Do not buy

By Michael G., New Jersey, Verified Reviewer

The product simply does not hold up! And the replacement process is a burden on the customer, I purchased two and both did not last a year. Now I have to continue with this subscription and cannot use the product. Customer support did not help at all.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi Michael,

We are sorry to hear you have had some trouble with your Quip! Our team does their best to troubleshoot the issue to come up with the best solution, as we have found that most often, we can help with getting your Quip up and running again.

In the off chance that the troubleshooting does not help, we ask for a few quick photos so that we can send you the correct replacement needed to get your Quip working without needing to send your brush back first for the replacement. If you would prefer not to send any photos, we do have the option to send your Quip back using our prepaid return label, and we can assist with a replacement once your Quip is in transit back to us.

We take these issues very seriously and always want to make sure that we address the trouble you are having correctly so that you do not experience the same issue again in the future. Additionally, you can easily cancel your subscription in your profile on our website, but this will discontinue your warranty.

If you'd like to give your Quip another try, please email help@getquip.com, and our team would be happy to assist further!

The whole Quip system is a scam

By Yiting C., Texas, Verified Reviewer

I ordered one set for myself and have been using it for two weeks. I found out the brush is too hard and the head is too long to reach out back teeth. It doesn’t work for me. So I tried to reach out the customer service, but they never reply to any single email back to me. So I tried and left a 1-star review on their website...it turned out as 5-star and doesn’t allow me to change it. Wow! At the moment I realized the whole review is a lie. A few days later I saw some people complain about their BAD customer service, I felt the same way so wrote down my experience...and then a few hours later my comment and other people’s complaints all gone! A scam company!

Don’t waste your money on them.

Hi Yiting. Sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced, we will try and clear these up for you as best we can here!

Quip's bristles are the exact same "soft" Dupont nylon bristles as all large brands use, so we can assure you they are industry standard soft. Perhaps you were looking for ultra soft which we do not offer yet.

As with the bristles, Quip's head/neck is also the same industry standard as all manual and electric toothbrushes on the market. You can test this yourself by laying Quip's next to other brushes. So should be able to reach your back teeth just the same way. Perhaps its design made it look different?

Our help team is online seven days a week and can answer all emails within 24-48 hours. Perhaps their response got stuck in your spam filter? We would love you to check and reach out again if you cannot find it.

We are sorry that you accidentally did not change your star rating to one star and accidentally submitted it as a five star. You can see from the reviews page; it is certainly possible to adjust your rating when you are leaving the review. Unfortunately, because we use a partner integration to collect our reviews to ensure they are legitimate and independent, we are not able to edit reviews once submitted, nor can we delete them (unless they contain offensive language). We can allow you to review again, and we would be happy to help you do so on help@getquip.com

As you can see by the distribution of reviews of the above mentioned genuine customer review site, we have hundreds of thousands of customers most of which have loved their Quip experience. At the time of writing, there are around 4.92 out of 5 stars from over 3500 reviews, but of course, we know that Quip cannot be for everyone. We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience and encountered issues while trying to get help.

We look forward to helping resolve this on help@getquip.com!

Too weak, and bad return experience

By Linzy N., San Jose, CA, Verified Reviewer

I just got the toothbrush. It looks great and I love the concept. I am disappointed in the power of the unit. It is too gentle and too soft. I'm trying to return it, but I'm finding it to be difficult. The website makes returns almost impossible.

Sucks in every dimension

By David W., Warminster, PA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased this in June, and it died in July. It took support 36 hours to get back to me about the product. It turns out I had to re-seat the battery. It died again in August, re-seating the batter didn't work. Unfortunately, I purchased a full year subscription. So I don't know how much money I lost. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother. It's a piece of crap and support is marginal at best.

Hi David,

We’re so sorry to hear about your experience! We always aim to answer all emails as quickly as possible within 24 to 48 hours, but I do apologize for the delay. I can see that you had reached out to us on August 7th to let us know that you were experiencing issues with your Quip and we had provided troubleshooting steps to get your Quip up and running again. As we mentioned in our first email, and in our response to your second email about this sent on August 16th, we are happy to help out with a replacement. We are still happy to help you out with this, so if you change your mind, please email us at help@getquip.com and we would be glad to assist you further.

Attractive but useless

By Sherry E., Lewisville, TX, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the Quip Toothbrush, and while it looks great, it isn't actually any different than a manual toothbrush. Sure it has a timer telling you when to move to another area but the bristles don't move at all. It pulses but does not brush. You must manually do the brushing. Other than a great look, it is useless.

