About Slimfy

By HighYa Research Team
Published on: Aug 28, 2014

Slimfy manufactures a line of weight loss products that promise to use a “breakthrough” formula of organic ingredients to help you lose weight faster and more effectively. And by “confusing your body’s natural responses,” we’re told their supplements can also help you avoid building a tolerance to the ingredients.

How’s it work? According to Slimfy, you’ll take each of their three Stage supplements for 30 days, which, along with exercise and a healthy diet, can help you achieve your weight loss goals faster and easier.

But hold on: The reality is that natural weight loss supplements are a dime a dozen nowadays, and if you’ve spent any time researching them you can become numb to all the hype and overblown claims. But when it comes to Slimfy, do these same points apply, or is it really an “elite weight loss program?”

Since writing our original review, Slimfy’s CEO reached out and provided us with additional insight and a better understanding into their supplement, their business model, and much more. Here’s what we learned:

What Happens During Each Slimfy Stage?

Overall, the Slimfy Progressive Weight Loss System works over three stages:

Stage 1: Detox & Body Cleanse

Here, you’ll kick things off by using the supplement’s detoxifying and fat-burning agents to cleanse your liver and urinary tract. We’re told these ingredients will also improve your mood and suppress your appetite while speeding up the weight loss process over the next two stages.

Stage 2: Enhanced Weight Loss

Next, Stage 2’s fat burning and fat blocking ingredients will continue suppressing your appetite for help keeping the weight off. Specifically, the company tells us this is “one of the most potent and effective natural weight loss products available on the market today.”

Stage 3: Weight Loss Maintenance

After losing weight, you’ll want to maintain your results with Stage 3’s ingredients, which will continue suppressing your appetite and progressively helping you reach your goals. According to the company, Stage 3’s results are “proven by international studies.”

Alright, we’ve talked about what the manufacturer promises to deliver with the Slimfy 3-stage weight loss supplement program. But, exactly which ingredients do they use? Based on the clinical evidence, can you realistically expect to experience any of these benefits?

What Ingredients Does Slimfy Contain? Are They Effective?

Note: Before diving in, it’s important to mention that all of Slimfy’s ingredients are part of proprietary blends. As such, no individual dosages were listed for their ingredients on the company’s website when writing our review.

With this in mind, here’s what we’re told is contained in each of Slimfy’s weight loss supplements:

  • Stage I: Uses green coffee bean extract, hydrangea, milk thistle, organic ginger, and saffron extract to provide general detoxification, increase metabolism, support digestive function, improve mood, and more.
  • Stage II: Uses green coffee bean extract, raspberry ketone extract, pure trans – resveratrol, organic maqui berry, CoQ10, and saffron extract to accelerate fat burn, suppress appetite, increase energy and libido, boost motivation, and more.
  • Stage III: Uses organic African mango extract, green tea extract, Caralluma Fimbriata, CoQ10, and lychee extract to increase metabolism, block fat, control cholesterol levels, and more.

According to their box insert, you’ll take 1 tablet of Slimfy twice daily with a full glass of water, approximately 20-30 minutes before your two largest meals of the day. But even if you follow their directions to the letter, will these ingredients help you lose weight?

Overall, according to WebMD’s summarization for each of the above ingredients, we’re told there is insufficient clinical evidence showing that they can reliably provide weight loss results in humans.

Now, this isn’t to say there isn’t evidence that these ingredients won’t provide any benefits. For example, WebMD indicates:

  • Milk thistle may help decrease total blood sugar and cholesterol, and (when used consistently for four weeks and combined with several other ingredients) may also help reduce heartburn.
  • Ginger may help reduce nausea and osteoarthritis-related pain.
  • Saffron has been shown to improve symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
  • CoQ10 may address age-related vision loss, congestive heart failure, diabetic nerve damage, high blood pressure, prevent heart attack and more.

Tom tells us that not all of Slimfy’s ingredients are intended for weight loss; for example, some are intended to improve mood, others are related to appetite suppression, and so forth. Relying again on WebMD’s summarization of the available clinical evidence, they don’t seem to support these benefits, either.

But, what about all the clinical references on Slimfy’s Research page?

