About Thigh Lite
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, Thigh Light promises to help you target, tone, and strengthen your butt and thighs in just minutes a day. How’s it work?
When placed between your thighs or behind your knee, Thigh Lite senses how much pressure you’re applying and provides visual feedback. For example, it will glow green with light pressure, blue with increased pressure, and red with maximum pressure. This way, the company claims you’ll know when you’re effectively isolating and strengthening your muscles.
Although Thigh Lite might be the first exercise device designed to light up, does this necessarily mean it’ll help you work out “the right way”? Here, we’ll break down what we learned during our research to provide you with some helpful insight.
What Is a Yoga Ball? What Can They Help You Accomplish?
Whatever marketing spin the manufacturer might use, Thigh Lite basically boils down to a pressure sensitive lighted Yoga ball. But do these fitness tools really work and if so, what kinds of results might they help you achieve?
Yoga balls (also commonly called fitness balls, Swiss balls, exercise balls, and more) are simply air-filled balls made of heavy-duty plastic vinyl, so that they’re resistant to punctures. Despite their simple design, you can perform hundreds of different fitness moves with Yoga balls that can target just about every muscle group in your body.
Most of these exercises take advantage of the ball’s instability to boost your results, such as laying on the ball on your back and performing sit-ups. Another common move is to sit on the ball and perform simple exercises like leg lifts, either of which are great moves for beginners.
On the other hand, Thigh Lite’s main function seems to be letting you know when you’re applying enough pressure, which isn’t an all-too-common move when referencing exercise balls. Given this, we might imagine Thigh Lite’s lighted feature only coming in handy in a limited number of instances.
One other concern is that Thigh Lite’s pressure sensitivity doesn’t appear to be adjustable, so what one person considers a great deal of pressure, another might consider very little, therefore delivering an ineffective workout.
These concerns aside, what will you pay for Thigh Lite?
How Much Does Thigh Lite Cost?
One Thigh Lite exercise ball is priced at $19.99, plus free S&H. With your order, you’ll also receive a free Thigh Lite Exercise Guide, which promises to show you specialized workouts that target your butt and thighs.
Thigh Lite also comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H, which can be requested by calling BulbHead (a division of ASOTV giant Telebrands) customer service at 855-668-1655.
Now that we’ve discussed the product itself, who’s behind Thigh Lite?
Who Manufactures Thigh Lite? Are There Any Online Reviews?
Thigh Lite is manufactured by Telebrands, who (as we alluded to above) is the largest company in the ASOTV industry and has been serving customers for more than three decades. And while there weren’t any online customer reviews yet for Thigh Lite, the good news is that we’ve written about some of the company’s more popular recent hits, including TouCan, Lazer Bond, Smart Swab, and more.
In general, these products come with 2-star average ratings here on HighYa. Why? It seems most customers complain about products that didn’t work as advertised, or that didn’t meet their quality expectations. From a company perspective, many customers also complain about less-than-stellar support staff (numerous upsells during calls, difficulty processing refunds, etc.).
However, there’s no way to know if you’ll experience the same with Thigh Lite, so we’ll just have to wait until the reviews begin flowing in to gauge overall satisfaction levels.
Who Is Chelsey Korus?
Chelsey Korus is a professional fitness trainer, model, and Yoga instructor based out of Los Angeles, CA. According to the bio on her website, she has also attended “alignment-based yoga asana immersion, classical ballet, capoeira, and daily acrobatic training,” which she infuses into her classes.
Today, Chelsey is perhaps best known for her Acro Yoga skills, which involves “a mix of partner acrobatics, Thai massage, and yoga.” She also continues to appear on popular media outlets like Prevention Magazine, Fitness Magazine, Shape Magazine, Women’s Health, and more.
Where does this leave you with Thigh Lite?
What Kinds of Real-World Results Can You Expect From Thigh Lite?
Because Thigh Lite appears to be about the same size as a standard fitness ball, it seems reasonable to assume that—with the necessary amount of time, sweat, and patience—it could foreseeably help you achieve your fitness goals. And at about $20, it’s also meaningfully less expensive than many other Yoga balls you’ll come across.
However, when referencing Thigh Lite’s most notable feature, its pressure sensitive lights seem to target only a handful of different exercises, all of which (obviously) are intended to address only your butt and thighs. Outside of this, we might imagine Thigh Lite’s constantly changing light might be more of a nuisance if you’re looking to perform more traditional Yoga ball moves.
Another very important factor to consider is that, even if Thigh Lite really does provide you with strengthened and toned muscles in minutes a day, it probably won’t do much good if these muscles are buried under excess fat. To this extent, if you’re on a mission to make your muscles “pop,” then you’ll need to focus just as much (if not more) on nutrition than on the type of exercise device you’re using.
With all this said, we have to admit that Thigh Lite seems like a new, interesting concept that could help keep you motivated. And in the end, motivation will act as the foundation for whatever weight loss or fitness goals you’re looking to achieve.
On top of this, Thigh Lite comes with free S&H, so you won’t be out more than a few bucks for return shipping if you’re dissatisfied and decide to take advantage of the company’s 30-day refund policy.
