About Nouveau Skin Care

There’s a lot that Nouveau Skin Care—an anti-aging cream sold only online—claims to do. Using a proprietary blend of a face-firming peptide, Biosphere, Biofil spheres, essential vitamins, and antioxidants, Nouveau Skin Care can help decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, boost collagen production, smooth and repair skin, and more.

In fact, Nouveau is so powerful that it’s considered “better than Botox,” which is why it’s become the “amazing new Hollywood secret”!

Look, we know your time is limited so we won’t beat around the bush: When it comes down to it, we think your money would be better spent on just about anything other than Nouveau Skin Care. But why are we coming down so hard on this serum, and how can we be so sure?

These are all great questions! To start answering them, let’s take a closer look at Nouveau’s patented formulation.

How Effective Are Nouveau Skin Care’s Ingredients?

There isn’t a product label anywhere on the Nouveau website, but after reading through the whole thing, here’s what we’re told it contains:

Notice how there’s no hyperlink for Biosphere or Biofil spheres? This is because they don’t appear to be real ingredients. Instead, they’re only found on anti-aging websites that use this same design template (more about this next). And although QuSome might help improve the effectiveness of active ingredients, doesn’t provide any benefits itself.

Finally, although vitamins and antioxidants are generally a good thing, these terms are so broad that they’re essentially meaningless here.

Now, let’s talk more about these anti-aging websites.

Order In Chaos: The Template-Based Anti-Aging Industry

When it comes to anti-aging products, you basically have three different tiers:

  1. Mainstream products from national companies sold at local retailers.
  2. Products sold only online, but which come from reputable companies.
  3. Those sold only online and come from companies you’ve never heard from (if you can uncover their name in the first place).

Of these, Nouveau falls in the third tier. But here’s the thing: An entire third-tier “sub-industry” has appeared over the last couple years, where many of these companies reuse the exact same website template over and over. What’s the reason?

We covered everything in detail in Avoid These Anti-Aging Websites Like the Plague, but in a nutshell, here’s what we think is going on. A company will sell their anti-aging product under one name for a while, until too much negative customer feedback appears online.

Then, they’ll pull the website down, make up a new product name, change the website address and image in the template, post the site, and they’re back up and running in no time flat. Don’t believe us? Compare the sites for popular products like Encante Cream, NuPlenish Skincare, and True Derma Lift, and you’ll find that they’re basically identical to Nouveau Skin Care.

What’s got everyone so upset, though? We’ll get to that in just a second, but before we do, let’s discuss Nouveau’s price.

Nouveau Skin Care’s Trial & Autoship Enrollment

Like every one of these other products, Nouveau Skin Care is only available through a trial. You’ll pay $4.95 to receive a full 30-day supply, and after 14 days have passed, you’ll be charged the full price of $89.75.

In addition, you’ll continue receiving a fresh supply of Nouveau once per month through their autoship program, and your card will be charged $89.75 each time. But whether it’s for an anti-aging product or something else altogether, we generally recommend avoiding products sold only through free trials.

According to the company’s Terms & Conditions, you can cancel your trial or stop your automatic shipments by calling customer service at 888-694-4574. You can also request a refund within 30 days, although this will be less S&H charges and a $19.95 restocking fee.

In reality though, we think you’ll have a very difficult time accomplishing anything through customer service. Why? Now it’s time to talk about customer reviews for products like Nouveau Skin Care.

Is Nouveau Skin Care a Reputable Product?

It doesn’t matter which template-based anti-aging product you’re talking about, or where you’re reading the reviews, nearly all come with bottom-of-the-barrel online customer feedback. And 9 out of 10 times, these complaints reference one or more of the following:

  • Ineffective. Quite simply, they just don’t work. In a lot of cases, customers complained that their skin became overdried, while some experience mild to moderate side effectives like redness, burning, and rashes.
  • Expensive. Paying nearly $100 for a product that doesn’t work isn’t bound to make anyone happy.
  • Lousy customer service. Here’s what we think is the lynchpin for these companies. They know people will soon call and demand refunds, so they specifically train their service staff to make it as difficult as possible, which might include yelling at you or hanging up in you ear.

Since Nouveau Skin Care was so new at the time of our research, we didn’t encounter any online feedback. But given the fact that the product is indistinguishable from all these other options, we think it’s likely you’ll experience much of the same.

Is Nouveau Skin Care Just a Common Anti-Aging Scam?

We think it’s important to remain unbiased when reviewing a product, but we also think it’s important to state our opinions and make you aware of any red flags when we can back everything up with evidence.

So, in the case of Nouveau Skin Care, given what we’ve discussed here today, we think it’s just another ploy to steal your hard-earned money and stress you out in the process. What can you do instead? Read about tried-and-true methods of preventing wrinkles in the first place, and how to avoid being conned into paying ultra-high prices!

Another scam to take money from your account.

    • New Jersey,

Another scam! You order thinking you get to try it, but it never tells you the price you will be charged if you don’t discontinue it within 14 days! How are you to try a new product and know the effects in 14 days? Most reputable companies give you 30 days.

