Pro JYM is a protein powder blend that’s claimed to help you build muscle, recover more quickly, and train harder. In addition, this self-proclaimed “powerful” blend of fast, moderate, and slow absorbing protein can help you boost strength, increase muscle size, and increase lean muscle mass.
But when it comes down to it, can Pro JYM (or any other protein supplement for that matter) really help you increase muscle mass? And will you experience benefits that are in line with the supplement’s high price?
How Does Pro JYM Claim to Work?
Pro JYM claims to be a high-quality protein powder that contains a precise blend of performance proteins to help you maximize growth, improve recovery, and decrease repair times.
Although Pro JYM can be used by itself, it can also be stacked along with Shred JYM in order to maximize your results.
Each scoop of Pro JYM is claimed to contain 24 grams of pure, high-quality protein, including:
- Whey protein isolate 7.5g
- Micellar casein 7g
- Egg albumen 2.5g
- Milk protein isolate 7g (5.5g casein, 1.5g whey)
When compared to other supplements that may contain only fast-digesting proteins, which might work, but for only short amounts of time, Pro JYM is claimed to contain 3 different types of protein: fast, moderate, and slow-digesting.
By doing so, Pro JYM is claimed to help elevate muscle protein synthesis for longer periods of time.
In addition, unlike many other protein powders, Pro JYM claims to not contain nitrogen spiking or protein spiking ingredients, including BCAAs, glutamine, beta-alanine, betaine (trimethylglycine), or creatine, which are often used to falsify a supplement’s protein content.
In other words, you’ll know that you’re only ingesting the ingredients listed on the label.
In order to use Pro JYM, you should add 1 scoop to water or the beverage of your choice. There are also several other ways you can take Pro GYM, including making a shake using a variety of ingredients.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About Pro JYM?
Overall, it appears that Pro JYM has a very positive online customer reputation. In fact, as of 10/19/14, the protein supplement has an average customer rating of 9.6 out of 10 on Bodybuilding.com.
SuppWithThat.com even goes so far as to write, “The company has simply followed the science to arrive at a formula that is more effective than 99% of the protein powders out there.”
With this in mind, while Pro JYM might be considered a top protein supplement, MrSupplement.com claims that, “new research has shown that protein timing, at least for the non elite level athletic populations is not really all that necessary as long as you’re getting enough. So including proteins with different absorption rates isn’t too important for a daytime protein.” We’ll delve into this more in a moment.
Some of the most common compliments related to Pro JYM include that it contains only whey isolate (10% more protein than concentrate), tastes good (especially so with the s’mores flavor, which includes small bits of marshmallow), ingredient transparency (e.g. you know exactly what you’re consuming), does not cause bloating or decrease appetite, and is a good texture/consistency.
However, some of the most common complaints referenced that Pro JYM is difficult to mix, that it’s not GMP certified, and high price (we’ll talk more about these last 2 points in the next section).
Is Pro JYM a Protein Powder That’s Worth Your Money?
When it comes to protein supplements, you obviously have a lot to choose from. But when compared to the competition, is Pro JYM worth the added expense? Probably, although you should keep the following in mind:
As we mentioned above, regular users and professional supplements review websites praise Pro JYM for a variety of reasons, the most common of which relate to its transparency.
In other words, Pro JYM’s label clearly lists each ingredient and its dosage, without any proprietary blends or nitrogen-boosting ingredients.
This is a big leap forward in the world of nutritional supplements, which are often veiled in a lot of marketing hype and secrecy.
However, does this necessarily mean that Pro JYM is more effective? Let’s take a look.
The Science Behind Pro JYM
Admittedly, Jim Stoppani puts a lot of stock in scientific evidence, as he holds a PhD, authored the popular Jim Stoppani’s Encylcopedia of Muscle and Strength, and cites numerous clinical studies on his website.
In fact, his website specifically states, “research confirms that people who add slow-digesting casein protein to a whey protein shake around their workouts enjoy greater muscle growth over time than people taking whey alone.”
From an efficacy perspective though, WebMD claims that protein powders can be beneficial if you’re growing, starting a workout program, increasing or amping up your workouts, or recovering from an injury.
However, it should also be noted that in another article, WebMD states that, “It's a misconception. Eating extra protein actually doesn't do much toward boosting your muscle mass and strength.”
What they’re referencing here is that, if you’re looking for any kind of muscle gain, you have to add protein to your diet correctly. In other words, protein shouldn’t make up more than 30% of your daily caloric intake (a more realistic number is about 15%), and it should be combined with increased caloric intake.
However, “Eating more protein and increasing total caloric intake while maintaining the same exercise level will build an equal amount of additional fat and muscle mass.”
High Price and GMP Certified Designation
Next, when compared to much of the competition, Pro JYM comes with a higher price. According to the supplement’s website, this is because it contains a higher-quality protein that costs more, which eventually gets passed on to the consumer.
Also, although at least one supplement review website noted that Pro JYM is not GMP certified, we’ve mentioned in the past that this designation is losing its impact within the supplements industry
This is because, although GMP certification does have some benefits, such as ensuring products are produced in a controlled, hygienic environment, the actual ingredients contained in a supplement are key.
In other words, in our experience reviewing hundreds of supplements here at HighYa, we’ve come across countless products that are manufactured in a GMP certified facility, but contain very low-quality ingredients.
So while it would certainly be positive for Pro JYM to be manufactured in a GMP-compliant facility, its ingredients have been shown to be among the highest quality in the world of protein supplements.
Be Careful If You Have Allergies
Finally, keep in mind that Pro JYM contains milk, eggs, and soy, and is produced in a facility that processed peanuts and wheat. This means that if you have allergies to any of these ingredients, you likely won’t be able to use the supplement.
If you’re looking for a high-quality protein supplement, it appears that the vast majority of consumers have been pleased with Pro JYM.
However, keep in mind that just adding protein to your diet won’t necessarily increase your muscle mass, and you should always discuss any new supplement you’re thinking about taking with your physician.
