I just received the additional aligners and they only sent HALF. I then called their customer service department. They admitted they screwed up, and then were happy to tell me that it will take ANOTHER 5-6 weeks for me to get the remainder of the aligners - no special treatment - no expediting the order.
RUN FROM THIS COMPANY.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Link to this ReviewOctober of this year I finished the purported 6 months of treatment. Unfortunately, while there was improvement, there was 1 tooth that was still misaligned. On 10/21 I went in for a reevaluation scan and was notified on 10/22 that new aligners would be coming. I was given a production estimate of 3-4 weeks. On 11/15, having not received the aligners and seeing NO updates on the website, I phoned and spoke with Tahlier who explained that the aligners should be in the mail by the end of the month and that the estimated production time was 4-5 weeks. On 12/5, having heard nothing, I reached out again. I spoke to Marco and then his supervisor, Alessandro. I was told that there was a quality control issue with my replacement aligners and they had to be reprinted. They were unable to give me any more info. I was then told that they would send a request to expedite to the production team and would get back to me within 72 hours to let me know the status. Having heard NOTHING again, I reached out on 12/17 and spoke to Jacob. I was given the same story as 12/5 - reprinting needed, no estimation on when they would be completed, etc., but ABSOLUTELY no additional info. Apparently, their lab cannot be reached directly - nor does the lab provide updates on orders.
As of this date, I have been wearing the same aligners for 2 months. I do not have the replacement aligners, nor do I have ANY idea as to when I can expect them, despite waiting for almost TWO months. SmileDirect has failed miserably to deliver on their promises of a perfect smile within 6 months. They are inept at customer communication and follow through.
I have lost all confidence in this company. I had previously been singing their praises and had 3 people prepared to sign up through their referral program. However, when the runaround started, I stopped recommending them and advised the aforementioned referrals not to bother.
