Unprofessional company

I had placed an order online. It was $19.95, but when I got done, the total was $26.80, so I was like okay. After I placed my order, then it said it was going to be delivered within two to three weeks, so I was looking for it in the mail. I checked my credit card statements to find out that the company refunded me the money on the 9th and I had no idea they did since they never contacted me, never said a word, and never emailed me and said we are giving you a refund. Mind you, I never called in and asked for a refund, so they refunded it on their own.

I had called customer service to see what happened and they could not tell me why they refunded me at all. So my complaint is they never reached out to me to tell me the product I ordered is never coming in the mail and had me looking for it, and that they refunded me without me even knowing. Customer service was rude. I asked if I can talk to someone else and they said they are the only one working. I would never buy from this company ever again.

So after I talk to customer service 11 days later, after I called, they just now sent me a copy of my refund but didn't do it the same day they sent out the refund. The company can send you an email for buying the product but not a refund, stating that you were refunded by the company that you had no knowledge of. The company is so unprofessional. What kind of company are they running here? I want to talk to the CEO and ask them "what kind of company are you running?" If I could rate zero stars, I would.

Worst customer service

When I initially called in, I was promised quality healthy makeup ingredients, promised priority shipping for $7. 95, etc.

It took over a week to receive (which is not priority shipping in the real world), and the makeup had so much junk in it. I called back and said this is not the makeup I had requested and was told I would receive, and I don't even want to try it out for any amount of time, and I was told I'd still be charged the $45, even though it was just a day after I received it. I asked to speak to a supervisor several times to no avail.

The makeup color did not match either, so she told me the only thing she could do is send me out different colors of a different type of makeup (the one I should have received initially), which I got and they were tiny bottles.

I called back in and spoke with one gentleman that seemed to be respectful and honest to me. He gave me his extension to call him back, which I called and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a call back so I called back again today and spoke with an absolutely rude woman. I was telling her what was going on and she kept saying stuff that had nothing to do with what I was saying (like they were kind enough that I was credited back the shipping cost and I received it within 8 days), so I told her well, that's because I was promised and paid for priority shipping and that is not what I received, and that priority shipping is usually 2 to 3 days, and 8 days is not priority shipping.

Then she said that I discontinued auto service and I told her that has nothing to do with anything, why does she keep bringing these things up, that I'm not even talking about? And then she told me all I've been doing is nagging the entire time. I told her that's she's the customer service rep, and I'm an unhappy customer, it's not nagging, it's complaining about Luminess, whom she is representing.

I ask again to speak with a supervisor. She gets back on the phone after several minutes saying that they're going to call me back, but I won't be holding my breath. I think I'm going to have to now get the Better Business Bureau and my bank involved.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not that impressed

Overall, the product does NOT deliver a perfect complexion face. Even using the primer, eraser and foundation it did not deliver the as seen on TV look that they promised it would. It amplified my pores, the buildable coverage looked cakey, and overall I am very disappointed in the product. I'm sure some women who have flawless skin without makeup on get the TV results, but I'm an average woman with aging skin, and it just made every flaw stand out. So sad!

On 1/3/18 the product was returned the proper way. 30 days later, three false customer service promises regarding a refund, and I've not been refunded. Scam.

Really bad company and scam

I saw the TV show that shows Luminess Air, and customers can order a starter airbrush kit for $19.95. I went to the Luminess Air website and order. I missed the small gray print at the bottom showing that "After 30 days, buyers are then charged 5 monthly payments of $59.59."

As for the billing, I agree with so many others here that the pricing is deceptive, at best. I ended up with monthly payments of $53.94. I also got signed up for their "makeup club" for $36.72 each month. Uh, no.

In all, big fail. My bad. Be careful will this company.

Absolutely horrible!

Customer service is horrible when trying to return the system! They are rude and very unwilling to be helpful in any way. They also make YOU pay for the return shipment. That’s ridiculous!

Difficulty returning

I called and spoke to a lady after noticing a charge on my statement. She said it was for the membership fee and I explained I did not want to inquire any further fees from them, and what I need to do?

