Stay far away

By Ray Ruggerio, Point Pleasant, NJ, Verified Reviewer

My girlfriend has had nothing but problems, and no customer service as so many others have reported. We got it working for a couple of days, and the classes were horrendous. It’s not working again, and I think that might actually be a good thing.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

As awesome as you hope it will be, and a time saver too!

By Tracy M., Chicago Suburbs, Verified Reviewer

This was the best investment I've made in a long time in regard to my health. Yes, it's a chunk of change (nearly $3,000 initial investment for the bike, tax, delivery, shoes, one-year subscription, etc.), BUT it's so worth it.

I've been on my bike nearly every day since it arrived. It's addicting, and it is so easy to get dressed and join a class from the comfort and privacy of your home. I am done with my awesome, sweat drenching 30-minute workout in less time than it takes to get ready and drive to the gym and back. I LOVE it. I urge you to invest in yourself, and I don't think you will regret the decision.

We did not buy the $59 Peloton mat but rather used a $15 thin entry carpet from Home Depot, which works just fine.

One last tip; YES, you need the shoes, and it is so worth the $125.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Broke in 8 days and horrible customer support

By Katie H., Los Angeles, CA, Verified Reviewer

I have had nothing but problems. Late delivery and metrics stopped reading after 8 days of having it. Customer service has told me they would email and or call on 4 different occasions and on every single one they fail to do so. ABSOLUTE BS.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

No way

By John C., Texas, Verified Reviewer

This bike sucked, it was wobbly, loud and rickety. You see the commercials? Do not trust it. Unsafe, expensive and unresponsive to phone calls. It is not what I expected, and that is on y'all. I only buy made in America. No, do not buy this.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Rip off, took bike and never gave refund!

By Zaneta Z., Tampa, FL, Verified Reviewer

After countless mistakes, I get the bike. They set it up and before leaving tell me about an extra $41 a month indefinitely for "membership" after paying nearly $3000 for a bike! Worst thing was the guy says it’s going to wobble due to your flooring. I don’t want it then?! I told them it would be on the carpet. Then they tell me it will be $250 to take it back! I called arguing with Peloton and they said ok, they would pick it up (it had not been touched). They came and picked it up and I still HAVEN'T GOTTEN A REFUND! That was two weeks ago. I’ve been on hold for 50 minutes and the chat goes from 55 in the queue to 64. The whole company sucks, and I will sue if need be. Now the call hung up as a message stated they are closed!

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great Bike - More Reasonably Priced Than Most People Think

By Tom, Verified Reviewer

I can't say enough good things about the bike. It's ready to ride whenever I want. I don't have to drive anywhere. I don't have to plan around a scheduled class. I don't even have to see anyone in person while I ride.

The convenience factor is probably the biggest selling point for most people (myself and my wife included). Most people complain about the cost. But, if you look closer at the cost, it's actually significantly cheaper than going to a high-end spin class or even a mid-range spin class, particularly considering my wife was spending a small fortune on spin classes (and complaining that she could never fit in the perfect time for a class).

The bike costs about $2,500 all in with delivery. The monthly is $40 for as many riders as you want (so the $40 covers me and my wife). If you take it out over 3 years, that comes to about $4,000 total. Divide that by 36 months (that doesn't even account for the free months you can get for referrals or prepaying), and it comes to about $110/month (or $55/month per person if 2 people are using the bike).

Soulcycle charges like $35 per class. The mid-range spin places charge at least $20/class. So, if your comparison is other spin options, the bike is actually very reasonably priced.

Best fitness investment we've made

By Jim J, Centennial, CO, Verified Reviewer

One year and 185 rides later for me, 250 for the wife, I can say this was the best health-related investment we could have made. The wife is a recreational runner, I'm a road biker, and we are both in our 50s, and struggle with making time for fitness. Trying to make Spin classes at the gym was difficult; was running late and would blow it off, or being gone for 2 hours to get in an hour workout wasn't an efficient use of time.

The Peloton solved these issues. I can hit a live ride, with no psychological difference from a shared pain and motivation standpoint from a gym spin class, but if I'm 10 minutes late, I can just do one of the thousands of on-demand rides, with no difference from gym spin class. No excuses are necessary. I can ride 30 minutes, 45, 60, 90; whatever I want and whenever I want. I can filter to ride to classes with music I like (60s, 70s, 80s, New Wave, whatever), and modality I like (HIIT, power zone, heart rate zones, whatever). The 20,000+ members of the Facebook group offer support and motivation.

I am fortunate to have a nice carbon road bike with quality components, and I believe this spin bike is the stationary equivalent to that. We had no issues with delivery, set up, and have had zero issues with the bike, with over 400 rides, figure 300 hours, equivalent to 6000 miles (and no flat tires).

Pricey? Yes. Worth it? I think so. For everyone? No, some people are happy with Le Car.

Not satisfied

By Timothy H., Belvidere, IL, Verified Reviewer

We received our bike today. We were recommended by a friend that told us when they took delivery of their bike they explained how to use the bike and set the bike up for them. Our delivery team DID NOTHING but drop the bike off and leave. We paid the same as our friend for the same service but because of where we live, Peloton told us that all we get because of where we live. REALLY, you had NO problem taking 3 grand for us. DO NOT buy this bike! They are a scam.

Great experience

By Brian, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

Love the bike. I was worried about motivation, but the classes are great, and the metrics and class rank really push you. The bike was really for my wife, but we are both using it daily.

We don't have good studios or gyms nearby, so it made sense for us. We used to have good spinning classes at our gym, but once we moved, began to miss that. You can set up as many names under one account as you want, it doesn't cost extra. The bike is silent, which allows us to work out once the kids go to bed. Overall, a great investment for the right person.

It is expensive, and you have to pay for a monthly subscription on top of it. They do run a referral program, so you can get two free months if someone refers you. Here is ours, if you decide to buy it: https://www.pelotoncycle.com/r/?rc=b81989cd1b014ebd9965e6b7dcdfa379

Misleading information and extra charges

By Terri O., Kentucky, Verified Reviewer

Considering I read and re-read information about the Peloton Bike and my invoice for the shipment said $0 for the first year for the digital membership when all of a sudden, I am charged $39 for the monthly membership. I just received the bike yesterday with a shipping charge of $250, which is one thing, but when I called to complain about the charges, I am now returning the bike which is another $250 out of pocket. I think this is insane as I am returning the bike within the 30-day window and to not offer something to the customer when they lied on the invoice, too, is just horrible customer service. I will never buy anything with the Peloton brand on it...ever. They are making money off lies.

Worst delivery ever

By Kim W., Tri-Cities, WA, Verified Reviewer

Not sure if the bike is great, I couldn’t get their delivery service to make an appointment and show up to deliver the bike. They gave me a delivery window of Monday-Friday and showed up the week before when I wasn’t home, then never bothered to try to schedule another delivery. I decided my Spinning bike works just fine.
