Love the Navage

By Crystal T. , Auburn, IN

We use our Navage often because of our allergies. I warm our distilled water in the microwave and it works great. Husband took a while to get used to it. He hated it but loves it now. He doesn't get his headaches and sinus infections like he always did. I bought three Navages; one for our daughter and family, one for our son and of course us, very happy with them. Haven't been sick since I bought it.

Length of Use: 2+ years

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

It really does work

Don't need drugs

Having to clean it every use but worth it

If you do not follow directions well, or are impatient, or are a Neanderthal, do not purchase! Otherwise; this gadget is phenomenal! Does exactly what it claims to do. Seem to work pretty good

By Richard Marino, Long Beach, NY, Verified Reviewer

Works pretty good and I have even got it to work twice on one salt pod (not recommended but makes is more affordable, you just have to know how, and I am not saying). Good solid construction. I uses it every other day and reviews have suggested using filtered water to avoid dirty tap water and infections. I like this product.

The "powered" nose vacuum

By William , Washington, Verified Reviewer

I have a chronic nasal restriction. Often I can't taste or smell due to the congestion. For several years I have been using the squeeze bottle with pre-measure salt packets. Since I will do most anything to get a better sinus and nasal state, I bought into Navage.

It works in a more gentle and less messy way than the squeeze and blow bottle method. Navage is less messy, but it doesn't seem to that the power to really evacuate nasal cavities that are even moderately blocked. After using the device, I will blow out (I know it's gross, but effective) the backed up solution and more mucus often is expelled. That means it didn't get sucked out with Navage.

I get a good feeling, however, knowing that I'm tackling the problem from another angle. I would also suggest looking up the YouTube work around video to lower costs by using the less expensive salt packets rather than the Navage pre-packaged ones.

One tip; after loading the Navage, express a bit of solution by activating the switch. I experienced the first flow of solution being cold, and that wasn't comfortable, so just get a bit started in the sink and the rest will be at the temperature of the solution you have loaded.

The machine is bulky and not really stable on its stand. The more frustrating part is that I forget to take it with me when I'm relocating to my mid-week lodging, or on trips. If you like it and get used to it, you might need to invest in two or get the carrying case.

I'd also like tips on the best way to clean it out. The configuration of the device and the bottom tank are such that some of the solution stays in the unit. There isn't really a good way to dry it out.

It works, and if you have chronic problems, it's worth a try. If you have only occasional issues, it's probably too expensive for a moderately effective remedy.

Good, but with caveats

By Ashley C., Columbus, OH, Verified Reviewer

One of the first things I noticed is the Navage is cleverly designed to force you to use up those cartridges. I am fighting really bad allergies right now and I need to run two or three fills of water before I can breathe through both nostrils.

The instructions say the cartridge system is designed so you cannot feel the shock or discomfort or whatever of running straight water. And it seems like they've done a good job of stopping you.

Except you CAN run straight water. Here's the hack. Leave your last used cartridge in there. Then run warm water over the back of the lid, over the lid hinges. The water will seep into the tank. You can run a cycle or two on straight water, then a final cycle with a cartridge. With my passages clear, I immediately inhale a nasal spray type anti-allergy treatment.

Deceptive practices by Navage

By Elbert H., Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the Navage from one of the local Pharmacies. I do not have a problem with the unit, it works very well. My problem is the coupon that came with the unit for a $10.00 discount on the 30-pack of pods. I called the company and they told me the pods were $14.95 for 30 and $7.95 for shipping, which is $23.90 with the $10.00 coupon that came to $13.90 you can buy the pods from Rite Aide for $11.95, where is the savings?

Works ok at first, then not, doesn't work, no way change the battery

By Terry N., Willmar, MN, Verified Reviewer

It is a ripoff. I don't fully understand how it works. I tried for two times and it worked, then I tried the third time and it doesn't work anymore. The product has no way to change the battery. What a piece of crap.

A piece of crap

By Margie S., Sylva, NC, Verified Reviewer

I bought it at CVS, and after having it for a week it stopped working. I took it back and CVS traded with me I have used it 2 times and it stopped working. I don't have a receipt and it doesn't show up I'm my account. They will not trade again. I am so disappointed after wasting my money on something that doesn't work.

Made things worse

By Franklin S., Richland, WA, Verified Reviewer

Used Navage to clear my sinuses. The leftover distilled salt water only made things worse. I went from my left side being blocked to both sides being blocked. It has now been a week and I'm still not able to breathe correctly. I realize Navage is not a fix-all but to come out worse than I started is just no good.

Length of Use: Less than 3 months

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

The hype that it would indeed help

Couldn't pull the water through my sinuses

Glad it's returnable

By Linda D., California, Verified Reviewer

The SinuPulse has proven for me to be the best choice. I don't worry about cross-contamination, which has been reported with the Navage. It's better to have all that infected mucus go down the drain than be captured in a plastic canister that you need to clean really well and can cross-contaminate the rest of the unit. I don't understand why folks don't realize this, plus the idea of having to use their own ridiculously expensive proprietary salt pods is a racket.
