About NuWave Oven Pro Plus
How’d you like to cook healthier food, in less time and using less energy? Although it might be small, the NuWave Oven Pro Plus claims to pack a big punch. How?
By using a specially engineered design to release fat and grease from food, while maintaining the natural juices, means you’ll be eating healthier, tastier food in no time. And speaking of time, the NuWave Over Pro Plus’ Triple Combo Cooking Power uses three different technologies—conduction, convection, infrared—to cook food up to 70% faster while using up to 77% less energy than a conventional oven.
And the Oven Pro Plus does all of this with just the push of a button! Then, when you’re finished cooking, NuWave Oven Pro Plus is dishwasher safe, so cleanup takes only seconds.
After watching the Oven Pro Plus commercial, this is probably your biggest question: “ Can it really help me eat healthier while cooking at home, or will I pay too much and get too little in return?” That’s exactly what we’re here to help you answer.
First up? Let’s see what’s different with the Oven Pro Plus.
NuWave Oven vs. Oven Pro Plus
Compared to the original NuWave Oven (we’ll come back to this in a minute), the Oven Pro Plus includes many of the same features:
- Fast, Easy, Healthy Cooking – Food is cooked on a raised rack, which allows fat and grease to drip away. All of this is accomplished with the touch of a button, and your food will be finished “in a matter of minutes.” It’ll even keep food warm and automatically shut itself off when it’s done!
- Triple Combo Cooking Power – Combines conduction, convection, and infrared cooking technologies to cook your food from the outside and inside, resulting in flavorful, juicy food (despite being healthier). This technology also allows you cook from frozen without defrosting or pre-heating. We’ll explore this in greater detail in the next section.
- Compact Size & Light Weight – Like the original, NuWave Oven Pro Plus also features a small design and weighs less than 10 pounds, so it’s “perfectly portable.” You can take it with you wherever you go (as long as you have a power supply), including RVing, camping, or in the comfort of your own home.
But what puts the “pro” in Over Pro Plus? According to the manufacturer, it includes several new features. This includes:
- Advanced Temperature Control – Allows you to cook at any temperature from 100° to 350° in 1° increments. Delay and warm settings also “ensure that your meal is ready on your schedule.”
- Shatter-resistant Power Dome – Guaranteed never to warp, chip, or crack and to provide years of worry-free cooking.
Although these are certainly some great new features, the heart of the original—and now the Oven Pro Plus—is the way it cooks your food, so let’s take a closer look and see how it works.
Conduction, Convection, and Infrared—Oh My!
We’re going to get a little science-y here, but stick with us. After all, it’ll help you make a more informed purchase!
As we touched on above, the NuWave Oven Pro Plus’ Triple Combo Cooking Power uses three different technologies to cook from the outside and inside at the same time: conduction, convection, and infrared. What are these, exactly?
Conduction occurs when radiant heat is transferred directly from the source to your food, which is the “normal” way to cook. When using conduction, you’re cooking from the outside-in.
Convection cooking uses the same radiant heat as conduction, but adds an internal fan to circulate hot air. This way, all the heat inside is distributed evenly, decreasing the chance of hot and cold spots.
Finally, while the precise details are far outside the scope of this review, infrared waves (a type of radiation) can reach high temperatures very quickly, which helps caramelize the outside of your food for tender, juicy, and delicious results.
Taken together, this means the NuWave Oven Pro Plus can cook your food better (depending on your preferences) and faster! Speaking of preferences, what’s everyone saying about the Oven Pro Plus?
How Are Customers Responding To the NuWave Oven Pro Plus?
On Amazon, the Oven Pro Plus (with stainless steel extender ring) had 180 customer reviews, who gave the device an average rating of 4.5 stars. Common compliments cited ease of use and great tasting results, while common complaints included poor quality (usually that the Power Dome eventually cracks or warps), that the fan dries out food, and that it can take some experimenting to achieve ideal results.
Here on HighYa, the original NuWave Oven had seven customer reviews with a 4.1-star rating. In fact, other than one customer who didn’t like that it only goes to 350° (which is something you’ll also find with the Pro Plus model), the original received all 5-star reviews.
