About Internet Careers Online

As the name suggests, Internet Careers Online claims to provide their members with a foolproof method of starting online careers and making money, all in just 1 hour per day using only your computer and an internet connection. Even better, Internet Careers Online claims to provide this without ever having to pitch a product or service to everyone you come in contact with.

After signing up for Internet Careers Online, the company claims you’ll gain 24/7 access to the tools, training, and support you need to help you find success. Even with this support, the Internet Careers Online system is claimed to be so simple that it works over 3 easy steps:

  1. Obtain your unique online and offline tracking code and watch the step-by-step video training modules.
  2. Place ads where you’re advised. Then, when someone clicks on your ad and buys the product, you’ll earn a commission from each sale.
  3. Login into your account whenever you’d like to see how much money you’re making.

When you’re hard-up for money, it can be tempting to believe whatever you read on the internet, and you’re doing the right thing by learning more about Internet Careers Online before signing up. So let’s get right to it: Can the information found in Internet Careers Online help you make good money? Probably not, and here’s why:

What You’ll Really Be Doing After Signing Up for Internet Careers Online

First, let’s really put into perspective what you’ll likely be doing after signing up for Internet Careers Online (we say “likely” because details aren’t provided on the company’s website). Essentially, you’ll be posting short advertisements on free websites such as Craigslist, Facebook, and others, for a variety of products.

At the bottom of each advertisement is a link that contains your tracking code, and if someone sees your ad, clicks on your link, and then makes a purchase, you’ll earn a commission from the sale (no information provided as to how much commission this will be though).

This is what’s known as affiliate marketing. In other words, you act as an independent affiliate for the companies whose products you advertise. And in exchange for your effort, you’re given a small percentage of each sale you refer.

Is Affiliate Marketing a Good Way to Make Money?

As we detailed in our 5 Laws of Avoiding Work at Home Scams article, in some instances, affiliate marketing can represent a legitimate method of making money while working from home. The problem is that many companies who promote these opportunities make them seem much easier than they really are, and much less costly to promote.

In short, while affiliate marketing opportunities like those provided by Internet Careers Online might help you make money from home, it’s almost certain that it will take more time (and money, which we’ll talk about next) than you’re lead to believe.

Should Consumers Should be Wary of Internet Careers Online?

Overall, Internet Careers Online, based out of St. George, UT has a very poor online customer reputation, with the most common complaint citing lack of any realistic money making opportunities.

In fact, just like many other ad posting affiliate opportunities we’ve reviewed, such as Work at Home Edu and Email Processing for Cash, many of the sites where you’re instructed to post ads/links (e.g. Craigslist, Facebook, etc.) are well aware of these scams, and tend to delete them as soon as they’re posted. Because of this, you’ll likely have to pay to keep your ads up in different places, which can greatly cut into your overall profit.

On top of their very poor online customer reputation, Internet Careers Online also holds an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, despite having only 2 closed complaints (as of 1/21/15).

What Does Kelly Scott Have to Do with Internet Careers Online?

When searching for Internet Careers Online reviews during our research, we ran across a WorkAtHomeTruth article claiming that the company is the latest incarnation of something known as a “Kelly Scott scam.” In short, Kelly Scott (a fictitious name) is the creator of a variety of work at home programs, who always claims that she struggled to make ends meet before learning about these ad-posting systems.

And sure enough, when we read through Internet Careers Online’s Terms & Conditions, we found Kelly Scott’s name expressly mentioned:

According to WorkAtHomeTruth, previous Kelly Scott scams have been shut down by the FTC (we were unable to locate any independent verification of this), although another variation always pops up soon afterward. In fact, according to some RealScam.com forum posts, the less-than-stellar business people responsible for Internet Careers Online may have already moved on to the newest iteration named “Home Internet Careers University.”

Internet Careers Online Pricing & Refund Policy

An Internet Careers Online membership is priced at $97, which includes access to the Members Development Center and the VIP Members Area, as well as unlimited personal support.

All Internet Careers Online purchases come with a 60-day refund policy, although there was no contact information available at the time of our research, which will definitely make obtaining a refund difficult.

Will Internet Careers Online Help You Make Money Working from Home?

Chopping to the Point: Considering Internet Careers Online’s very poor customer and industry reputation, and the fact that making any real money will almost certainly take much more time and money than you’re led to believe, we feel confident calling the company a scam, and would strongly recommend staying far away.

    Too many solicitors calling

    • bend or,
    • May 11, 2015

I gave my name, email, and phone number just to see what this was all about. Since then, I've received over five calls a day from solicitors. I am very frustrated with the amount of calls and the fact that I unknowingly put my number on so many lists.

    Don't give them any information.

Business is not accredited on BBB because it receives complaints.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Doesn't work.

    • Dayton, OH,
    • May 1, 2015

Such a scam! it's impossible to market! All their "training" is 3 years old. They give a number for a coach who asks you questions about goals, your financial situation, etc. Then you're told that not everyone "qualifies". Needless to say, this is not for me at all because I tried to work the program.

    Internet Careers Online

    • Texas,
    • Mar 15, 2015

I bought into the Internet Careers Online for $37. It was originally $97 then when I went to leave the site it changed to 50% off the final offer making it $37. I should have left the page but didn't. I had numerous missed calls the day after and when I was able to answer the call a really nice guy asked me a lot of financial questions and went to his "boss" for a financial business plan for me to make money.

At that time I was told there would be a $1,000 to $2,000 investment. I told them I knew this was a scam and all they wanted was for me to send them money. I also told them that if it stated this up front online then I would have never considered it. He again tried to get me to invest $500 to $800. When I said no he told me he would transfer me to support and it was a recording that said to go back to the website basically and to figure it out for myself.

I'm glad it was only $37 that I wasted and not more. This is a scam. Don't do it!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
