About Generac OneWASH
If you’re a do-it-yourselfer that enjoys keeping your home clean and shiny, the Generac OneWASH claims to be the most versatile pressure washer in the industry. In fact, by giving you the ability to choose the PSI that best suits your needs, the manufacturer claims that one heavy-duty Generac OneWASH is comparable to four industrial-grade pressure washers.
But when it comes down to it, does the Generac OneWASH really work as well as it claims, and exactly how much bang for your buck does it provide? We did some digging around, and here’s what we found out.
Generac OneWASH Details
From removing dirt and debris on your home’s exterior, to stripping paint off an old wood deck, there are hundreds of instances where a good power washer can come in handy. With this in mind, the Generac OneWASH power washer claims to use Variable Pressure Technology to allow you to choose from four different settings between 2,000 and 3,000 PSI, simply by turning your PowerDial to the appropriate setting. Because of this, the Generac OneWASH claims to combine four industrial-grade pressure washers into one easy to use unit.
On top of this, the Generac OneWASH claims to feature the largest, most powerful engine in its class, an automatic low water/oil shutoff to prevent damaging your engine, in addition to a cushion grip spray gun handle.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About the Generac OneWASH?
Overall, it appears that the Generac OneWASH has a primarily positive online reputation, with the majority of compliments referencing ease of use, versatility, and power. However, for those customers that were dissatisfied with their power washer, we found two running themes among their complaints. These include:
By far the number one complaint associated with the Generac OneWASH was difficulty obtaining repairs covered under warranty, which is especially troublesome considering that many consumers claimed that the power washer is built with parts that tend to fail quickly (e.g. plastic wheels and cowl, frame flexes when pulling the pressure washer around, spray gun breaks easily, etc.), and extreme difficulty starting. Apparently, the latter is due to a safety switch that engages if the OneWASH doesn’t start on the first pull. This caused numerous reviewers to return the Generac OneWASH within days (or even hours) of bringing it home.
This leads us to the second most common complaint, which referenced extremely poor customer service (customers are bounced around to multiple departments/numbers before someone offered to help, support staff sending incorrect replacement parts that often take a very long time to receive, etc.), failure to notify customers that a part is on backorder, failure to call customers back after leaving multiple messages and sending several emails, and just a general sense of unwillingness to help.
With this in mind, according to the Generac OneWASH website, 96% of their customers would recommend the product to others. However, more than one customer claimed that the negative reviews they wrote were rejected by the company and not posted on their website.
What’s the Bottom Line About the Generac OneWASH?
Generac has been in business since 1959, and appears to have an overall positive reputation for quality residential and commercial-grade products—primarily generators. The company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and as we mentioned above, most customers appear to have been satisfied with their OneWASH power washer.
Despite this, an overwhelming number of customers seem to have experienced very similar problems with the machine, and quickly find that customer service is slow to respond to their needs when something goes wrong, ultimately leaving them without an operational pressure washer for weeks or months at a time.
With this in mind, it appears the Generac OneWASH might be a good addition to your arsenal, but in a minority of cases, it looks like you’ll be rolling the dice as to whether or not your machine will be operational upon arrival. As such, we would highly recommend purchasing the power washer from a local retailer (instead of directly through the manufacturer), which could possibly save you the headache of having to ship it back should something go wrong.
