About Simoniz Eyeglass Polish

By HighYa Staff

Simoniz Eyeglass Polish claims to be a lens wax that cleans, polishes, and conditions your eyeglasses, while also instantly making them crystal clear and smudge resistant. The manufacturer also claims that Simoniz Eyeglass Polish isn’t just a fast and easy way to clean and polish eyeglasses, but it also works great for cell phones, watches, tablets, laptops, and more.

Owning glasses can be a frustrating experience, because they’re essential for you to see properly and go about your day normally, but they require constant cleaning or they’ll become all but useless. But does Simoniz Eyeglass Polish really performs as well as it claims, or is it just more “As Seen on TV” hype?

How Does Simoniz Eyeglass Polish Work?

According to the Simoniz Eyeglass Polish website, all glass surfaces contain micropits that trap dirt, but this lens wax can penetrate these pits and remove oil, grime, and fingerprints, while repelling future dirt and protecting against scratches. Similar to car wax, the special wax compound in Simoniz Eyeglass Polish creates an invisible protective barrier that keeps your glasses and electronic devices clean for weeks.

Each Simoniz Eyeglass Polish order includes:

  • 1oz supply of Simoniz Eyeglass Polish
  • Microfiber cleaning cloth
  • Carrying case

Simoniz Eyeglass Polish is claimed to be made of a special compound that is safe and effective for all lens types, and to last for hundreds of cleanings; just dab, rub, and wipe.

Simoniz Eyeglass Polish Pricing & Refund Policy

Simoniz Eyeglass Polish is only available through the manufacturer and in 2 purchasing options:

  • $14.95 plus $5.95 S&H. You’ll have the ability to double the offer for an additional $5.95 S&H (total of $26.85).
  • Double-sized bottles for $24.95 plus $11.90 S&H (total of $36.85).

Important note: There isn’t a refund policy listed on the Simoniz Eyeglass Polish website, so we attempted to contact customer service for some clarification by calling 800-467-6363 ext. 237. However, after ringing a couple times, a pre-recorded message told us we’d won a free cruise to the Bahamas. We attempted to dial in the extension noted above several times, but the call was immediately disconnected each time.

If you’d prefer to purchase Simoniz Eyeglass Polish through a third-party retailer, the lens wax is also available through Amazon.com.

What Do Other Consumers Have to Say About Simoniz Eyeglass Polish?

Overall, it appears that Simoniz Eyeglass Polish has a primarily positive online customer reputation, with the most common compliments referencing that is cleans very well, and that a little bit of liquid goes a long way.

On the other hand, some of the most common complaints referenced that Simoniz Eyeglass Polish smears and requires multiple passes with the microfiber cloth to fully remove residue, that it loses its effectiveness over time, that it doesn’t extend the time that glasses remain clean, that it comes with a very high price, and that it doesn’t seem to be any better than other available cleaning methods.

In addition, some other customers expressed their wish that it came as a spray, and that they experienced numerous upsells when contacting customer service to place their order (see more about this in the following section).

Can Simoniz Eyeglass Polish Really Give You Amazingly Clean, Perfectly Clear Glasses Each & Every Time?

After everything is said and done, does Simoniz Eyeglass Polish work as well as it claims, and is it worth the money? Perhaps, but keep the following in mind:

“As Seen on TV” Product

Most importantly, it’s important to keep in mind that Simoniz Eyeglass Polish is an “As Seen on TV” product, which typically have lower customer satisfaction levels than similar mainstream products, often due to complaints of not performing as well as advertised. However, because Simoniz Eyeglass Polish appears to have a fairly positive online reputation, this may not necessarily be the case.

High Price & Customer Service

In addition, “As Seen on TV” products tend to come with very high S&H charges, and Simoniz Eyeglass Polish appears to be no different.

To put this in perspective, if you order the less expensive of the 2 options, you’ll be paying a total of $11.90 in S&H charges, which is almost as much as the product itself. And while the Simoniz Eyeglass Polish doesn’t list a refund policy on their website, these S&H are almost never refundable, which means that you could actually spend more money than you’d receive back by the time you ship your Simoniz Eyeglass Polish to the manufacturer.

Next, “As Seen on TV” products tend to have a reputation for poor customer service, with numerous upsells during each call and difficulty processing refunds. However, as we mentioned above, we were unable to get through to customer service (despite repeated attempts), and therefore were unable to verify if this is the case with Simoniz Eyeglass Polish.

Overall Value

Finally, although most customers appear to have been at least partially pleased with the cleaning that Simoniz Eyeglass Polish provided, keep in mind that numerous other similar products can be found locally for as little as $5, which could help you avoid high S&H charges.

Bottom line: Although many customers appear to have been pleased with their Simoniz Eyeglass Polish, between its “As Seen on TV” status and high price, you may be able to find an option that works just as well at a local retailer for much less money.
