About Rail Male Enhancement

The Rail Male Enhancement supplement contains a potent mix of natural extracts that promise to revive your manhood, boost your confidence and self-esteem, enhance your bedroom performance, and even improve your overall sexual health.

Despite these benefits, the manufacturer claims the supplement represents a safe, natural alternative to traditional medications that can come with unpleasant—and sometimes severe—side effects. Take one capsule per day, or two capsules one hour before sexual activity.

What evidence does the manufacturer provide to support these claims? You’re on a mission for answers; keep reading and we’ll help you find them.

The Basics of Erectile Dysfunction & Male Enhancement

It’s important to point out that Rail’s website doesn’t indicate the supplement addresses any specific condition. Instead, only generic statements are made, like you’ll “be the man she needs you to be,” that you can “increase performance,” and that it could “help put a smile back on her face.”

With this in mind, the term “male enhancement” is in the product’s name, and its website URL references erectile dysfunction. As such, let’s briefly discuss each of these topics.

What Does ‘Male Enhancement’ Mean?

In the supplements world, male enhancement typically references increasing the width and/or girth of the penis, using only natural ingredients classified by the FDA as food. Often times, it can also reference performance-enhancing capabilities, such as increased staying power; longer, stronger orgasms, and a general ability to better satisfy your partner.

Whether by supplements, pumps, creams, exercises, weights, or other devices, though, the reality is that measurably increasing the size of your penis is impossible.

Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgery at Harvard Medical School and a urologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, drives this home by telling WebMD: "Trust me, if I knew of a way to safely and effectively increase penis size, I'd be a billionaire. But I don't. Nobody does."

What Is the ‘Erectile Dysfunction’ Mentioned on the Rail Website?

Erectile dysfunction is just what it sounds like; an inability to achieve an erection, or maintain one long enough, in order to have sexual intercourse.

While we won’t bore you with the details, the reality is that achieving and maintaining an erection is a complex process that involves close corroboration among many parts of the body, including the brain, the endocrine system (hormones), and the respiratory and circulatory systems.

Thus, if any one of these systems isn’t functioning properly, it can cause a glitch and lead to a plumbing malfunction. While there can be hundreds of these causes, the Mayo Clinic tells us that some of the most common include heart disease, high cholesterol and blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, depression, sleep disorders, some medications, along with pelvic and spinal cord injuries.

This is the primary reason the first person you should speak with about ED is your doctor, who can properly diagnose the condition and provide relevant treatment options.

Whether we're talking about male enhancement or erectile dysfunction, let's find out what the clinical evidence has to say about Rail's ingredients.

Is There Clinical Support For Rail’s Male Enhancing Ingredients?

According to the supplements facts label listed on their website, Rail contains the following blends:

  • Rail Proprietary Chamber Flow Matrix 570mg: Epimedium Extract (40% Icariins by HPCL) (Aerial Parts), L-Arginine HCl, L-Citrulline Malate
  • Proprietary OMG Formula 330mg: Butea Superba Root Extract, Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract

According to their summaries of the available clinical evidence, sites like the Natural Medicines Database, WebMD, and Examine.com indicate that l-arginine is converted inside the body into a gas called nitric oxide, which is responsible for widening blood vessels. Thus, they indicate that taking 5g of the ingredient per day has been shown to help address organic erectile dysfunction.

Similarly, they also report that “1400 to 2700 mg of Panax ginseng, taken in two or three divided doses per day for up to 12 weeks,” may help improve sexual function in those with ED.

Outside of the above, these same authoritative sites didn’t reference anything related to erectile dysfunction, male enhancement, or the performance-related benefits promoted on the website for any remaining ingredients.

However, even among the ingredients reportedly shown to have promise for addressing one or more of these conditions (l-arginine and Panax ginseng, specifically), we can see that Rail doesn’t contain anywhere close to the same amounts reflected in clinical studies.

What About Potential Side Effects With the Rail Supplement?

For the most part, the Natural Medicines Database and WebMD indicate common side effects related to these ingredients—if any—aren’t generally worse than mild digestive upset. However, no specific circumstances were referenced.

On the other hand, they report that l-arginine can have a moderate interaction with high blood pressure medications, as well as those that increase blood flow to the heart.

For some of Rail’s ingredients, like Butea Superba, it’s reported that not enough is known to fully understand potential side effects and drug interactions.

They indicate that the most common side effect related to Panax ginseng is insomnia, although they emphasize that it's possibly unsafe “when taken by mouth, long-term (more than 6 months). Researchers think it may have some hormone-like effects that could be harmful with prolonged use.”

Again, outside of this timetable, they didn’t indicate any specific circumstances where these side effects might be more likely to occur.

How Much Does Rail Male Enhancement Cost?

The Rail Male Enhancement supplement is available in the following quantities:

  • 2 Bottles: $97 ($48.50 per bottle)
  • 5 Bottles: $197 ($39.40 per bottle)
  • 6 Bottles: $297 (yes, you read that right), or $49.50 per bottle
  • 12 Bottles: $497 ($41.42 per bottle)

Important note: Per the label listed on Rail’s website, each bottle only contains 20 capsules, which obviously represents 20 one-capsule doses and doesn’t account for any ‘on' days where you need to take an additional two before sexual activity.

But, even if you only take one capsule per day, regardless of sexual activity, this means you’ll need about a bottle and a half to make it through the month, as directed by the manufacturer. Doing the math, this means a six-bottle order will only last you four months.

With this in mind, all Rail supplement purchases come with a 90-day refund policy, less S&H charges. In order to request one, you’ll need to contact Edge Bioactives at 844-573-8040 or support@edgebioactives.com.

Do You Need to Take a Male Enhancement Supplement to Address Your Needs?

The short answer: Talk with your doctor.

The detailed answer: When writing Do You Need to Take Vitamins or Dietary Supplements, we learned that organizations like the National Institutes of Health, the US Preventive Services Task Force, and the American Academy of Family Physicians (among many others) state that otherwise healthy people with no nutritional deficiencies do not need to take multivitamin supplements.

And according to WebMD, other than perhaps vitamin D’s impact on impotence, there is little clinical evidence to suggest that vitamin deficiency can lead to ED in the first place. Or, even if it was, that vitamin supplementation could address the condition.

And as we reported before, there is no reported evidence that supplementation can measurably increase penis length or girth.

This means that if you’re concerned about your penis’s size, performance, or inability to achieve an erection, you should make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.

Our Bottom Line About the Rail Male Enhancement Supplement

The company behind Rail, Edge Bioactives, is a relatively new supplements manufacturer based out of Edgewater, NJ. While they weren’t listed with the Better Business Bureau, according to the About Us page on their main website, they “promote the perfect union of science and nature by extracting their most powerful benefits to help you purify and strengthen your body and soul.”

Other popular products in the company’s lineup include Spartagen XT and Peruvian Brew. The former had 50 HighYa reader reviews at the time of our research and an average rating of two stars, which means the company has been around long enough to receive a solid amount of customer feedback.

In addition, all of Edge’s supplements, including Rail, come with a 90-day refund policy, which should provide you with more than enough time to find out if it works for you. But remember; if you’re looking to address the root cause of whatever condition you’re experiencing, placing a call to your doctor first might deliver the most bang for your buck.
