What is QuadraPan Cooking Smart Pan?

By HighYa Research Team
Published on: Feb 1, 2017

With four specially designed cooking sections, a PFOA and PTFE free Cera-Tech nonstick coating, and a five-layer design, QuadraPan Cooking Smart Pan promises to help you bake, roast, poach, and even dry fry (no fat or oil needed), all in the same pan.

QuadraPan is also heatproof up to 800 degrees, while its cool to the touch interlocking handles make transitioning from stovetop to oven super easy. It can even double as a serving tray—and when you’re finished, the pan is dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Together, the manufacturer tells us this is why the Cooking Smart Pan was approved in 2017 by the Good Housekeeping Institute.

But once you have the unit in your home, will you approve of its performance? Can you realistically expect it to replace four of your current pans, save 4X the space, and reduce your energy consumption four-fold?

In this article, we’ll discuss some important factors we learned during our research. By the end, you should have a solid handle (pun intended) on where you stand.

How Does QuadraPan Cooking Smart Pan Work?

According to the manufacturer, QuadraPan features a 5-layer construction, including a dye cast aluminum core and stainless steel induction plate for all-over heat distribution.

This way, the cooking smart pan claims to cook evenly at low, medium, and high temperatures and is oven safe to 260°C/500°F. Note: Elsewhere, the company claims that it is heat proof up to 800°.

On the cooking surface, the pan is segmented into four zones:

  • Griddle Zone – Features raised edges to allow fat and grease to drain away from steaks and chicken.
  • Raised Pod Cooking Zone – The raised bumps promise to prevent fish skin from sticking.
  • Flat Grill Zone – Here is the ideal place to fry or roast vegetables and other side dishes.
  • Recessed Circles – Next to the Grill Zone, you’ll find a “specially designed cooking cell” that promises to deliver satisfying fried eggs.

The cooking pan's Cool Touch interchangeable handle clicks right on with a quick push button release, which allows you to go from the stovetop to the oven in an instant. Its click-on EZ Helper handles also allow you to use the unit as a serving tray.

Finally, the cooking pan is covered by a tempered glass lid with a steam release vent.

While each of these zones certainly sounds like it could come in handy, depending on what you’re cooking, the important thing to keep in mind is that QuadraPan is up against some stiff competition.

This is something you can see for yourself by typing “section pan” or “divided pan” into your favorite search engine. You’ll have dozens of results to browse through, including aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and ceramic.

We’ve even reviewed another ASOTV option named MasterPan.

Granted, not all of these are designed exactly like unit, but if your main focus is a sectioned nonstick pan, you have options galore.

How does the cooking smart pan compare from a price perspective?

How Much Does the QuadraPan Cost?

Available in Copper or Charcoal, the pan is priced at three payments of $24.95 or a single payment of $74.85, plus free shipping.

Comparatively, most of the cooking pan's competition can be purchased for between $30 and $60.

With your order, you’ll also receive a set of Cool Touch interchangeable stove/helper handles, quick and easy recipe book, and a stainless steel serving trivet.

During checkout, you can order a bonus 9” round fry pan by paying an additional $7.95 fee.

All purchases come with a 30-day refund policy and a lifetime guarantee, less S&H. To make good on either of these, you’ll need to contact customer service at 866-322-7714.

What is their Arbitration?

Let’s say you experienced physical or monetary damage from using QuadraPan. Instead of going to court or joining a class action lawsuit, you’d have to agree to resolve the case through third-party binding arbitration.

While arbitration agreements are very common for consumer products, it’s important to note that you’ll waive many of your inherent legal rights in this regard as soon as you place an order.

QuadraPan Reviews: Are Customers Pleased?

According to the smart pan's commercial, it comes with loads of 5-star reviews. Is this what we found elsewhere online?

On Amazon.co.uk (the only place we found any legitimate reviews), the unit had 45 customer reviews and an average rating of 4.5 stars at the time of our research. There, most seemed pleased with its nonstick ability and its versatility.

What few complaints there were referenced hefty weight, broken/malfunctioning handle, long heating time, and that it’s not large enough to cook family meals—despite being large enough to take up a lot of space on smaller stovetops.

A Few Final Thoughts on Quadra

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times: we’re not here to tell you how to spend your money. But when it comes to QuadraPan, we think there are a few parting considerations to keep in mind before handing over your credit card details:

Cooking With QuadraPan Cooking Smart Pan

As one Amazon.co.uk customer noted, one of our first concerns when investigating the pan's claims was that not all four sections would heat evenly, or at the same rate.

You’ll notice that cooking pan claims to provide “all over” heat distribution (which is something any piece of cookware can provide), but not necessarily that this heat is distributed evenly.

Similarly, while you might be able to cook four different foods at once, it’s important to keep in mind that they’ll likely cook at different rates (vegetables vs. steak, for example).

And since you can’t control heat for each section individually, this means you’d need to remove food from one section and put it elsewhere while the remaining food cooks. This might leave you with some cold side dishes by the time your meal is ready—at the very least, this means you might have to dirty additional dishes to maintain warmth.

The good news is that, true to the commercial’s claims, there doesn’t seem to be anything preventing QuadraPan from dry frying your meat.

Will It Save 4X the Space, Energy, & Cleanup Effort?

We’re not provided with additional details, but based on our experience reviewing other copper-infused nonstick cookware like Copper Chef and Red Copper Pan, QuadraPan’s Cera-Tech coating doesn’t seem to be meaningfully different than most other ASOTV ceramic-coated cookware.

So, this feature might provide easier clean up as food wipes away, but it doesn't seem especially unique.

More than one Amazon.co.uk customer noted that his pan is quite heavy and not exactly small. So, although it could feasibly replace four small traditional pans (as well as the energy needed to heat each one on individual burners), it seems like it still might take up a fair amount of space in your cabinets.

QuadraPan’s Good Housekeeping Institute Approval

In the UK, we confirmed that QuadraPan received the Good Housekeeping Institute’s approval endorsement. “Experts concluded that the product performed particularly well on a gas [burner] and when using in an oven. It was easy to clean and the removable handles were a plus.”

Bottom line: Thsis pan is clearly a legitimate product that comes with mostly high marks from customers and is approved by Good Housekeeping.

Will it work better than local options or other online competition? There’s no way to know without giving it a try, although the company seems to stand behind their product with a 30-day refund policy.

Just keep in mind that customers report it’s not exactly light, so return S&H charges might not be insubstantial if you’re dissatisfied.

    Not very practical

    • United Kingdom,

I was presented this as a gift and quickly set about trying it. The first thing I noticed was that it is very cumbersome, heavy, and takes up more room than other pans, meaning there is less space on the hob, meaning other rings were unusable.

It took ages to heat up, and the center gets a lot hotter than the edges leaving some food overcooked and some undercooked, with food at the very edges still raw in places.

Some foods do stick, and after a couple of uses, the color starts to stain.

The quick release handles are quite good but feel as though they would become loose after repeated on-offs.

Also if you are cooking with wet foods sauces etc., they tend to spit and bubble over to the other sections, nullifying the advantage of using one pan.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    My order of the QuadraPan

    • Fairview Park, Ohio,

    • Verified Reviewer

I ordered the QuadraPan on January 15, 2017. I have checked on my order several times on their website, and all I get is that they have no record of my order. There is no way to send an email to them, and if you call their phone number (1-866-322-7714), all you will get is that "all operators are busy."

I am thoroughly disgusted, and only wish I hadn't ordered it from them. I should have gone to Amazon.
