Poor on all accounts

Terribly run company. The price point is high to "borrow" two low-priced garments. You cannot cancel on the website. If you cancel in the middle of a billing period, you lose the days you already paid for. You must call on the last day of the billing cycle to avoid this. And of course, the wait is long to get someone on the phone. Save yourself a headache and skip this one.

Not good

I returned my garments and terminated the free 30-day trial, and they still charged my account. Total scam and poor quality clothes. I would give them a negative star if it was possible.

Horrible service

I signed up for the free trial. It says on their website you will not be charged for thirty days. Not so free. I was charged immediately upon signing up for $74. It hit my bank immediately. When I complained, they said the money was being "held" until my trial was up and then if I decided to continue I'd be "charged." Umm, if I can't access the funds, as far as I'm concerned, you took my money. That's a week of groceries for me. Some people don't have three or four days to wait until "the bank refunds you upon cancellation." What a rip-off. They are liars.

Scam

I signed up for Gwynnie Bee at the recommendation of a friend. We have both discontinued service at this point.

I received my first order and neither product fit right. I'm horrible about returning things, and it wouldn't fit in my mailbox, so I rode around with the clothes (unworn and packaged) in my car for two months. Finally, I called and had the service canceled. At this point, I've already been billed twice, and they said they had to bill me a third time because I didn't give enough notice. This means that I have already spent $270 on two items.

My service was discontinued in January. I know have two additional charges on my account from them. One is for $36 and the other is for $111. I have paid more than five times what either of these items is worth. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I thoroughly enjoy my Gwynnie Bee subscription. My only concern would be when I receive the same color scheme or similar patterned in one shipment. I would always like to receive a variety.

Billing

I've stated on more than one occasion that this company has been taking $75 out of my account for the last three years and I've only had one outfit delivered to me due to the point that during the Hurricane Harvey incident, I was unable to locate those items and the company still continued to bill me. I have found those items, and I do not want the service anymore. I have asked for a box be sent to me so I can return the two items that I received almost 4 years ago, and I would never say that this company has a compassionate heart because they don't. They have again taken $75 out for almost 48 months and I've only received one outfit.

Hard to find items to closet

I have been a member for two years and in the beginning, I was very pleased with the service and selection. Currently, I struggle to find enough items to fill my virtual closet and keep shipments coming regularly. It seems that if I put something in the closet that I don’t really love, that’s always the item I get first. Maybe supply is not keeping up with demand? I’ve had items in the closet for over a year and never received them, even if prioritized. If the item is no longer available, why let it sit in my closet?

Materials and patterns

I have been a loyal customer for quite some time now. I am finding that less and less of the items I rent are quality items. The material and patterns are dated. They look good in photos, but when they arrive, it’s nothing I would have touched in a store. I’m debating leaving. But I have enjoyed a large selection they've provided over the years. Thank you.

Endless possibilities!

I began a new job which requires me to dress professionally 5 days a week. Looking at my current clothing inventory, I found it lacking. One of my new work friends always looked great and wore amazing up to date styles, and when I asked her where she shopped, she shared with me the Gwynnie Bee secret. I really like the selection, and it is as easy to use as possible. It saves on shopping time, laundry and dry cleaning. You go online, select your styles and size, they send you available items, you wear them, place them in a pre-posted bag and return. As soon as you indicate you are returning the items you have, they are preparing the next box. I LOVE IT!

Miserable failure this holiday season

I had been a fan of Gwynnie Bee, but they have been an utter failure this holiday season. Like a lot of people, I have a Christmas party every day of this week. I knew a holiday party week was coming, so I returned my last items early (December 10th and 11th). It's now December 19th. I have not received a new shipment, nor has the next shipment shipped out. With the weekend and holiday coming up, I think it is realistic to guess that I will not have had a Gwynnie Bee item in hand from December 11th until December 26th. That is, literally, the two weeks of the year when this service would provide the most value to me. Total disappointment.

Epic failure for holiday dresses.

Horrible company. Beware of extra charges.

I wanted to cancel my Gwynnie Bee account, so they charged me extra month right away.

I had to get BBB involved to fight extra charges, then they responded to BBB that they will refund me but delayed the processing. When they finally process the refund, it was just PARTIAL refund.

Horrible company - I’m never coming back and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The condition of clothes is also quite poor, and cloth prioritization never worked with them.

