This is a SCAM, Beware!

By Kristen Bailey, Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the Becoming Limitless program that promised great customer support, though no one ever gets back to you. Much of the content and “resources” provided is available online for FREE.

Additionally, most of the content contains repeated stories about Vishen Lakhiani's life. Over and over, the same stories and not much by way of new content.

I've done a lot of personal development seminars, and this is by far this worst! They will not give back a refund either. And customer support is rude when you do finally call because you will not hear back via email.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Misleading!

By Heather, Oregon, Verified Reviewer

I loved the secret, but like they say, lightning only strikes once, if ever. I wish I had read reviews first! Nothing but repeating the same old stuff, it was like a never-ending infomercial. Then I saw that you could get the SAME exact videos on YouTube. I was furious but how do you get your refund for this fraud? You have to call your bank, put in a dispute and cancel your bank card! Fraud, misleading and pain. Shame on John Assaraf.

Awful company!

By Michiko B., Florida, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for a video from a third party person that was being marketed by Mindvalley. The video would not play, and access was only granted after giving them much personal information. I immediately started receiving spam emails from Mindvalley. They continue to spam my inbox with three to seven emails per day. The link to the video, which was finally provided after giving them my email address, appeared on the second screen. When I click on it, the entire video disappears. When I refreshed that page, the video reappeared. When I click on it again, it disappeared again.

I tried to reach their customer service. They do not allow direct access to their customer service. You must go through multiple "help screens" (which are completely useless except for the most extreme imbecile) until you finally have the option to send them an email. So, I sent the email and received yet another email telling me that they would not get back to me for 48 hours. Thankfully, I had chosen a video that was free. Had I spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars with this company, I would be highly irate that they would take so much money, give such poor, poor service, and then refused assistance period for the kind of money that they charge, prompt assistance should be included. It's my hope that another company will start that will put Mindvalley out of business.

As a side note, Mindvalley will not allow fast forwarding or rewinding in their videos. If your child cries, and you miss something said, you must start the entire video over again. This means that if you are 55 minutes into a one-hour video, you must start all over from the very beginning to be able to understand what was said. These kind of decisions are the decisions of a very greedy company. I am really saddened that good people are choosing to use Mindvalley to reach the public.

Company Response from Mindvalley LLC

Nov 6, 2018

Hello Michiko,

I am Greta from Mindvalley team. Please, accept my apologies on behalf of the team about the experience you had. I have checked your case and I noticed that our support agents have addressed it.

It is true that we firstly guide our customers to our customer support center because there they can find immediate answers instead of waiting for the response of our agents. Our direct support aim is to answer all email inquiries as soon as possible, however, we always set expectations of 48 hours in case we have a big amount of emails coming in.

You recently signed up for two masterclasses with Mindvalley, and I am sorry you had difficulties watching them. Your feedback was taken and we double checked possible issues within the team. We always recommend using Google Chrome as it is the most compatible with our platform. Both original and replay links work well and if you wish us to send them, let me know.

As you have asked us to be removed from our database and get no more emails from Mindvalley, I want to assure you that we did that and sent you the confirmation.

If you see that we could serve you in any other way, please let us know.

Greta

SCAM!

By Skye, Verified Reviewer

I was given accesses to a free promotional webinar, which I was unable to watch at the time. "No biggie, they have replays," I thought to myself. So I waited for the replay email to come through.

So, I get the replay link in my inbox, and to my surprise, it sends me to a signup page. I somehow find a page of alternative short-links (and for a moment, think I've struck gold and can watch the webinar at last) but they all tell me to go find the link in my email.

Getting frustrated, I emailed the website through which I was offered this course (Biddy Tarot) and the website itself (Mindvalley Academy) and nobody has replied. All I get is spam-level emails from Mindvalley Academy, begging me to sign up for a paid course. Lovely!

I'm not dropping money on a course that I might not be able to access if I can't catch it live. Any company who has time to spam my inbox, but doesn't have the time to reply to my support ticket is not one I trust.

To me it seems like a giant info gathering scam and I advise you to steer clear!

Don't waste your time, and especially don't waste your money. If something goes wrong you may never hear from their customer support and I highly doubt you'll be getting any money back.

Did Mindvalley intentionally tell me lies to take my money?

By Helen, United Kingdom, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for Jon Butchers My Lifebook course for $500 (they are an affiliate with a good offer on, in theory). I signed up, and PayPal told me it would be $500, but when my payment processed through PayPal and email came through to say they had taken $600 (I also had this happen with another of their courses; I'm in the UK but entered a VAT reg number). I contacted customer service straight away to ask for a refund of the extra $100, which they agreed I should have and would take 3 to 5 working days. Surprisingly long as I know how quick and easy it is to refund through PayPal, but ok.