The Difference Between Clinically Studied & Clinically Proven

We’re not going to bore you to tears in this section, but we feel it’s necessary to quickly make an important distinction here between clinically studied and clinically proven. Why? Because in addition to what’s found on Slimfy’s Research page, the company’s CEO also sent us a list of 20-something studies to support the claims for many of their ingredients, so it’s something that needs to be addressed.

In a nutshell, clinically studied means what it says; that something was studied in a clinical setting. However, this term doesn’t necessarily reference the outcome of the study (for example, whether or not a supplement was shown to be effective).

Clinically proven, on the other hand, indicates that there is a large body of evidence—hundreds, or perhaps even thousands, of studies reflecting similar outcomes—showing that something is effective, based on repeatable results.

Here’s the point:

To this extent, yes; many of the citations referenced on Slimfy’s Research page, as well as the studies sent to us by the company’s CEO (or even ones you’ll find through a quick online search), may indicate a positive correlation between some of its ingredients and weight loss/mood/appetite suppression.

However, when answering the question, “Is this ingredient likely to help me lose weight?” one, two, or even a handful of studies doesn’t necessarily provide enough data to draw a conclusion. Instead, this takes a whole body of evidence; which is precisely what WebMD looks at when indicating if a supplement ingredient is “effective,” “possibly effective,” “possibly ineffective,” and so forth.

From this perspective, WebMD indicates that many of these ingredients don’t have the necessary clinical support to label them as effective (or possibly effective) for weight loss.

How Much Does Slimfy’s 3-Stage Weight Loss Program Cost?

According to Tom, Slimfy’s supplements are currently priced as follows:

  • Single Bottle: $77.60 per bottle
  • Buy 2, Get 1 Free: $51.73 per bottle (total $155.20)
  • Buy 3, Get 3 Free: $38.80 per bottle (total $232.80)

Important note: These prices are based on special offers and promotions available through different marketing campaigns, which are subject to change and do not necessarily reflect what’s shown on Slimfy’s website. In addition, you can gain access to additional specials (such as free standard international shipping, or $25 off express international shipping) by signing up to receive Slimfy promotions by entering your email address.

During checkout, the Slimfy website will automatically check a box for shipping protection, which includes benefits like product replacement if lost, expedited same-day shipping, premium "Indestructo" shipping box, shipping insurance, environmentally friendly packaging, and more), which comes with a $2.99 additional charge. If you’re not interested in these benefits, be sure to unclick this box.

Slimfy is also available through Amazon.com.

If purchased directly through the company, all unopened bottles of Slimfy come with a 90-day refund policy, less S&H charges. According to Tom, most of their customers are located overseas, and they cover more than 50% of the high cost of shipping. As such, he notes that customers will still come out ahead from a S&H perspective when processing a refund.

In order to request one, Slimfy’s customer support can be reached at (855)-5-SLIMFY (+1 (305) 587-2230 for international customers) or support@slimfy.com.

What Are Customers Saying In Their Slimfy Reviews?

Since writing our original review, 9 HighYa readers have provided feedback about their experiences with Slimfy, giving the company an average rating of 1.4 stars. What are they saying?

Overall, while one customer claimed to have had a positive experience, the most common complaints seem to revolve around no results, high prices, being sent additional supplements without ordering them, and difficulty obtaining refunds.

However, on Amazon, Slimfy’s entire 3-Stage system had an average rating of 3.5 stars at the time of our research, based on 90 customer reviews. There, most compliments appeared to reference effective results (even for those who couldn’t lose weight using other methods) and improved mood. On the other hand, as is common with most nutritional supplements (not Slimfy, specifically), the most common complaint was the failure to achieve results.

Bottom Line: Will Slimfy’s 3-Stage Supplements Help You Lose Weight?

Slimfy’s CEO was gracious to take the time and explain all the details of his company’s supplements and business model, so we’d like to thank him for helping us—and HighYa’s readers!—get a much better idea of what their supplements are all about. In our experience, actions like these speak volumes about a company’s underlying ethics, so we have no doubt that Slimfy is a legitimate company with customer satisfaction at the top of their mind.

With this said, while you might have a great customer experience with Slimfy, does this mean that you’ll achieve any meaningful weight loss results from their supplements? While we didn’t test their products firsthand, based on the available body of clinical evidence for each of their ingredients, as summarized by WebMD, there doesn’t appear to be a strong link.

