Proactiv+

I'm 42 and suffer with mild acne so I ordered Proactiv Plus and after two weeks, my face broke out in huge open sores all over my face and neck. I knew there'd be a break out period but what I'm going through is not just a normal breakout. These are huge, open, raw sores. I was a military combat medic so I knew it wasn't anything other than the Proactiv and these sores still remain on my face three weeks after my last use of Proactiv and don't seem to be getting better very quickly.

I will never use this again nor will I recommend this crap to anyone and to make things worse, they continue to charge me long after I canceled and keep telling me it will take six weeks to get my money back. Bad customer service, worse product. Buyer beware.

I have been using the original Proactiv line for years and it helped manage my acne prone skin. While I would still have occasional breakouts, it managed my skin better than any other product has in the past. I thought Proactiv Plus would be even better. Unfortunately, it has made my skin worse. I have been using it for about two months and my skin is as bad as it has ever been. I would definitely not recommend spending the extra money. I am going back to the original.

I started using Proactiv plus two months ago everything started out fine up until three weeks ago. I did everything the bottle said to do. I am now continuing to breakout in huge cystic acne everywhere on my face.

Now I have to find a dermatologist to deal with this disaster. I will never again go anywhere near another Proactiv product. I guess it only works for certain skin types.

Product did not work and when you try to get your refund it's horrible customer service. They send out the 2nd shipment early so they can get you on the shipping costs for that one too. Takes 4-6 weeks to get your refund and credit the account balance of a 3 month supply even though you declined it when you initially ordered the product.

Found the product didn't work for me, so I sent the items back. Nothing for a month, so I checked in.

Apparently I sent back a 'free gift' and so I can't get my return! Their customer service is abominable (phone or email) as they repeat the same things over and over. Once they have your money it's theirs- be absolutely sure you cancel and get written proof of such!

I'm seriously considering flagging them as 'fraudulent charges' at this point, I'm so frustrated.

The original Proactiv worked miracles for me, yes it's expensive but it's worth it. Nothing works better than it for me. I always am told I have the best, most clear skin and I thank the original Proactiv for that. I was so excited to hear they were making a Proactiv plus and I thought it was going to be better. I was wrong. Not only did I pay $30.00 more dollars just for the small package of Proactiv plus, it didn't work for me. I broke out as if I wasn't using any skin care at all. I was extremely disappointed. If you're like me, use the original Proactiv. The original Proactive never ever did that to me, it always worked wonders and I was never disappointed with it and I have been using it for 10 years now. Minus the sad 4 weeks I used Proactiv plus.

I found this review page in hopes of finding tips on how to make a successful return of the unopened 90 day supply. I knew about the automatic ordering, just forgot to cancel. I've been really stressed and busy so I figured my breakouts were from that. Then I realized after reading other people had cystic acne after starting Proactiv Plus, that's when I connected the dots. I'm so pissed, I can't wait to call to cancel.

BEWARE! Proactive Plus made my skin much worse and bleached my sheets. And the company has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever and I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Do not give your business to this dishonest company.

Proactive Plus advertises a 60-day money back guarantee. When I called for a refund, the agent gave me another phone number to call. I tried it several times and nobody ever picked up or returned my messages. I called the main line again, and the agent gave me the phone number for their “Escalation Department.” I left a message there too and nobody ever called me back. They advertise the 60-day money back guarantee in commercials and on their website, but make it impossible to get a refund. I wish someone would file a lawsuit for their FALSE ADVERTISING.

I had been using original Proactiv for many years and was a very happy customer (the only system that has ever helped with my terrible acne and extremely oily skin), when I saw the ads for Proactiv Plus, I decided to give it a shot. I gave it a chance for three weeks before finally admitting defeat and calling it quits. I can't remember the last time my skin was this badly broken out – large pimples covering my entire face and oil that no amount of make up or blotting sheets could tame, not to mention pores you can see from space.

I am so deeply disappointed by this product and the money I wasted. The product has a lovely fragrance and is packaged nicely, end of positive traits. It didn't even make my skin feel clean.

I have never had acne issues, my main problem was discoloration and I saw the ad for this product. So my mom signed up for it and I got the product which is suppose to be a miracle treatment. On the contrary, after few days after using it, I noticed a cluster of acne on my face and other reactions. However, I still decided to continue using it with the hope that it will stop and do as it's meant to. I was disappointed that I still didn't see any good results. Instead, my face was getting worse with acne and breakouts so I had to go back to my former face treatment.

Long story short, this product has ruined my face by leaving painful acne marks which I have never had and it's getting worse because it's not clearing even after returning to my old cream. I wish I would have not started this cream. I would choose my old smooth face with discoloration than this sore face.

I used the original Proactiv skincare system for a few years with good success. After years of spot related problems into my late 40's I was happy. No side effects. Then the new Proactiv+ replaced the original system and I had no alternative but to try, as the old system was to be made obsolete according to my enquiries on their helpline. This is when my problems started.

I had no instant reaction to the new product. I did not like the texture of the new cleanser or the new moisturizer.

A few months later problems started that I did not initially connect to Proactiv+. Dermatitis started under my eyes. Lips started to feel dry. My eyes started to feel sore & dry. As the months went by I visited the doctors 3 or 4 times as the situation got worse. My lips cracked and peeled. On occasions bled. Dermatitis was treated with steroid cream but came back as soon as I stopped using it. Eventually a second stronger cream was prescribed. And my eyes became gritty, uncomfortable & bloodshot, for which I had to have drops and gels to alleviate. I took vitamins thinking I had some deficiency and kept a food/drink diary trying to eliminate the cause.

Eventually my doctor suggested stopping use of makeup and skincare products for a month even though all these products I'd been using for some time. The first thing I stopped was my Proactiv+ skin care. Almost instantly it was obvious Proactiv+ was the cause of my problems.

After a few weeks of not using Proactiv+ I no longer have dermatitis. My lips instantly felt better. Although there are lines inside my lips where damage is still showing, I no longer have any dryness. My eyes feel alleviated but not 'normal' so not sure if Proactiv+ is the cause of my eye problem yet, but it is obvious it was an irritant to them. So I will have to wait a little longer.

After e-mailing Proactiv, who needed constant prompting to reply, I am still awaiting a refund for all the 'new' Proactiv+ I have used. They offered a part refund to wrong card details and have ignored my correspondence since then. Customer service is very, very poor unless you are buying, then it us very, very good.
