About Omax3

By HighYa Research Team
Updated on: Oct 9, 2017

Developed by physicians associated with Yale University, Omax3 claims to be an “ultra-pure” omega-3 supplement that contains “93.9% pure omega-3,” and is a patented formula with a high ratio of EPA to target inflammation.

In addition, the manufacturer claims that omax3 has no fishy aftertaste, and is third-party tested for purity and concentration.

Omax3 is manufactured by Omax Health, Inc. formerly known as Prevention Pharmaceuticals, Inc. based out of New Hope, PA. Omax Health is not rated with the Better Business Bureau at the time of this writing.

How Omax3 Works

According to the Omax3 website, most people don’t get enough omega-3s, which contain the essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, from their diet. These nutrients are an important part of overall health, as they improve heart, joint, eye, and brain health, balance your body’s inflammatory response, and reduce triglyceride levels.

To put this in perspective, one dose of Omax3 is claimed to contain the same omega-3 content as 16 krill oil softgels.

With this in mind, the product’s website claims that the leading store-bought omega-3 supplements only include 30% omega-3, while Omax3 contains “93.9% concentration.”

On top of this, the product is claimed to be easy to swallow, to cause no fishy odor or aftertaste, and to be twice tested for purity —especially when it comes to saturated fats. The product is NSF tested, which is a third-party that certifies products for it’s contents.

In fact, Omax3 is claimed to have “93.9% pure omega-3 content” and to be double molecular distilled, which is a pharmaceutical process to remove omega-6 fatty acids, as well as fish-related contaminants such as mercury, lead, and PCBs. To prove this point, images on the product’s website shows several frozen Omax3 softgels next to the leading competitor’s.

After taking a closer look, the Omax3 capsules are completely clear, while the competitor’s have turned cloudy. According to the company, this cloudiness is a result of all the saturated fats, which are not contained in Omax3.

The ingredient list for Omax3 contains only the following:

  • Vitamin E 10 IU
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids 1.5g

All Omax3 batches are third-party tested to ensure purity, and in order to begin experiencing benefits, you’ll simply need to take 2 softgels daily. According to the company’s website, Omax3 cause no known side effects.

Omax3 Pricing & Refund Policy

While Omax3 is available through Amazon.com and Vitamin Shoppe, if purchased directly through the manufacturer at omaxhealth.com, you’ll have more options:

If purchased elsewhere, refund policies will vary by retailer.

Bottom Line: Is Omax3 a Scam?

According to WebMD, omega-3s have been demonstrated time and time again to have a wide variety of health benefits. However, WebMD also claims that it’s best to obtain omega-3s directly through fish, instead of through a supplement. With this in mind though, Omax3 is claimed to be derived from anchovies and sardines, which are shown to be some of the best fish from which to obtain omega-3s.

Based on our research, it appears that Omax3 was previously manufactured by Cenestra Health, LLC, which changed to Prevention Pharmaceuticals sometime between May and August of 2011. Prevention Pharmaceuticals changed their name to Omax Health, Inc. in September of 2017 with new management and a commitment to expand into a leading health and wellness brand.

They launched a health and wellness blog at blog.omaxhealth.com and a new website at omaxhealth.com.

Finally, most online Omax3 reviews are on amazon.com or at TrustPilot from customers who have tried the product, most of which appeared to be positive, with no common complaints.

Bottom line: If you’re going to begin taking an omega-3 supplement, Omax3 appears to be a solid choice. However, keep in mind that you should always consult with your physician before beginning any new supplement regimen.

I like this. I have tried many other brands but by far this has worked the best. At my age of 55, my skin-hair has improved and joints feel much better all in week-2 of using this. Can't wait until my physical in two weeks. Cholesterol has been high in the past so this will be the real test.

After so many years standing to do my job left me with excruciating pain. I was taking 1000 MG of ibuprofen every night so that I could get a little sleep. One evening I was flipping channels and saw the infomercial for Supplement. I have to admit I was a skeptic, however I was willing to try anything. I new all the pain pills were going to damage my liver. So, I placed an order and after two weeks the pain was almost completely gone. I call it nothing less than a miracle. Yes I would recommend to anyone in severe pain.

Great for a serious fish-oil user

I think this is a good product. I've been taking fish oils for a few years, and this is the best one I've taken. I had a skin condition on my arms and it went away after I started taking Omax3. The website for the free trial appears to be like a scam because it automatically puts you on an auto-ship, so watch out. It's not too bad if you get the 3-box deal on the website. I bought it for my wife and my father.