On top of this, most physicians and fitness professionals recommend that eating a sensible diet and exercising regularly are the only tried-and-true methods of losing weight and keeping it off. And from this perspective (again, based on the available clinical evidence), it’s unclear just how much Slimfy’s ingredients will boost your results.

Everyone’s body works differently though, so it could be the case that the ingredients found in Slimfy’s supplements will provide you with what you need to achieve success in your weight loss journey (whatever that means for you). If not, the company seems to stand by their product with a 90-day refund policy.

Did you try Slimfy’s supplements? Just one, or the entire 3-Stage system? Did you experience results? Do you feel it provided a solid value? Whatever happened, talk about your experience in your review below!

They are a fraud company. It says that you will get a free trial, just pay for shipping, and when you enter your card details, they deduct a balance amount from your account without your concern.

They are a fraud company, beware of such scams.

I have been trying to get a hold of this company to cancel my order. The number given is not in existence. I have tried to get information according to their address, and they say the company is not there. Then I tried the number on the pill bottle, and it is a concrete treatment company. So I also believe this is a fraud. I don't know how to go about canceling this account. I would not suggest that anyone go through this company.

My friend (who works as a fitness trainer) recommended Slimfy to me. For three months of taking the capsules, I shed 4 kg. After the break, I will start the next course. The reaction from my body was most encouraging. Previously, until the end of the working day, I was hardly able to make it to the end each day - I was always fatigued and suffered from headaches. Now I am cheerful, optimistic, and happy during the day!

As others have noted, it is near impossible to get this company to stop charging your credit card once you are, like I was, silly enough to respond to one of their "free" offers. I have written to them telling them to cease and desist but to no avail. Next, I intend to advise my credit card company that they have used my card number fraudulently and ask them to treat it as a theft. I will also be writing to the USA Government Scams and Frauds section and asking them to investigate the company. Their website is https://www.usa.gov/complaints. I would encourage others that have been stung by this crowd to also contact them.

I would not recommend them to an enemy, let alone a friend.

    Do not buy!

What most of the reviewers who got cheated here said is true. Do not enter or give them your credit card number. I had to block my credit card and apply for new ones because of unauthorized deductions made by them. They fraudulently use your credit card info and freely make deductions without authorization. I am challenging all the unauthorized deductions. Do NOT buy, you will regret it!

    Don't buy

Dishonest, nothing is free, and the three 30 days of pills cost $200. I was mortified that this money was deducted from my credit card. They say within 30 days, but it was only three days apart. This is dishonest. Do not give a company like this access to freely deduct from your credit card. I have never experienced this before. The pills have no percent daily values, which shows they are not well researched or analyzed. No clinical papers to substantiate the results. Do not throw money away.

    Just scammed

I have not even tried this product yet, but from the message I received from my credit card company at 2:30 am this early morning, Slimfy is a fraud company. I had to have my card blocked for overseas transactions altogether.

I paid for a free trial and shipping charge yesterday, from my smartphone. There was no saying that I would automatically be charged again without my authorization. I was charged AGAIN this morning. I do not care whether this product works or not. This kind of dishonest business practice simply takes away even the slightest expectation that this product might work after all.

Do not try this or any other product you buy online without thorough investigation. Also, do not order anything from your smartphone. Never trust any words like "there are only 3 days left." Do not trust a company that starts with lies. One thing I just learned again, which I have forgotten for some time, is that there are so many scammers hovering online like zombies without moral values.

Debit your account without your consent

DO NOT get anything from this company! Once they get your credit card details, you have no control over how much they debit and when, even when you tell them to cancel your details.

I signed up for a free trial; biggest mistake of my life. They immediately debited for Stage 1 and 2, which I did not agree to. I complained. Thought they would have deleted my account, but apparently you need to put it down specifically that you want your account deleted.

Now I've been charged for Stage 3. When I tried to contact them again, the response was that they sent me an email confirming that I wanted the product and I should have responded then. The only trouble is that I did not get an email.

The product does NOT work! It is just a money maker for predators.

Slimfy, from my experience, is a non-starter for the serious dieter.

I never lost more than 1 kg, probably that part of my brain that was missing when I bought yet another "let's have your money" product!

They answered one or two e-mails, except when I told them that their product does not work as advertised. No comment?

At the end of the day, it is back to calorie counting and exercise.