Awful design/tech - not ready for consumers

By Mark F., Austin, TX, Verified Reviewer

It looks nice.

Bad design and poor function. The brush doesn’t really seat properly into the handle (the lip sticks up), and the natural pressure of brushing works against the direction that the brush is seated. The power button is too shallow and doesn’t have a positive feel...takes too much pressure to activate.

My brushes (the original plus the two others I’ve been sent under warranty) have worked 75% of the time and not the rest.

The design and tech are lacking here. I’m done now. Time to get something else.

Awful customer experience

By James C., Stockholm, Sweden, Verified Reviewer

The product never arrived. I've waited 1.5 months for the Quip Toothbrush to arrive. Customer service has informed me that they can't track the item in countries outside the USA. Their suggestion was to contact my local post office or courier and ask if they have the package (no mention of which company it's shipped with or any tracking details, meaning that it is impossible to locate the package).

No apology or refund issued for this awful service, I am now claiming the purchase cost back on from my credit card issuer as I can't get a refund from Quip. AWFUL customer service, do not purchase.

Autoship scammers

By Michael C., Verified Reviewer

I have canceled my "autoship" with this company two times, and still get notifications that they're shipping my refill and see them billing my credit card anyway. I had to go back into their account online and do it again, after THEY reactivated my account and NOT me.

When I wrote to them, I got the standard canned reply "you canceled after it was already shipped." The nerve! I canceled it after they reactivated my account without my knowledge, and they're trying to play this little timing game with me to say they won't give me back my money.

NEVER again will I do business with this shady and disreputable company. I should have known when there is no way to call them and they refuse to list any kind of telephone contact for them. Everything is email and postal mail. Red flag! They do NOT want to talk to people, they just want your credit card information and to knife you down the road.

Do not buy!

By Mya A., Virginia Beach, VA, Verified Reviewer

I only gave one star because there was no option to give zero! I received this toothbrush as a gift, however, I received a defective brush. It did not power on even after numerous attempts at troubleshooting. I contacted customer service, and they did nothing because my grandma tossed the receipt and of course doesn’t use email to register the brush! My poor grandma tried to do something nice for me and I could not even use it!

Horrible customer service

By Caitlin L., New York, Verified Reviewer

I subscribed to Quip and have had a ton of issues. First, they only sent one toothbrush (I ordered two). Then they sent toothpaste that tasted like goat. Then one of the wall mounts didn't work. THEN one of the batteries died way before the three months. Every time I've emailed them they've just linked me to tutorials on their website and aren't taking ownership of that fact that they've made mistakes. Because I did the yearly subscription, they won't refund me. They don't have a customer service phone number. I feel like an idiot for thinking this would be nice (I heard about them on the Jenna Julien podcast).

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Don't get Quip, it's garbage and service is even worse!

By Luke K., Iowa, Verified Reviewer

After hearing countless commercials touting this amazing new toothbrush from Quip, I decided to give it a shot. $25 is sacred to me these days, but so are my teeth. I was excited to experience this revolutionary new oral care device.

After over one week, it finally arrived. Maybe I'm jaded, but I don't have to wait a week for anything these days.

I opened the package and read the 6-page instruction pamphlet (yes, 6 pages), because this wasn't supposed to be like any other toothbrush.

They were right. It wasn't. Every other $3-$8 vibrating toothbrush I've ever owned worked. Some worked so well that even years later, they still fire up and vibrate allowing me to clean other things well after its life for use in my mouth had expired. But, the Quip didn't vibrate. It didn't do anything save raise my blood pressure and make me feel like a fool.

I wrote to customer service expecting that for the $25 price tag on a toothbrush built more flimsy than a $4 Oral-B "electric" model they would immediately ship another, no questions asked.

They asked questions. Then, put me to work - demanding that I disassemble the unit to inspect the key components. They wanted pictures of the defective parts before processing a replacement. In one breath, they're calling me an engineer and enlisting my help in solving their production problem and in another they're calling me a liar in my claim and forcing me to prove the malfunction.

One month has passed and I still have not used my platinum-gilded mouth miracle. I have written two more times and still no response.

Do yourself a favor and take the $25 you think you'd like to spend on a Quip and buy either four Oral-B units...or two Oral-Bs and a ball peen hammer with which to repeatedly bash yourself in the skull. Either way, you'll quickly see the better value in those options versus throwing it away at a Quip.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
