About Glam Twirl

Glam Twirl is a 2-in-1 hair styling wand that claims to make it fast, easy, and fun to get a great new hairstyle in seconds.

According to the company, Glam Twirl accomplishes this by allowing you to flip a switch to twist your hair, and then flip the switch again to twirl. In addition, Glam Twirl also gives you the ability to wrap your hair in thread in a rainbow of colors, and to add beads for “dynamic colors” that match any outfit.

In fact, Glam Twirl claims to help you style your hair a different way every day, and to made it as easy as “twirl, wrap, snap!”

If your daughter recently asked you to buy them Glam Twirl, you probably rolled your eyes. “Great, another cheap toy they’ll forget about in a day,” you might have thought to yourself.

But will Glam Twirl provide them with hours of entertainment, or is it just a cheap hunk of marketing hype? Consider the following:

The Glam Twirl Styling Process

Overall, Glam Twirl consists of 3 primary parts:

  • Styling Wand – This is the main section of the Glam Twirl, which includes the handle. At the top of the handle, you’ll find a space for 2 different attachments.
  • Twirl Head – The twirl head has 2 different “prongs” on opposite sides, through which you’ll attach strands of hair. When the Glam Twirl is activated, this head will twirl and tighten the individual strands.
  • Wrapper Head – This is the head you’ll use to wrap your hair in the thread of your choice.

In addition to the wand and attachments, you’ll also receive a threader, thread spools, and more with your Glam Twirl purchase (we’ll talk more about this in the Pricing section).

For additional details, be sure to read through Glam Twirl’s instructions.

Are There Options Similar to Glam Twirl?

In contrast to most other “As Seen on TV” products, Glam Twirl really does appear to be unique in both design and function. As such, there isn’t any direct competition in the marketplace, and you’ll have to purchase it if you want the exact styles it provides.

With this said, there are dozens of online tutorials that can show you how to achieve relatively similar results by hand, although this will be much more labor intensive than using Glam Twirl.

But does it really work as well as advertised? Let’s take a look:

Customer Reviews for Glam Twirl

Since writing our original Glam Twirl review, 2 customers provided feedback about their experiences. Both claimed that it took several months to receive their Glam Twirl, and one claimed that “it doesn’t work good at all.”

While there weren’t any other online customer reviews for Glam Twirl at the time of our research, we did learn that the product is manufactured by Product Trend, LLC (a division of Hampton Direct), who held a B rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on 123 closed complaints (as of 6/11/15).

Most of these appeared to reference order totals that were higher than expected, orders that were processed without the customer’s consent, and frequent sales calls after placing orders.

Product Trend also makes many popular ASOTV products, including 3 Way Poncho, Lumi Doh, My Spy Birdhouse, Chillow, and many more. And among nearly 100 HighYa reader reviews for these, they have an average rating of 2 stars, with common complaints citing failure to work as advertised and poor quality.

Glam Twirl Pricing & Refund Policy

Glam Twirl is priced at $14.99 plus $7.95 S&H. For this price, you’ll receive over 100 pieces, including:

  • 1 Glam Twirl with Twirler & Wrapper
  • 4 rolls of wrapping thread
  • 24 styling beads
  • 50 rubber bands
  • Style guide

You’ll also receive “free” Glam Twirl Fashion Kit that includes:

  • 2 rolls of wrapping thread
  • 12 styling beads
  • 4 hair ties
  • 4 headbands
  • 4 barrettes
  • Purse

Glam Twirl comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. This means that you might end up spending just as much in S&H charges as you’ll receive as a refund.

With this in mind, in order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 877-370-6420.

Can Glam Twirl Take Your Hair to the Next Level?

Chopping to the point: Although Glam Twirl has been on the market for well over a year, there are next to no online customer reviews for the product, so it’s difficult to gauge how satisfied you (or your daughter) will be with its performance.

With this said, many of the manufacturer’s other products come with relatively low customer reputations, based on complaints of poor quality and failure to work as advertised. Whether or not you’ll experience the same with Glam Twirl remains to be seen though.

If you decide to give Glam Twirl a shot though, realize that you might just break even after everything is said and done, considering the high, non-refundable S&H charges.

My daughter purchased the "Glam Twirl" for my 6 year old granddaughter for Christmas this year. When we put a brand new battery in it, it did not work at all, it would sporadically work. Not enough where it would do anything to my granddaughters hair. I would not recommend it to anyone! Don't waste your money on the Sham Swirl.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Cheap, doesn't work.

The hair twirler doesn't work to twirl your hair, only to knot it up. The threader broke almost immediately. The thread kept getting stuck in the twirler.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I would not recommend this product. It does not work and it really hurts. I think whoever wants this should get a Conair one because I have used both and Conair is better