Not much value

Expensive subscription service for mediocre clothes. Plus if you want to purchase the items they send you the costs are prohibitive. Additionally, they ask you to fill out a clothing profile and don't send what you have asked for. It's a shame that this company feels they can charge first and then attempt to deliver after and what they deliver is not what you asked for.

Go with another option

First, Gwynnie Bee does not care about its customers. I used the service and canceled and then decided to try again. Gwynnie Bee charged me for months I was not using the service. I emailed them and they would not refund the amount when I was not getting clothes. Gwynnie Bee is supposed to send your next shipment as soon as you have returned the current shipment. This has not been done. Sometimes there is a week lapse between returning and getting a new shipment. I have emailed about this as well, and nothing changed. Finally, there have been times when I don’t think the clothes were cleaned properly. I use other companies and do not have this problem.

I have really enjoyed receiving my Gwynnie Bee outfits over the past year. It allows me to wear new outfits each week without buying a new wardrobe each month! And no dry cleaning! The return process is easy and the outfit options are great.

The best investment

Being able to wear so many amazing clothes and dresses has impacted my life in such a positive way and has given me both style and confidence beyond measure. I love setting trends at work and in my personal life and Gwynnie Bee has given me the tools to do just that. The stress of what to wear every day has been removed, and I have been very proud to recommend others to your service. It's made my life so much easier

I have the five items at a time subscription, and it's wonderful. I wear almost exclusively Gwynnie Bee clothes to work. I rarely wear the same thing twice, and it's really nice to have less laundry to do. There are definitely some fails (it's all stuff you pick for yourself, and sometimes I'm not sure what I was thinking, lol), but such is life. Overall, I think it's an excellent value for the money, and it's made my life easier. It's also made me more adventurous - easy to try a style once if you don't have to buy it.

Pretty good

For the most part, I've been happy with the service for the past 5 and 1/2 years. I signed up when they were very new, so there have been some bumps and growing pains as they have grown as a company. For instance, sometimes the packages never arrive, many times the items have been missing belts, etc., other times the clothes have smelled horrible. For the most part, when I have voiced a complaint, it is has been taken care of to my satisfaction. I enjoy the selection and getting new items to try. I enjoy the option to purchase things that I love. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the service and would recommend it to friends to try out.

Life in the work lane

I signed up for going to be in 2014 around the same time I got a promotion that required a more corporate professional wardrobe, but I refuse to just wear a pantsuit and be boring. Gwynnie Bee gave me the opportunity to explore and find my new style transitioning from my early twenties into my professional wardrobe while still maintaining my love of fashion and quirkiness. I can try new pieces for work and always have the availability for fun date night outfits or special nights out and even family vacations. And now that they've gone fully size inclusive I can recommend it to all of my friends, no matter your body type. Keep it up Gwynnie Bee.

So far, so good

I've been on a weight loss journey for nearly three years, two of them with Gwynnie Bee "lending" me clothing along the way. It's been a good relationship with only minor hiccups along the way.

Pros: A constantly changing supply of (mostly) new clothing to enjoy along the way with (mostly) accurate sizing charts.

Cons: When the sizing charts are off, they are waaaaay off. But that purple bag is right there to receive the "toss backs." And when the pieces have been "previously enjoyed," they can be somewhat thread-worn. But that's only happened twice in my two years of experience and, again, the purple bag is right there.

Lingering issue: They say there's a pair of pants that I know I returned which they have never received. It's been sitting there for quite some time marked "return notified" but receipt never acknowledged. They've continued to send me all of the items to which I'm entitled, but at some point, they should give up on that pair of pants, don't you think?

Not worth the money or time to cancel

I would not sign up for this service. It is not worth the cost, and it is much more difficult to cancel than it is to sign up. Due to the delay time between sending out shipments takes so long that even if you wear an item the day it is shipped to you, then notify them that night that you are returning it you will only get maybe 3-4 items a month. Out of those 3-4 items I only really like half of them. I've bought a few items, but the discounted price of 15% or so, isn’t worth the cost of the subscription.

Also, it is really easy to sign up online, but you cannot cancel online. If you work normal business hours, you’ll have to take time off work to do it or do it over your lunch break because you can only cancel during business hours. I have a class I take during my lunch hour, so it took me a while to find time to call when the office was slow. When you do call, it is an automated phone line and there isn’t an immediate option to cancel your membership, so you’re going to have to hold for a while to talk to someone, and when you talk to someone, it will take several minutes to ask silly questions like "was the problem the material?"