After a very lengthy phone call of back and forth with her trying to explain that the machine only worked with their make-up and me trying to explain it didn't matter to me, I didn't want any of it because my daughter didn't like it. I stated I would file a complaint with the FTC due to her not wanting to comply with my request, but that didn't seem to bother her at all.

Finally, she said she would cancel and stop any further fees. Today I called and spoke to a gentleman and he said I could not return anything because it is past 30 days and when I spoke to the previous rep on 1/25, she canceled my membership only. Horrible customer service, and it was difficult to understand both of the reps.

Worst company, don't waste your money. Shipping takes forever to leave the warehouse.

You can't get away from this company!

I ordered the Luminess Air System last summer (2017) and received the sprayer and makeup starter kit. The salesperson kept trying to upsell, which I understand since that is their job. When I didn't buy the other products she was upselling, she got huffy.

I paid for the air sprayer and introductory product (4 payments of $59.95 = $240). A little pricey, but I had agreed to it. However, it turned out that I was also "enrolled" in their monthly "club" at a cost of about $35 a month.

I don't use that much makeup and called to opt out of the monthly club. My phone call was answered, but I was told that they had phone problems and would call back in 20 minutes or less. They never called back, and I couldn't get through when I tried to call again.

I went to their website, and there was no place available to terminate the monthly membership. As a last resort, I canceled my debit card to stop the monthly payment being taken from my checking account.

A month later and somehow Luminess drafted $72 from my checking account as a debit card transaction even though they no longer had a debit card number! My bank is having to dispute the charges.

Think twice about giving this company your debit card number! It is a shame because I liked the product, but at $420 a year just for a couple of bottles of foundation, it's just not worth it. Moreover, you have a devil of a time getting out of their "monthly club fees" to stop the $420 a year payments.

If you have the funds available, it wouldn't be a problem. But if you have limited income, it can easily overdraft your checking account and cause other payments to bounce.

I was fair and made every payment for the starter kit which was $59+ a month for about 4 months. The "club" costs of $35 a month without a reason, or even existent, means of termination has so far resulted in $245 for literally one shipment of two bottles of foundation, neither of which match my skin color.

It has taken my bank filing a dispute to stop Luminess from continuing to draft money from my checking account, even WITHOUT them having my debit card number!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Still waiting

It's really sad when you place an order and they charge your credit card, and after almost a month you still haven't received the product. They use your money and then call you with some phony excuse about the shipping address. I'm not a stupid person, but apparently, they think so. It's pathetic when you order from other companies after you placed your order with Luminess Air and received their product within a week. So very disappointing.

If my order is not received within the next couple of days, I plan on turning them into the BBB.

Poor customer service, and they are not truthful!

Ok, just to tell my story! I ordered on a Friday afternoon from a TV infomercial. I received a conformation later that day saying my Air Brush system would be shipped in 2-3 weeks. They billed my card that day for $28.60. On the email was when I discovered the entire system would end up being charged to my card in three equal payments $39.95 (plus a handling fee) over the next three months! That's $150.00! And to add to that, every other month they auto-ship product at a price of $29.95 PLUS S/H. So just beware the system may be a great product, but you have no idea what it will cost you until you order.

Oh and by the way! I called on their next business day to cancel my order, and guess what? It had already been shipped (the email said it would not ship for 2-3- weeks)! Then I discovered when I received the package, it was not shipped until the day after I called to cancel! THEY LIED!

I called when I received the product and they gave a return authorization number (I waited on the line 12 minutes to obtain that number!).

Then they informed me I would have to pay for return shipping, and I never opened the package! So overall, I had to pay $11.38 to return to them! I'll be waiting to see how long it takes to get the credit on my card!

Not a very truthful company as far as I am concerned! Got to watch out for that word "TRY."

Scam

The infomercial leads you to believe you can have the equipment for $19.95 and if you don't like it, you can return it. It does not SAY in the commercial that if you don't return the item, you have to pay the full price for it and that you are also signed into there auto ship.

This is a scam.