Given its popularity and high ratings, is there anything else out there quite like the NuWave Oven Pro Plus?
How “Revolutionary” Is the NuWave Oven Pro Plus?
We’ll cut right to the chase and tell you that, if you’re looking for something else that performs exactly like the Oven Pro Plus, you’re out of luck. Why? Because the product seems to be wholly unique—especially at this price point (more next).
Sure, you’ll find dozens of countertop ovens in all shapes and sizes, many of which can be purchased through local retailers, but most only feature convection cooking. You can find some models that use both convection and infrared, but they’ll also come at a much higher price tag (usually in the $300 to $500 range). Comparatively, how much foes the Oven Pro Plus cost?
How Much Will You Pay For the Oven Pro Plus?
The NuWave Oven Pro Plus will cost you three payments of $39.95 plus $29.95 S&H, bringing your total to $149.80. For this price, your order will include:
- Instructional DVD
- Quick & Easy Cooking Guide
- 1 Year Top-To-Bottom Warranty
- NuWave Oven Complete Cookbook
- NuWave Cooking Club Membership, which gives you “access to videos, recipes, tips, and tricks.”
During checkout, you’ll also be able to purchase a “free” NuWave Party Mixer and NuWave Twister for an additional $24.95 S&H.
All NuWave Oven Pro Plusses come with a 90-day refund policy, less S&H. Given its weight, it’ll probably cost a decent chunk of change to ship it back to the manufacturer, meaning you could lose $50+ just for giving it a try (much more if you purchased the “free” items!).

Will the NuWave Oven Pro Plus Help You Cook Healthy?
Since it’s a new year, you’ve probably got resolutions stacked to the ceiling, one of which is to eat healthier. But will the Oven Pro Plus help get you there?
In short, it depends. Why? Mainly, because ‘healthier’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘healthy.’ Here’s a quick (and admittedly simplistic) example to outline what we mean: You love cooking steaks, and you always marinate yours in a blend of oils—which are high in fat—and spices a couple days in advance to allow all the flavor to soak in.
When you cook a steak on the Oven Pro Plus’ raised rack, this will allow some of the fat and grease to drip away, thereby reducing its overall calorie content. However, because all the oils had plenty of time to soak into the meat, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re cooking healthy; only that you’re reducing some of the calories on an otherwise unhealthy piece of meat.
What’s the point? Unless you’re frying something, how healthy your food is depends more on the ingredients you’re using, and less on how you’re cooking it.
Is NuWave Oven Pro Plus Worth the Money?
Ultimately, since everyone has their own set of wants and needs, this is only something you can decide. But given the fact that the Oven Pro Plus might help you cook somewhat healthier, while cooking faster and with less energy, means that it might just find a place on your kitchen counter.
On top of this, most customers seem happy with their purchases, and have nothing but good things to say about their experiences. But if you do decide to make the leap, we might recommend buying locally (or online with a company who charges less in S&H), which could save you a decent amount of money—especially if you’re not satisfied and decide to process a return.
Speaking of which, what did you experience with the NuWave Oven Pro Plus? Did it mean your needs, or was it a total flop? Share all the juicy details by writing a review below!

Price = lie
The price shown, $150 for the two NuWaves and other accessories is $120 too low. You cannot see until after you confirm the sale. Shipping and handling was $120.00. I feel scammed.
I had a cheaper version that I actually liked better but thought I'd try the real thing after the other got destroyed. I could have bought seven of the Aldis version, which was great.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Four years later, no cracks. Don't put the dome in the dishwasher, wipe it down. The grill and pan can go in the dishwasher. I love this oven; chicken wings are what I use it for primarily! Crispy outside, juicy inside. I've cooked tons of stuff, including steak! I WILL be buying another since I'm finding the cook times are getting longer as the years go by. Use a thermometer to be safe, but I can tell you this oven is easy to use, fast and a healthy choice. It does not dry food out, always delicious!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