Anyway, unless you have a lot of free time and money to waste, I wouldn’t sign up.

Can't quit

I had it for a few months, and then the service randomly stopped without notice. It wasn't being billed so I didn't worry about it. Then the service randomly started up again several months later. They won't let you change the email on the site or quit from the website. It takes far too long for the next pieces to ship and arrive, this limits severely how many you can borrow during a month. This isn't worth the money.

Decline in quality and service over the past year

I’ve been with Gwynnie Bee for about five years now and it’s totally helped transform me into a budget-friendly fashionista. But over the past year, I’ve seen a hefty decline in my overall experience and will probably be closing my account soon.

The style and quality of clothes have not been as appealing to me. At first, I thought it might be the season or the styles that were popular at the time, but after a year I am still feeling this way. I can barely keep 25 items in my closet that I’m interested in, let alone 30-35 as GB requests. I used to love so many of my dresses that I purchased way too many of them. Now I’m lucky if I even end up actually wearing one of the five that are sent to me.

The turnaround has also gotten noticeably slower. What used to be 4-5 days has turned into 5-7. I have similar subscription services who have been able to keep up with the faster turn around even as they have expanded as a company.

I just don’t feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.

Don't do it, it's a scam!

I wish I had read the reviews on this site before trying Gwynnie Bee, as many people have had the same negative experience. I have tried lots of different subscription boxes, including clothes, food and beauty products, and this is the ONLY one I've ever had a bad experience with.

Overall, the clothes were meh. It is nice that they have a selection for larger sizes. But out of the several shipments I got over my month-long trial, I only wore one piece out.

I then canceled the subscription as I had planned to do after the trial period. No problems.

Fast forward to two months later when I see a charge for $86 from Gwynnie Bee on my statement. I called and they said they hadn't received a shipment of 2 dresses that I had sent back to them with their shipping label. On that phone call, they stated they would "look around the warehouse" and if still not found, would open a ticket with USPS to look for the package.

The following day I received an email asking about my customer service experience, and when I clicked on it, the site stated the ticket had already been closed and that I could not comment on it.

After waiting two weeks with no response, I called back. Again the rep stated they would look around the warehouse. I said that wouldn't be necessary, as they'd already done that and not gotten back to me. I asked if they keep the details of the return shipping labels they send out, and she said yes. I asked why they couldn't just track the label since they have it on file. She said it was my responsibility to provide it, and they couldn't do anything else. I asked to speak with a supervisor, was told there were none in the building, and that I would get a call back from one within 24-48 hours.

When (SHOCKER) I had not received a call back from management within the promised time, I called back yet again. This time they gave me a ticket #, said it was being escalated, and again to expect a call from a supervisor. I'm not holding my breath.

TL;DR - They charged me for items I returned with their shipping label. Per other reviews on this page, this seems like a common occurrence that the company should have resolved by now. Instead of apologizing and returning my money, they have given me the runaround. I'm going on three weeks of fighting with them for a refund. If my money is not returned soon, I will have to work with my bank to reverse the charges.

I will be sure to tell my friends and family to stay away from this business, as well as leaving this review everywhere I can. I am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, at https://www.bbb.org/ and encourage anyone who's had a similar experience to do the same.

Save time, save money

Gwynnie Bee has been so extremely helpful and has removed any worry I felt about what to wear to work in the mornings or what to wear to church on Sunday. I used to sit in front of my closet trying to find something every day and it just wasn’t easy. Now my worry is gone, and I have something to wear all the time, and I look and feel great! I get so many compliments on what I’m wearing. I save lots of time and money not having to buy clothes constantly. I highly recommend this service to everyone.

The cure for the shop-o-holic

Love this company! It's cured my online shopping addiction AND I look great! Tons of great clothes to choose from. Lots of on-trend looks and no more "frumpy old lady plus size section". Shipping and dry cleaning included in the monthly fee! What's not to love!

This company is total crap

Not only is the cost per month ridiculously high, many of the clothes come with defects and holes. Assuming they come at all. I HATE that you cannot cancel online, but you can sign up online. When you try to call in, you get the runaround and they try to pressure you into staying.
