About Pizza Perfector
Invented by 3-time world champion pizza maker Theo Kalogeracos, the Pizza Perfector is an “As Seen on TV” kitchen appliance that is claimed to help you prepare your favorite meals in minutes, including pizza, quesadillas, nachos, and more. The manufacturer claims that its ease of use and ability to cook a wide variety of foods will make your whole family love it, while its quick heating time will help you avoid wasting time waiting for food delivery or waiting for your oven to heat up.
If you just watched an infomercial for the Pizza Perfector or saw a short commercial, the kitchen appliance definitely seems interesting. After all, anything that can help you cooking better and faster is sure to be a big hit. But let’s find how well the Pizza Perfector really works, and if it’s really a “perfect kitchen appliance” as the manufacturer claims.
How the Pizza Perfector Claims to Work
As the self-proclaimed newest and fastest way to cook your favorite foods, the Pizza Perfector is claimed to help you prepare delicious, perfectly cooked food, every single time. Whether is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or desserts, the Pizza Perfector is claimed to be portable, allowing you to take it wherever you go, and to give you complete cooking control in the process.
In order to accomplish this, the Pizza Perfector features upper and lower heating elements that heat very quickly and cook your food from the top and bottom, and its rotating tray provides even cooking. In addition, the Pizza Perfector’s built-in automatic timer switches off once your food is done, which gives you the ability to walk away without having to worry about overcooking your food. And once you’re done, the Pizza Perfector is claimed to make cleanup a breeze—simply place the cooking tray in your dishwasher.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About Pizza Perfector?
Although the Pizza Perfector appears to have been on the market for several months, there are a limited number of online customer reviews that can be used to gauge overall satisfaction levels. However, among those available, the Pizza Perfector appears to have a mixed reputation, with some of the most common compliments referencing that there is no pre-heating, fast cooking time, and the variety of foods that can be cooked with the kitchen appliance.
On the other hand, some of the most common complaints reference limited space interior space, which might cause some toppings to catch on the upper heating element and begin smoking, that it’s only large enough for a 9” or 10” pizza, that food tends to stick to the inside plate, and that it doesn’t cook thoroughly.
Can the Pizza Perfector Really Help Make Cooking Easier?
When it comes down to it, can you expect an “As Seen on TV” device such as the Pizza Perfector to easily cook a wide variety of foods? Maybe, but consider the following:
“As Seen on TV”
Most importantly, the Pizza Perfector is an “As Seen on TV” product, which have a tendency to result in lower customer satisfaction ratings than other types of products, often due to claims of not working as advertised and for being of lower quality, as well as difficulty processing refunds. While we didn’t encounter any of these complaints in the few online reviews we found for the Pizza Perfector, it’s something to keep in mind nonetheless.
Health is Relative
Finally, although the Pizza Perfector’s website claims that the kitchen appliance can allow you to cook healthier food, your food is considered “healthy” based only on the ingredients you use. As such, it will not always be a healthy option, especially considering that some of the most popular foods to cook using the Pizza Perfector are pizza, quesadillas, and nachos.
With this said, based on the Pizza Perfector’s reputation for food sticking to the cooking surface, you may want to apply some sort of cooking spray before using.
Although the Pizza Perfector has a limited number of online customer reviews, many users appear to have been pleased with the results. And even if you’re not, the kitchen appliance does come with a 30-day money back guarantee, although you’ll be out S&H charges.
We bought one of these at a trade show more than five years ago. We probably use it 45 times a year. It does a nice job, and having heat controls that can do just the top, or bottom, or both, you can adjust how much heat goes where depending on the type of pizza you are making. We do find it makes sense to brush a little olive oil on the platter to help with nonsticking.
For the type of pizzas we make, we find it best to bake just the crust for 7 minutes, and then for another 15 once we load 'er up.
Depending on your dough, you may wish to "dock" it, or it will puff up and some of your toppings may contact the burners,
If this thing breaks tomorrow, I won't complain, given its use, and I will immediately buy a new one. Listen, I would rather have a 1000 degree pizza oven made with bricks imported from Italy, but for our little townhouse in North West Houston, it is terrific.
By the way, we do make our own dough and do all our own slicing and shredding. It makes a better pizza, but not sure if that is relevant to this review, or I am just showing off!
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Poor design. Poor function.
We used fresh dough and it stuck to the cooking tray. I've made pizzas before and I've never experience a pizza dough which could not be dislodged from the base surface.
The little knobs that serve as support for the unit to keep it away from counter top are very flimsy and one fell off. There is no way to reattach it.
Overall this product is unsatisfactory.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
