About Instant Clear Skin Cream
Instant Clear is a topical skin care solution that promises to bring you brighter, visibly younger-looking skin by smoothing out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while restoring its natural firmness and radiance.
Put more straightforward, the product claims to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin, purporting to be a healthy, natural alternative to injections and other medical procedures centered around facial health.
So, exactly how does it claim to achieve all of these admittedly attractive-sounding results? According to the website, the skin care serum impacts a crucial protein in the skin that gives it its shape and structure. That substance is called collagen.
Understanding the Importance of Collagen for Facial Health
As mentioned above, collagen is a crucial component of the body’s overall structure. The substance makes up 75 percent of the skin, which itself is the largest organ in the human body, according to WebMD. They also state that it acts as a barrier of sorts, keeping wrinkles and fine lines at bay. Unfortunately, our bodies begin to lose the ability to produce collagen as we age, which is largely why wrinkles are so prevalent amongst the aging population.
So, how exactly does Instant Clear claim to impact collagen in the skin? Put simply, the product claims to deliver whole collagen molecules directly into the facial area in order to revitalize it and provide all of the benefits listed above. Is this truly what you can expect, however?
From a scientific perspective, the reality of the situation is that collagen molecules are much too large to be absorbed into the skin. For instance, water molecules are smaller than those of collagen, and yet, our skin does a pretty great job of keeping water out when it needs to.
This is further illustrated in a 1988 clinical trial, where it was found that collagen could not be absorbed into the skin via topical application. In addition, the study concluded that even if it were possible for collagen–in whole or fragmented form–to penetrate the skin, there was no evidence that it could actually build new fibers or strengthen the ones already contained within.
Instant Clear Skin Cream Ingredients & Side Effects
No ingredients are listed on the product’s website, so we reached out to customer service for clarification. After talking to multiple representatives, one said that the skin cream has “a lot of ingredients,” but told us that the main one used in the formula was simply topical collagen.
As we just learned that this substance cannot be absorbed into the skin, this is about the point where it might feel as though the pieces are coming together in your head when it comes to collagen creams.
That isn’t to say that these sorts of products have no benefits whatsoever; in the article linked above, Dr. Eva Hurst, an associate professor of dermatology at Washington University in St. Louis claims that topical collagen “might give you a little bit more of a glow because it’s a good moisturizer.”
So, the serum might be able to provide some type of skin health benefit after all, even if only temporary. It just isn’t likely to turn back the hands of time and permanently change the way your skin looks and feels.
Unfortunately, because we don’t have a full list of the ingredients used in Instant Clear’s formula, and because customer service was unable to provide one when we called, it’s impossible to say for certain whether or not you’re likely to experience any adverse side effects from using the serum on your skin.
As for topical collagen itself, no significant side effects were reported by WebMD, Examine.com, or Drugs.com.
Instant Clear Pricing & Return Policy
Instant Clear Skin Cream was only available directly from the manufacturer’s website as of this writing, with the only way to purchase the product being a 14-day free trial. This means you’ll only be asked to pay $4.99 for shipping & handling on this initial supply, but the terms laid out that after this trial window is over, you will automatically be charged the full retail price of $94.73 and enrolled in the company’s autoship program.
This means that you’ll continue to be shipped a new supply of Instant Clear each and every month, and your credit card will be charged accordingly–unless you call customer service at 844-993-3834 to cancel before the initial trial period is up.
In order to return a product at any time during your membership, you’ll need to call customer service at the number listed above and make arrangements to send the unused portion back to the manufacturer. You’ll be required to pay return shipping costs, and the initial shipping & handling fees are not refundable.
How to Purchase a Skin Care Cream Like Instant Clear
At HighYa, we’ve reported on dozens of skin care serums over the years, and as a result, we’ve noticed that many of these products will often use the exact same website layout, down to the claims made and the imagery used.
Relating to Instant Clear specifically, the product’s website is nearly identical to several others that we’ve covered in the past, such as Sangeo, Parisian Secret, and Luminescent Serum, just to name a few examples.
Unfortunately, this often means that it can be difficult to tell these products apart from one another, especially when many of them do not disclose what ingredients are used in their formulas.
In order to help you make a more informed decision, we’d recommend keeping the following considerations in mind going into a potential purchase:
- Slow down, and be cautious online. If you find a product that you’re interested in online, be sure to evaluate it carefully before jumping directly into a purchase. Remember, most of sales is centered around getting you to make a hasty, emotionally-driven purchasing decision. If you can resist this urge, you’ll put yourself in a better position to find a solution that truly works for you.
- Ingredients are king. Let us ask you this; if someone handed you a pill, but wouldn’t tell you what’s inside, would you still take it? Chances are, you wouldn’t, and for good reason. We feel the same principles apply here; why should you trust in a product that doesn’t list its ingredients on the website for all to see?
- Watch out for free trials and autoship programs. We talk about these quite a bit here at HighYa, but that’s only because so many of our readers have expressed their frustrations over them in the past. Many have even said that they weren’t even aware they were enrolling in one of the programs until it was too late. Our advice: read the terms and conditions thoroughly before entering in your credit card information.
The Bottom Line: Instant Clear Skin Cream
So, will the Instant Clear Skin Cream truly bring out a visibly younger-looking version of yourself by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while also restoring your natural radiance?
As we learned above, although collagen is essential to the skin, it cannot be absorbed directly, due to its molecular size. In addition, we discovered that a full list of ingredients for Instant Clear was not provided by customer support when we reached out, nor was one listed on the website.
When you couple this with the potentially costly (should you fail to cancel it before the trial is over) autoship program, and as consumers ourselves, we feel that it’d be difficult to rationalize making a purchase whenever so many unanswered questions remain.
Instead, a solid first step might be to speak with your doctor directly about alternative solutions that may be right for you. Often, no one is more qualified to deliver medical advice tailored to your unique situation.
I’m fuming. I purchased this product for €4.75 ($5.81). I was in my bank just now only after an investigation by the bank to be told that on 2/8/18, Ultra Clear Skin took €96 ($117.45) from my account. Not only that but a company connected to Ultra Clear Skin, a Russian support company, took €99 ($121.10) from my account on the 2/7/18. I am absolutely disgusted.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
They sent me the trial product did not tell me I had a certain amount of time to send back or they debit my card $94.00. I called them and they said to send it back, and if nothing is opened, they would return my money. Well, it's been 3 weeks, and there is still no result.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
