Very dissatisfied

By Janet S., Bedford Corners, NY, Verified Reviewer

I bought a 6-month subscription and wrote my profile using about the 1200 characters I later learned was the limit. Three days later I went to edit it and was now limited to 200 characters - "their new limit." One week later I realized they had charged PayPal not only $108.10 but $23.83 and $27.08 for no known reason. Many "flirts" from all over the country asked for my email or phone number to avoid using the site. One person wrote saying his account had been hacked and it wasn’t he who had written asking for my phone/email and to "be very careful." Many have no photo or don’t match the description I gave to OurTime of the type of person I was interested in. Occasionally profiles appeared to be fake or had pictures of women. After 3 days I contacted them about my misgivings but they wouldn’t let me cancel any part of the subscription.

Perhaps this is the nature of online dating - but it’s not for me.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hyperactive Automation and Signals

By BT , Memphis, TN

I feel that the site was not worth the money at all.

  1. Profile space is limited by character to much less than other sites.
  2. The automation is hyperactive and the layout confusing. It give you the impression there is activity there when there is none.
  3. The automation asks you to compare two member photos and if you like one image more than the other, it generates an interest message to them, whether you intended to or not.
  4. There is a start that indicated I was someone;s favorite every time I open it, and when I try to find out who, it just disappears.
  5. Search tool has very few search options compared to other sites.
  6. The available to chat markers are always on, and when I type a message, it always changes to user off-line 99 percent of the time.

I think it's a completely bogus dating web site.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Scammers playground

By Timothy Mathes, Saint Clair Shores, MI, Verified Reviewer

Two days into my membership and I knew it was a mistake. I was flooded with out of area/state scammers (under 50 years old). The website is difficult to navigate and steers you towards buying program upgrades. The cancellation process is near impossible! Don't get suckered into OurTime.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worst than "FakeNews"

By Michael R., Phoenix, AZ, Verified Reviewer

I had been on this website for about a week when I noticed that out of the at least 30 inquiries to the members on this site, I HAD NO REPLIES! I check into the matter and was told that I was putting in information that was too specific and the message was deleted. Nice that I check into it, otherwise, I would still be waiting for a reply from members.

I made the corrections that were required and sent out inquiries to possible members and waited for a reply. No replies after a couple of days of waiting. Most people check their email at least once a day by computer or by phone. I found out that they did receive my inquiries! 90% of the members I inquired about were "Ghosts."

Did not exist! I tried different members and same thing. Ghosts! I may not be Mr. Wonderful with my picture I presented, but one would think that at least one member would respond.

My computer matches were also a useless joke! I live in Arizona and why would I want to go to California, Kansas, Texas and other out of state places to meet someone for a cup of coffee and some conversation? You got to be desperate or crazy!

When I decided to write this review, I found other reviews that were finding the same thing. This website is definitely a fraud. Don't waste your money. More important, don't waste your TIME! Can you believe that this site had a 9.6 out of 10 rating!? Another joke. I checked into other sights and all are just as bad, and all have a 9-point rating or better. STAY AWAY!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

From actual experience, it's a scam

By Paul M., Washington, Verified Reviewer

OurTime is a joke!

I'm a guy looking for a woman. An average joe.

I signed up for six months. I'm a sucker! So, the review is based on experience.

A limited amount of information on potentials. Limited to 140 characters. So, it's always a shot in the dark. Based on looks only. I fall short, haha. But then, so do the women!

Very few potentials actually available. The site will continue to post profile info even though the member is gone! You can tell by looking at your flirts sent. It will note when the member was last online. That could be 6 months ago! Most women never respond even if they are active. I guess they are not interested in me and I'm cool with that. It's a numbers game.

I live in a metro area. 600 matches are said to be available after setting the filters for slender/average, my age range +/- 5 years, Caucasian, any height...50 miles. Actually, about 30 are. The rest don't exist anymore! False and misleading, for sure! Out of the 30, I got one date!

Scammers continually send you flirts in order for you to send them your email or for you to contact them. OurTime does little to stop them.

As for dating sites. I get the impression women are simply window shopping. No one seems serious.

So much false info from women. "A few extra pounds" means obese in most cases.

Spend your money on a movie or two. It will be way better entertainment!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

OurTime a lousy site and bad experience!

By Tom S., Port Richy, FL, Verified Reviewer

Joined this crappy site yesterday. Spent 8 hours (really) trying to get the site to work...and it does not! For me at least. Called customer service to cancel my account and have what I posted removed. Luckily I just signed up for $18. When I canceled, the bums took my entire fee! Moreover, these jerks charged me a one-time fee of $8 on top of their monthly fee. This was not disclosed. Anyone fool enough to sign up here deserves what they get.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Poor review

By Bruce W., Sacramento, CA, Verified Reviewer

Not a user-friendly sigh up site. Almost gave up. Member for two months and bailed. Scammers a-plenty, and most members are insincere. Looking for a sugar daddy I suspect. However, best member profiles I have encountered when genuine.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

OurTime Is a Total Waste of Money - Use of "Promote Me" Tokens are a Scammer Magnet

By Eric , Atlanta, GA

IN MY OPINION:

OurTime is promoting the use of its site by scammers as the following examples demonstrate:

1) Allowing the use of Tags which include phrases like "Text me", "at six 7 2", "GEmail", etc. People that create these tags have no intention of communicating via OurTime. Their only desire is to get you off of the OurTime system as fast as possible before someone reports them to OurTime as scammers. OurTime should stop allowing the use of scam Tags which is a very simple program change.

2) Several scammers have utilized the same profile information. Example "I am a teacher in a musical store". Commonly used profile phrases that are not common to the use of English here in the USA should be absolutely flagged as scammers. Very simple program change.

3) Stop the scammers from signing up. It would be very simple for the OurTime programmers to capture the IP address of the person signing up for the service and compare this to the physical location where they claim to reside. When the IP address of the scammer sending the email is interrogated more times than not they are not physically located in the US. Rather they are located in Russia, Nigeria, California or the Midwest - not where they claim to live.

4) Use of "promote me" tokens is a magnet for scammers. I've used tokens to promote me over 20 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME I've received replies for numerous scammers.

Bottom line: OurTime and other dating sites should be held liable for fraud committed against their clients as they do little or nothing to limit the fraud activity.

Last bit of advice: Most scammers will want to jump to email quickly.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Scam Alert

By Mary , McMechen, WV, Verified Reviewer

I lasted five days on this site, and just wrote their customer service that I want to quit. The people I was matched up with were gross, and I have never been so insulted in my life. I now understand why only homeless, toothless and nasty men sign up, because no OTHER site would have them! Save your time and money.

OurTime sucks totally

By Corrado V., Maple Valley, WA, Verified Reviewer

This site is a complete waste of time. They sucker you into entering a whole lot of personal data, and then you cannot contact anyone at all. That is never explained anywhere. It is all about getting your money. Avoid at all costs, they are just a scam.

Money grubbers

By Tom , Florida

If you want to lose more money than you plan on losing, I say join. All the online reviews should tell you to steer clear of them. Once they get your credit card info they are like leaches, you can't back out and they've got you. Now you will have to jump through more hoops than a circus dog to keep them from helping themselves to your cash. They are just another class action lawsuit waiting to happen. I cant wait to see them go down with their ship.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
