One Second Slicer Review

By HighYa Research Team
Published on: Nov 29, 2014

About the size of a loaf of bread, the One Second Slicer is claimed to be an all-in-one food preparation station that gives you the ability to slice and serve vegetables, fruits, meats, fish, and eggs with the speed of a professional chef, including dicing, chopping, mincing, julienning, and quartering. In fact, the One Second Slicer is claimed to slice whole potatoes in one second and full size fruit salads in less than 60 seconds, while also allowing you to finally stop crying when chopping onions.

One Second Slicer’s stainless steel blades are claimed to remain sharp, and its storage lids are claimed to seal in your food’s freshness and to stack with ease. Because of this, the One Second Slicer is claimed to help you do it all, including slicing, serving, stacking, and storing, all in one device.

Once you’re finished using your One Second Slicer, the manufacturer claims you simply push a button to release the remnants from the blades, and then rinse or place in the dishwasher. After cleaning, all of the One Second Slicer’s parts are claimed to fit inside the container for easy storage.

Sure, you want to spend quality time with your family, but you also want to serve them delicious food. So can the One Second Slicer help you prepare more food in less time? Consider the following:

Does the One Second Slicer Work as Well as it Claims?

One Second Slicer is a very new product, so no online reviews were available at the time of our research that could be used to verify how well the chopping system works.

In order to dig a little further, we searched for the company’s toll-free ordering/customer service phone numbers and found that it is manufactured by Trisales Marketing LLC based out of Upstate New York. Unfortunately, the company doesn’t have a website and isn’t listed with the Better Business Bureau.

With all of this said, the One Second Slicer appears to be somewhat similar to Chop Magic. Based on more than 80 HighYa reviews for this product, it has a 1.5-star rating with common complaints citing that it will only chop softer foods (e.g. eggs, cheeses, deli meats, etc.), and that the product begins falling apart after only a few uses. Granted, this is a different product from a different manufacturer, but many other “As Seen on TV” chopping devices carry these same complaints, so you might experience the same with your One Second Slicer.

One Second Slicer Pricing and Refund Policy

The One Second Slicer is priced at $19.95 plus $7.95 S&H, and you’ll be required to purchase a second set for an additional $7.95, bringing your total to $35.85. For this price, you’ll receive the following:

  • Two 1 Second Slicers™
  • Two Hinged Cutting Lids
  • Two Clear Storage Containers
  • Two Stainless Steel Blade Inserts
  • Two Snap-On Fresh Keeping Lids
  • PLUS Two 1 Second V Slicer™3-Piece Sets

The One Second Slicer comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. This means that you’ll immediately lose $15.90 if you decide to return the product, and by the time you factor in return shipping charges back to the manufacturer, you could end up receiving less as a refund than what you’ll spend on S&H charges.

In order to request a refund, you’ll need to contact customer service at 866-972-3828.

The Bottom Line

Based on the consumer reputations for very similar ASOTV devices, we’d be skeptical about many of the product’s claims.

However, if you absolutely must have some type of inexpensive chopping device like the One Second Slicer, you’ll be able to find a wide variety of options at retailers near you. This way, in the event you’re dissatisfied, you can easily return the product and save a good chunk of change in S&H charges.

    Disappointed

    • Mount Airy NC,
    • Jan 17, 2016

I bought my slicer at Walgreens drugstore in the as seen on TV section. The cost was $19.99 plus tax. I haven't used it yet, but I have a Vidalia Chop Wizard and I like it. My complaint is that it only has one set of blades, and they are not the size that they show on TV. One side is about the size for French fries and the other side is 4 quarter size. I don't see ever using it. There is no size for julienne slices or for cubes. I may return it to the store for a refund, because it is not much different than the one I already have.

    SCAM, do not buy!

I also purchased one slicer to get the other for free. They sent me 6, I ended up paying $137. I called and returned them as quickly as I could and only got $35 back, when they assured me that they would get me refunded. I called back again and they said they didn't know who told me this and that I would not be getting my money back. Don't buy, beware they will take out of your bank account without your permission.

    Scammed, not happy

    • Kent, WA,
    • Jul 12, 2015

I too ordered one and the second one for free. I was surprised when I saw $71.70 taken out of bank account. I called and the guy turned the blame on me. No, actually they scammed me so now have four of these coming my way. I'm not opening them and I will send them back. Sure I have to pay S&H and I'm betting they count on people not doing that.

    Having a return problem

    • Kingwood, Texas,
    • Jan 7, 2015

I am having a terrible time trying to return one that I DID NOT order. I ordered 1 & get one free & they sent 2 so I am now stuck with 4 slicers & they will not give me instructions on how to return the 1. I have called them 4 times & they say they will send the information on how to return it but I still don't have it. This has been going on since Dec. 26. By the way, I thought I was being charged $35.85 & I saw the bill & it was 91.70.

    Website Issues

    • NC,
    • Dec 26, 2014

I went on the site to order 1 slicer, then it said buy 1 get one free. When I clicked it, after entering my payment information. It calculated that I ordered 3. I did not and there was NO WAY to change it. I am still looking for my email and a customer service number to correct this matter.

Don't waste your time and be careful.
