They do not honor client requests

I went online and filled out the brief introductory questionnaire. I didn't want to give them my phone, as this type of contact creates problems if called at inopportune times (it's my only phone, so it's with me at work and at home). I wrote a note that I did NOT wish to be contacted by phone, email only.

Since that time, I have received numerous phone calls and voice messages - as anticipated, many at times when it was completely inconvenient. I've also received several follow-up emails saying that they've tried to call me, so please call them back. I wrote back and told them that, due to their inability to follow my written request, I wished to be placed on their 'do not contact' list. I did this to each of their contacts (it's not just one and not just one phone number, although I've blocked each one after they've called).

Today, I received a text sent to my phone, again requesting I call them "ASAP" so they could get me the names of agents in my area. They obviously don't honor client's requests, so I can only imagine the type of "service" they provide if they can't follow this!

I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau with the next phone call. What a mistake to contact them!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Get ready for the BARRAGE!

If you've ever experienced the Lending Tree barrage of hundreds of people contacting you by all means (phone, email, text) when you thought it was a good idea to use the "service" to find a home loan, then you must know that you're into this in spades with HomeLight.

Expect HUNDREDS of contacts beginning within seconds of registering. And remember, real estate agents fall into the same class as USED CAR SALES REPRESENTATIVES.

Terrible experience. Thank God I used a ghost email address and phone number.

Great service, grateful for my agent

My wife and I just moved to Austin from Brooklyn. We had no idea who to contact to help us find and buy a house. I saw a HomeLight TV ad and thought I'd give the service a try. It was free, so couldn't hurt, right? We interviewed the agents they suggested and ended up picking the first person we spoke to. We just moved into a house in the Old West Austin neighborhood and couldn't be more grateful to HomeLight for the experience.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

HomeLight is NOT free

I could have chosen a good realtor on my own but went with the realtor referred by HomeLight. By all the reviews and reading the website, I was under the assumption the service was free for me to use. I was already considering Berkshire Hathaway as the broker firm. She was a good match for me and sold my home within a week for a good price (home was apprasied only $32 more than the offered price). When it came to the day of closing the title company including a $2026.72 referral fee to HomeLight Inc., which was deducted from my selling price. Even though I had a good experience in selling my home, I was misled. At no time was I told I'd be paying for HomeLight's referral.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Too many unsolicited calls

Within minutes of getting my two recommended realtors, I started receiving five phone calls from agents that were not on the recommended list. I tried this website because I thought I was able to choose my agent and not just submit my contact information to all agents in this area so they could call me. I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Worthless

I was matched with two agents. The first one comes in with a chip on his shoulder, telling us how good he is and did nothing but tell us what was wrong with our property. He told us the property was worth $50,000 less than every appraisal we had. I think he was low balling so he could buy and flip himself. The second agent took two weeks to contact us. I figured that any agent on this site was the lower tier agent who can't get own their clients. Never again.

This company doesn't provide any added value to an ordinary search of the internet

This is a complete waste of time and money. All I received were a couple of replies from realtors who obviously pay for this service. They were certainly not the "top" realtors in the area. I live in a county with 13,000 realtors, how could so few people respond?

Depending on your specific needs we will match you with agents in our database that fit those needs. Rural areas can be more difficult since there are a limit amount of agents in those areas. Garbage, lazy and useless

Another scam to get you to talk to lazy realtors. I cannot believe how lazy they are. We asked for investors only, but got salespeople who knew NOTHING about our neighborhood, or our market. Jeez...save yourself time and don't call, don't respond. They are succubus and time wasters.

Terrible service

HomeLight tries to bribe people into writing good reviews on them. They actually did absolutely nothing to warrant that. So zero stars is what they deserved. Be careful of all the other five stars, those are fake reviews.

Very bad realtor information

I acted as a buyer and completed the info. I got four agents. All of their experience years were incorrect as I know them all. Two of the agents are not even agents in the area, they are over an hour away.

Since some of us use three MLS systems, you can never calculate the real number of sales.

I was just given an award for multi-million dollar sales in my company and have sales far in excess of three of the four agents. I didn’t make the HomeLight list. I live in the area, only one other agent lives in the area.

This is really bad information to the general public! It’s very unfair to hard working agents that are here in the area, have the sales volume and know the area. Anyone buying or selling would not be getting a fair deal. Beware of this website!

Our service is completely free to both buyer/sellers, and the only fee for agents is a standard broker to broker fee when a referral actually transacts. Due to this we're always looking to work with the top agents and therefore if your information is not correct, we would most definitely want to get that fixed.

Please note, test leads are often flagged in our system as the can be quite disruptive to our process. Therefore, your results may not be indicative of what a real lead results.

No agent support at all

I am a REALTOR and the listing coordinator for our team. We have been working to set up the profile for our listing agent and team leader for a few weeks now, using the online information they provide. As we began uploading her transaction history we had questions.

We emailed support, several times, no response. Attempted to call the number on the website, next to the box that says they don't use robots, only real people. Well, if you select the help options for agents, a robot tells you to email support. I chose a different option not intended for agents and finally got someone. He didn't help the agents but offered to take my information, start a ticket, and have someone call back. After more than a week, that still hasn't happened. Our team manager did the same thing. Emailed support several times, called, got the same response and then no response.

We sent the requested transaction verification reports twice. We have been emailing them for over two weeks, I even tried to message them through Facebook and messaged the founder directly on Linkedin. We have not gotten a response.

I don't know if this works as a lead platform or not. It looks nice, but there is zero support. I have never had absolutely any response. Even the DMV in my home state responded to an email faster than this. Unless something changes, it has been nothing but a huge waste of time.

And yes, this review is meant to elicit a response. I don't like using these tactics, but it seems like this is the only place I am seeing responses.
