About Probiotic Pearls

If you’ve been searching for a nutritional supplement that can help give your body a boost, Probiotic Pearls claims to help. This acidophilus-based probiotic claims to provide superior health benefits in one tiny capsule by delivering up to nine times the amount of active cultures than other probiotic products.

But when it comes down to it, do Probiotic Pearls really provide all these benefits, and are they worth your hard-earned money? Let’s find out what the facts have to say.

Probiotic Pearls Details

According to the Probiotic Pearls website, beneficial flora in your intestines can be depleted by numerous environmental factors, such as poor diet and exercise, frequent travel, stress, and the use of antibiotics. As a result, you may experience gas, diarrhea, constipation, bad breath, B-vitamin depletion, and more.

However, Probiotic Pearls use active acidophilus cultures to flush unwanted toxins from your body, including free radicals, which can help relieve occasional constipation, gas, and bloating, while also improving overall digestion, colon and immune system function, and skin health. On top of this, each tiny, round Probiotic Pearl features a “revolutionary encapsulating process” known as True Delivery Technology, which means that each patented triple layer softgel is protected from the acid in your stomach, thereby allowing more of the beneficial flora to pass into your digestive tract.

Probiotic Pearls are offered in 5 different formulas:

  • Acidophilus Pearls – The company’s most basic probiotic, which features 1 billion active cultures.
  • Pearls Elite – A high-potency probiotic that contains over 5 billion active cultures.
  • Pearls YB – Contains three types of lactobacillus, which work to balance yeast and to maintain vaginal and urinary tract health.
  • Pearls IC – Probiotic Pearl’s intensive care formula, which, in addition to acidophilus, also contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, and Bifidobacterium lactis.
  • Pearls Immune – Contains lactoferrin, which can help strengthen the natural defenses provided by your body’s immune system.

According to the product’s website, you should take one Probiotic Pearl daily, whenever is convenient for you. The company claims that since the cultures are in a state of suspended animation, they will reactive once consumed, and require no refrigeration. All Probiotic Pearls are manufactured without artificial coloring or flavoring, preservatives, or sugar.

Probiotic Pearls Pricing and Refund Policy

If purchased directly from the manufacturer, Probiotic Pearls are priced as follows:

  • Acidophilus Pearls: $16.50 for 30 capsules; $39.95 for 90 capsules
  • Pearls Elite: $29.95 for 30 capsules
  • Pearls YB: $19.95 for 30 capsules
  • Pearls IC: $19.95 for 30 capsules; $49.95 for 90 capsules

If purchased directly through the manufacturer, Probiotic Pearls come with a 60-day return policy, which only applies to unopened products. In order to initiate the refund process, you’ll need to contact customer service at 800-783-2286 and obtain an RMA number.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About Probiotic Pearls?

Probiotic Pearls is manufactured by Enzymatic Therapy, Inc. based out of Green Bay, WI, which is a division of Schwabe North America. Enzymatic Therapy, Inc. holds an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau, based on just 3 closed complaints over the past three years, all of which appear to reference problems with the product and/or service.

Outside of the BBB, Probiotic Pearls appear to have a primarily positive online reputation, though the most common complaint cites failure to work.

What’s the Bottom Line About Probiotic Pearls?

Like many other probiotics we’ve reviewed, Probiotic Pearls claim to provide relief from a variety of digestive issues. But is this really the case, and is it worth your hard-earned money?

First, Lactobacillus Acidophilus is one of the most common forms of probiotic. However, it should be noted that other than treating vaginal infections, the Mayo Clinic claims that there is insufficient evidence showing that it can help with digestive-related problems.

Despite this, based on our research, it appears that the vast majority of individuals who’ve taken Probiotic Pearls have experienced at least some benefits, the most common of which were relief from gas, bloating, and other digestive upset. However, one review we found claimed that fish gelatin (tilapia) is listed as an ingredient (which is listed on the product’s website), so keep this in mind if you’re a vegetarian or have seafood allergies.

On top of this, the Probiotic Pearls website is fairly in-depth, and contains a FAQ about each of their supplements, including label info. In addition, Probiotic Pearls come with a relatively low price when compared to much of the competition.

Bottom line: If you’re looking for an inexpensive supplement that can help relieve digestive-related problems such as gas, bloating, and diarrhea, Probiotic Pearls appears to be a solid choice.

I have been taking Pearls Complete for two years now.

After my gallbladder was removed, my everyday life became a living hell; gas, constipation, severe bloating and intense pain after eating every meal, and I would get so sick to my stomach with no warning day and night!

I tried so many probiotic formulations over the counter. For me, Pearls Complete was the one that finally got rid of all those symptoms!

They worked so well. I was afraid any day it would all come back and start happening again. The only times that fear came true was the two times I ran out! My symptoms will all reappear on the 2nd and 3rd day of running out!

I just take one a day before I eat my first meal. They are the first thing I grab and pack if I know I am going to be away from home more than a day.

    Can't live without it

These little pearls saved my life! I have been using these for years. Constipation, acid reflux, and bloating are gone. The basic pearl works best for me. I've tried the other strains but my body is happiest when taking the basic strain-acidophilus. The local Walmart closest to my house only sells the digestive strain, so I have to drive clear across town to get it. Who cares? It's worth it! Life without my blue box of Probiotic Pearls acidophilus would SUCK.

I was getting repeated diverticulitis almost monthly. This product stopped these infections and made it possible for me to go antibiotic-free. Also, if I have any other intestinal "bug" going around or food intolerance, I take two Pearls per day until I am back to normal. These really work when no other probiotic product helped me.
