About Play Again Now
Play Again Now is a daily oral liquid gel that’s claimed to contain high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) your body can use to ”drench connective tissue, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints” in lubrication at the cellular level, and to also help provide shock absorption.
As a result, Play Again now is claimed to replenish HA lost from working out, rigorous overuse, injury, or aging, and to provide clinically proven relief from body stiffness and soreness in 7-14 days.
According to the supplement’s label, Play Again Now contains only 2 ingredients: 6.96mg of sodium, and 75mg of hyaluronan, although it doesn’t contain caffeine, gluten, calories, or carbohydrates. And despite its claimed effectiveness, Play Again Now will work for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.
If you’ve ever overdone it at the gym, or even just playing some pickup basketball at your local park, you know how sore you can be afterward, and the impact this can have on your day. But you don’t want to stop being active, so can Play Again Now provide the pain relief you need? Consider the following:
What is Hyaluronan?
According to Wikipedia, hyaluronan is another name for hyaluronic acid, which is a substance naturally present in the human body. Among other things, hyaluronic acid acts as a joint lubricant and cushioning agent.
Is the Hyaluronan Contained in Play Again Now Clinically Proven?
According to the Play Again Now website, a January 2015 study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food found that “daily oral intake of a consumable liquid fermentate containing high-molecular-weight hyaluronan … was associated with relief of chronic pain” when physically active. Interestingly, this same research is currently being used to support the claims of another supplement named LubrisynHA (we’ll talk more about this in a moment).
However, while it’s promising that the study’s participants found relief from joint pain when orally ingesting hyaluronan, WebMD claims that hyaluronic acid has been shown to be effective only for osteoarthritis, and only in some circumstances—but only when injected directly into a region. In other words, there is insufficient clinical evidence showing that oral supplementation of hyaluronic acid can reliably provide pain relief benefits.
Other Hyaluronic Acid Supplements to Consider
With this said, there are perhaps hundreds of other hyaluronic supplements you can choose from, many of which may be available at your local pharmacy. Granted, most of these will come as pills and tablets (not in a liquid form as with Play Again Now), so they may take longer to provide benefits (if any).
Customers Feedback for Play Again Now
Play Again Now was a very new product at the time of our research (URL registered February 2015) and didn’t have any online reviews available.
We did learn that the company is based out of Milwaukee, WI, although they’re not listed with the Better Business Bureau, and no additional information is available about them online.
Play Again Now Pricing & Refund Policy
If purchased directly through the manufacturer, Play Again Now is only available through a 14-day trial for $10 plus $7.95 S&H.
Then, once your trial has expired, you’ll be billed $49.95 for the full price of the product, and will also be enrolled in the company’s autoship program. This means you’ll continue receiving a fresh supply of Play Again Now every 30 days, and your credit card will be billed $49.95 each time.
Important note: Based on our experience, products sold through free trials are intended to charge you full price (regardless of what you do in the mean time), and autoship programs are intended to keep charging your credit card while flying under the radar. As such, we typically recommend avoiding products sold through these methods.
With this said, Play Again now is also available through GNC, which might help you save money while avoiding autoship enrollment.
Outside of the trial, Play Again Now comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request a refund or cancel your autoship enrollment, you’ll need to contact customer service at 262-796-2013.
Should You Give Play Again Now a Try?
Chopping to the Point: Considering the fact that oral hyaluronic acid supplementation (or even a direct injection of HA) has not been shown to provide reliable relief from joint pain, it might be the case that Play Again Now’s high price is out of line with any benefits you can realistically expect to achieve from using it.
Because of this, we’d recommend speaking with your physician prior to placing your Play Again Now order.