My husband and I have been using Omax3 for 3 weeks and I can truthfully say we both have noticed a big improvement on various areas. One is my husbands bone pain. He was in such pain that he had been prescribed a very expensive med that did nothing to his pain. After 3 weeks, no pain. I also noticed the improvement in my fingers. I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis on my hands and I have noticed that I am able to open any bottled water. I had to ask for help just to open a water. Amazing, also the energy I feel has me believing that the Omax3 worked for both my husband and I. I am waiting for my lab work on my cholesterol, I am confident that it has gone down.

Helped my cholesterol without burping fish

    • Bloomington, IL,
    • Oct 18, 2015

I have been on cholesterol medicines for about two years. When I was tested 6 months ago, I was at 190, but my subcategories were still all wrong. I decided to try Omax3 mainly for my dry skin. I was pleasantly surprised with my most recent cholesterol was 170 and all my subcategories were in the normal range! Taking the omax3 was the only thing I did differently. I had changed my eating and exercising for the last 2 years but I'm sure this was the change.

I only took one capsule a day instead of the recommended two, because I had taken fish oil in the past and couldn't stand burping fish all day. No burping with the one capsule, but I do seem to have more gas. I can control that. I ordered through Amazon.

    Great for winter depression

    • Atlanta, GA,
    • Feb 28, 2016

I have always had Seasonal Effective Disorder (SAD) (aka winter depression, not linked to year-round depression), and this winter, I have been managing it with strategic, almost excessive (but not quite), use of Biotech's D3 50,000 IU (taking three doses, four times a week). I take Cal-Mag daily, which helps the body absorb D3, and helps prevent bone density loss from birth control. Anyway, I found a bunch of studies showing that Omega 3 with high EPA and low DHA are super beneficial to SAD. Within a week of adding this into my vitamin regimen, I noticed a difference in my overall mood/outlook. I'm very sensitive to serotonin fluctuations, so this was great.

Sadly, the price has jumped $20 (I paid $32, but it's now $49) in the three weeks since I bought it first. I'm still going to shell it out, though. The way I see it, I just need it for four to five months a year, so it's definitely worth it, and way better than paying for chemical SSRIs!

    Works but beware

This product is great and really worked to ease my joint pain but the pain is back since I discontinued using OMAX3.

Why would I quit using this miracle product? Unfortunately, if using for joint pain, one must take 4 of the capsules a day and I can't afford the product.

I told the person with whom I initially placed my order repeatedly that I was talking this for joint pain and he said nothing about doubling my order to take pet instructions. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I read the instructions.

I am currently looking for an affordable alternative.

Company Response from Omax Health, Inc.

Hi Peg, the cost is due to the high-concentration of EPA omega-3 fatty acids thus, the clear omega-3. We have a "New Subscriber and Save Program" at omaxhealth.com that may help lower the cost. Most of our customers purchase the 6-pack to get the best savings.

      Thank you for reviewing Omax3.

I have been using Omax3 for almost two years. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I am on a prescription medication for it. Taking Omax3 has decreased the need for me to take anti-inflammatory medication. It has also brought my cholesterol levels down to normal.

This is a great product. I am a health care professional, and I recommend this product to my patients on a regular basis. I have not been compensated for this review.

    Really helped my back pain

I started taking Omax3 on a trial basis, but with nothing particular in mind that I was looking to accomplish. I just thought it would be good for my heart health since I did have A-Flutter (with Oblation surgery last year) and a stent put in last year as well.

After about a week of taking one Omax3 per day, my back pain was cut from a normal 6-7 on a good day (on a scale of 10), 8-9 on a bad day, to what remains around a 3-4 and sometimes even a 2-3. I had started wearing a back brace at the same time and originally thought the brace was the reason for the drop in pain. But I have since dropped the brace and now know it's the Omax3.

I played basketball professionally many years ago and always had something of a stiff back. I also broke my back and pelvis in a motorcycle accident 12 years ago and just recently found out through an MRI that my L4 is slipping off my L5. So I assumed the chronic pain was something that will be with me for the rest of my life. And it was killing my golf game, but that's not something I was ready to give up on. Now I don't have to give it up. I have been amazed by what has happened to me.
