About Runway Blowout
Manufactured by Tristar Products, Runway Blowout claims to be a hair styling breakthrough that “lets your hair look red carpet-ready every day” by providing volume, bounce, healthy shine, and salon results at home.
In order to accomplish this, Runway Blowout is claimed to feature a detachable ion-powered ceramic brush roller with nano-technology that quickly heats up to add volume, shape, and shine, and then quickly cools down to lock in moisture, stop frizz, and add body.
According to the product’s website, Runway Blowout works on all types of hair over 3 steps:
- Roll in the brush.
- Detach the handle.
- Clip in the rollers.
If you’re tired of burning your hands when putting rollers in your hair, or getting them tangled in the process, should you purchase Runway Blowout? Consider the following:
The Essence of Runway Blowout
There’s a lot of marketing hype behind Runway Blowout, but if you sweep this all away, you’re basically just left with some heated curling rollers that attach to a handle for easier insertion and removal.
With this said, there are several other manufacturers who offer very similar products, several of which might be available from local retailers.
What is the Nano Technology Used in Runway Blowout?
Next, keep in mind that the Runway Blowout website doesn’t provide any information as to what “nano-technology” the product uses, or why the ions it emits are beneficial.
However, Runway Blowout is manufactured by the same company (Tristar Products) who also makes the Perfecter Fusion Styler. This product also claims to use ions to fight frizz and to hydrate and heal your hair, although there is very little real-world evidence that ions can achieve this.
Another question we had when researching the product is how Runway Blowout’s rollers are heated. The product’s handle appears to be hollow, so we’re unsure exactly how this works, and no additional information is provided on the website.
What Are Other Consumers Saying About the Runway Blowout?
Runway Blowout is a newer product (Trademark filed 9/9/14 and URL registered 10/17/14), so there weren’t any online reviews available at the time of our research.
With this said, other Perfecter beauty products appear to have a middle-of-the-road online reputation among HighYa readers, with some of the most common complaints citing failure to work as advertised, poor quality construction, and difficulty obtaining refunds. While this may not necessarily be your experience with the Runway Blowout, it’s an important consideration to keep in mind before placing your order.
Runway Blowout Pricing & Refund Policy

- 3 small brushes
- 3 large brushes

Runway Blowout comes with a 60-day money back guarantee, less S&H charges. In order to initiate the refund process, you’ll need to contact customer service at 973-287-5166.
Bottom Line: Should You Buy Runway Blowout?
These days, beauty product gimmicks are a dime a dozen, although many of them often end up disappointing users. Because it’s such a new product though, it’s too early to tell whether or not this is the case with Runway Blowout.
However, an important thing to remember is that there’s more to achieving runway-quality hair than just tools. This includes (often expensive) cleansing, conditioning, and styling products, not to mention years of training and professional experience. Also, as we mentioned in our Why the Fusion Styler Comes Up Cold article, if the Runway Blowout really did provide salon-quality hair in a very short period of time:
- Every hairstylist on the planet would be using it,
- It would be heartily endorsed by other professionals, and
- It would be sold in many of the top salons.
But this just isn’t the case.
However, if you’re willing to wager S&H charges and a potentially frustrating refund experience, you might want to give the Runway Blowout a try. And if you do, be sure to leave a review below and tell the world about your experience!