When you call the customer service, they were not friendly, and when asked to talk to a supervisor they hang up. I had to call back three times to be told the supervisor was busy and they would not refund my money. If this was a reputable company, they would have let me return the product and refunded my money!

This company, Nouveau Beauty, is not even backed by the BBB. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company and product! Scam!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Do not buy

Not only does it not work, but after one week you will get an additional $90 charged on your credit card for each product ordered and put on a program for monthly delivery and payment to your card. Being a widow on a fixed income, I cannot afford this. When I called, they told me that when I ordered the $5 sample, I had agreed to the charges and deliveries every month. I had no clue I had done that, and I thought I had read closely. The best they could do is give me 30% back and cancel the auto delivery. That is still more than it is worth! No more online ordering for me!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    They got me too!

    • Charlotte, NC,
    • Mar 12, 2018

They got me too! I wasn't aware of 14-day return policy. I placed an order for the trial size cream but was billed for cream and eye serum! My bank statement showed a payment of $84.97 had been paid to this company!

After being on the phone for 40+ minutes, including being told I couldn't even get the supervisor's name or number, I finally spoke with Victor, who offered a 50% refund. I just checked my bank account again and see that they charged me $89.94 for a face cream that was supposed to have been canceled. Furious, I called again, and again was told I could only get first 35% back, but being persistent, they offered me 50% back.

I read the review about mentioning BBB. I called right back and mentioned BBB, now I'm to get 100% refund! It's a shame that we have to go through so much with these worthless products and very bad customer service (although they were polite), and then get duped out of our hard earned money! If you purchased their crampy product within 30 days, call back and threaten to call BBB to get your money back!

Also, I tried to get their address and was told it's against company policy to give out that information! They also stated that they are listed with the BBB!

    Beware, scam!

I had ordered this and they said absolutely no cost except for $4.95 shipping, that’s it. The next thing you know, there was around $180 taken out of my checking account that was unauthorized. I am on disability and on a fixed income. These people are nothing but scammers preying on innocent people. They need to be put out of business.

    Nouveau restoration products

The products ordered are no better than drugstore possibilities. That 14-day trial period before full charge is not clear. I looked in such detail. And certainly, no information for return or cancellation was contained within the package. When I called to challenge the charge, I was turned down. It is hard to lose over $170 for no good reason. I would never recommend it.

    Filed a complaint

I did file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission who oversees these scam companies. Hopefully, I will have more to report. After all, how can one determine how effective the product is in only 14 days?!

As a follow-up, I did file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission who oversee these businesses. How in the world can you decide if these products are effective in only 14 days?

    Scam!

Neither the eye serum or the skin cream helped me one little bit. The website is not clear that they charge you if you do not cancel within 14 days. I called to cancel this scam and their rep, Christian (agent #186), would not credit anything, even though he first offered a 50% discount on future orders, then he upped that to a 60% discount. I asked him to honor the 60% discount on what they already billed and he would not.

Do NOT do business with these people! I want to know the government agency who can crack down on this bogus company.

This is definitely a scam. Do not even TRY it! I was trapped in it and called their customer service and disputed the amount they charged me that I never agreed to. Now they said they will refund me half price that I paid.

How did you manage to get half price? I filed with the FTC and hopefully, they will help. In the meantime, how did you do that? I’d take that any day.

    Real scam

    • Newcastle, Australia,

My mother had ordered a free trial, which didn't arrive on time in June before she went back to Singapore. However, since then, they have been sending the items to my home, which my mother never really ordered in June. All she wanted to try was a trial.

My mother just returned to Newcastle in December, and we can't even find a contact number to call them to cancel the items.

    Can anyone please help?

    Thank you.

Be careful! I fell into their trap easily!

I fell into the internet scam trap easily. By the time I found out the super high charges, my credit card was charged three times. Nowhere do they tell you clearly about the 14-day trial and the exact charge after the 14 days trial. After I questioned them today about the charge, they answered that I agreed to the terms, and they said the term details were just a few clicks away! Funny, why can't they put the terms clearly on the screen, why do they try so hard to hide it? The reason is that they want to trap you, and many are trapped, cheated, and robbed by them. I hope you get this message on time and try your best to avoid being the next victim! Good luck to you.

    I got duped!

I recently ordered the "trial" offer from Nouveau. No, I didn't see the fine print concerning canceling. When I received the first charges on my credit card, I meant to call them to cancel. Well, shame on me, I forgot! Then I receive a second package and charge to my credit card.

I called to cancel and ask for a refund. Well, the second shipment was charged on 8/17 to my card, and this is 9/13 that I called. That is clearly within 30 days of the charge. I was told that the returned package would not be received by them before the end of the 30 days. Therefore they couldn't refund that money. I told them I was talking with them and canceling within the 30 days. They wouldn't hear of it!

Finally, after going round and round, I was told to keep the products and they would refund 30%. This stuff is still going to be returned! I consider it "lesson learned!"

    NEVER fall for this come-on

If you do not read their terms and conditions, you will be duped into a more than full priced promo with a recurring charge every month.

The trial size is 0.5 oz and is overpriced crap. This company has done its homework on self-protection mumbo legal jumbo.

DO NOT buy a Nouveau product!