After a week had passed, and no refund was received, I contacted them again and also started a PayPal dispute for the full $600 as after this experience I no longer wanted to book the course through them. I then had the response back that I had to cancel the PayPal dispute before they could make the refund. This straightaway felt wrong, as I know one of the ways to close a PayPal dispute is for the seller to just refund, and I contacted PayPal directly to double check and to get their advice. They told me that I should not close the dispute as then I would be unable to open it again if I didn't get my money back. And they also said that yes, the seller can refund at any time during a dispute and this closes the dispute. I told this to Mindvalley, and then they refunded it in full.

Did Mindvalley intentionally tell me lies to take my money? For such a large company who must do refunds all the time, it would surprise me if this was a genuine mistake. I'm shocked. I would still like to do the My Lifebook course as this was recommended to me, but I'm surprised that John Butcher would be involved with such a company.

Slick, Expensive Scam.

By Donald Bland , Wilmington, NC

This guy is very slick. He comes at you like an expert car salesman – he got me! He should stay out of American Politics, first and foremost. And you can buy a Steven Halpern CD for a few bucks and save a lot of money. I tried to listen to one of their webinars from a 'Sonia' and I could only stand 2 or 3 minutes. I thought those big eyes and over plastic-surgerized face was going to come through the screen and get me. Run people!

Bummed about the customer service

By Diane G., California, Verified Reviewer

I purchased a "Quest" and am yet to start, so this review will not be about that; however, when purchasing the Quest, the website sold me on a "Mindvalley" University subscription and oddly I felt like it was advertised to me as an additional "quest" for only $249 instead of the $349 I paid for the original quest. After paying the additional $249, I found out I just paid for a subscription to their "university." Honestly, I feel misled. And unfortunately, it gets worst...four days after the purchase, I sent Mindvalley an email requesting a refund in which I got an auto email that notes a response from them within 48 hours. It has been an additional four days, and still I have received no response from them. Talk about poor customer service.

Did I mention that finding an email address for the refund request was almost impossible? Their website leads a person back and for to the same websites that in reality offer no email address for customer service. I want to believe the content on Mindvalley is good, however, the really bad customer service makes me believe this company is just a SCAM.

Totally illegal spamming practices, claiming 'technical glitch'

By Natalia, US, Verified Reviewer

Please do not trust these people to 'empower' you and ask why you are 'sad' because they keep sending emails to promote while unsubscribe buttons DO NOT work and their support system is unresponsive until finally claiming a tech glitch, apologizing and removing your email only to CONTINUE sending marketing emails.

I didn't get far into the service to hand over any money thankfully, just beware!

They do not give refunds, really bad experience

By Dina G., London, England, Verified Reviewer

I understand that their teachers and the content might have some value but their money back policy is a scam.

They deserve 0 stars for the complete lack of customer service. They do not reply within 48 hours as the automatic reply states. They blast you with several emails of how amazing their content is afterward.

My experience points out that the company is a brainwashing machine to generate money.

They promise they refund money. They do not.

They also do not have a customer service telephone number. They communicate only by email.

They say we refund, yes, and then the small print only the annual subscriptions, not the monthly ones. This is not only unfair, but it is literally a trap to generate income without providing any service, because who wants to try the annual first in case things go wrong.

They also do not reply to emails for refunds to explain not even to provide a link. As soon as they receive an email asking for refund and cancellation, they send several emails for how amazing their content is.

In their website, they provide links with very carefully crafted content questions and answers.

It's a Legitimate Company with a "Scammy" Billing Practice

By Zelle, Verified Reviewer

I was "accidentally" subscribed twice to a program. That's something unheard of in any other educational/informational subscription services I've tried/I'm subscribed to. Think having two Spotify Premium plan using the same email/account.

Anyway, I canceled the duplicate account and forgot to cancel the other. I know, I know, I'm partly at fault here. But I didn't get an invoice or email notification for about 5 months. And the only way to cancel the subscription was via email! Then I was later billed, all those past invoices in one day.

In user interface design, you'd definitely call this a "dark pattern." It's not necessarily illegal but it's something that favors the business to the detriment of the user.

If I were you, I'd stay away.

Some content, but mostly sales

By Deb Smith, San Francisco, CA, Verified Reviewer

I was hoping this site might be different, but you're essentially getting an aggregation of various alternative health gurus and all the marketing that goes with them. I'm open to new ideas and approaches, but I get frustrated when "Master Classes" end up to be about 15-30 (at best) minutes of actual content and 60+ minutes of success stories and hype to buy the product, coaching, etc. Now they are free, and I do expect some sales pitches, that's fine. But I basically saw most of the content in the 20 minute pitch that got me signed up for the "Master Class" and didn't need to waste 2 hours of my time. When I step away feeling like I just listened to a late-night TV product pitch, I don't feel you're bringing anything new to the table. Glad the CEO has tried and liked the products, not too surprising, as I'm sure he got to try them for free as a co-marketing arrangement with these folks. Basically, there are some interesting authors here, but you can probably buy their books or programs from them directly and you don't have to subscribe to this web site to find the data -- you can easily find them on PBS and other places on the web (and yes, the website is $1 at first, then you're charged $29 per month for content). Just pushy.
