    Overall Experience:

I never should have wasted the money. The reports were inaccurate, misleading, and not complete. And than to ask for more money. What a joke! I am attempting to cancel my subscription within hours of trying the service. No rating, not even one star.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

TruthFinder is a HUGE RIP-OFF. They are THIEVES out to steal your money. The one report that I got was LAME because I didn't opt to allow them to steal an additional $19.95 from me to get the Premium Report, or whatever they call it. Many things they say on their website are lies, such as their claim that they offer 24/7 Member Care. I clicked on that and NOTHING happened. I've read many of the negative reviews here and trust me, they are all absolutely RIGHT. I rated this one star only because there wasn't an option for a lower rating.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • What a load of crap.

What a crock of crap. I was simply looking for an old friend and after about 20 mins of bogus prompts, I finally get this BS screen that my report is ready WHEN I enter my credit card information. Such nonsense because the response was not even within 10 years of the age provided.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • A waste of time and money.

    Overall Experience:

First off, they give a couple basic form of information like someone's age, name, and relatives. Secondly, the use a bunch of loading screens that obviously aren't doing anything. And thirdly, they make it a huge hassle to cancel your subscription. TRuthFinder.com is a VERY well thought out scam in my opinion. I can see how well it was designed to make you think you'll find dirt on someone in my case it was me. It said it includes my arrest records however I've never been arrested. My age wasn't even close. Don't DO IT, it's complete B.S.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

In May my boyfriend and I subscribed to Truthfinder just to see what we could find. When you pay it tells you you'll be able to see a large number of different things. What it doesn't tell you is that it asks you for an additional amount of money before you'll actually be able to see what it already said it would show you. Then after you pay the extra, it says NO RECORDS available. We looked up so many different people, even people with numerous records, and it still said NO RECORDS to show.

So we decided it was a joke and canceled it. We called and talked to someone named Xavier, and he gladly canceled for us. Cool beans right? Well two days AFTER we canceled the subscription, they took money from our account. So a little frustrated we call back and talk to some lady. She said it was a "computer glitch" and that she will send an email and have the money refunded. Whatever, cool. Weeks went by and we never received an email, and never received our money.

So we called today, and talked to Sherri. We explained the ordeal and she says you never canceled your account. Umm excuse me? We called and talked to Xavier and he canceled it for us. She said she could see that we talked to him but had no explanation as to why it wasn't canceled. Then she said that the lady we talked to about the charges put NO REFUND in the computer. After arguing with her for a few minutes she changed her story and said we NEVER talked to another lady about the money that was supposed to be refunded, and that we only talked to Xavier, but never canceled. We told her that Truthfinder is a joke and to cancel us immediately. She then said oh well it shows here you did cancel. Okay?! She changed her story so many times we were done with it. We hung up and will never use Truthfinder again.

The site did not give me any info I could not get on my own but teased me that there was more if I would pay more for it. A waste of 27 dollars.

I decided to look up my information and it was incorrect as well. So now I can not really trust what I read.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • Rip-off

They draw you in with a promise of you seeing what is available information about yourself (or others.) It takes a good bit of time to download the information at which point they charge almost $30. They then supply very basic (and sometimes incorrect,) information. To access further information that is initially promised it requires $20 more. Total rip-off scam.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Gave them an email - bad idea. Flooded with spam now but luckily I used side email just for this sort of thing. Thanks to these reviews I did not purchase further. I figured I could throw $30 bucks to save me a little time in searching but after reading the horror stories I am glad I didn't. I am so very thankful to you all. Identity is getting tougher to keep a hold on nowadays and it appears this site is more interested in gathering yours, like your bank account, than giving you others. I do like the 5 star reviews on this site. They could be a spokesperson for the site. Wait, what? They probably are? You're kidding me? Lol.

It does concern me though that some citizens are still looking for that one bit of approval to justify something they want to do. I implore you, please protect yourself first. If this information is so important maybe hire a Private Investigator. If it is just contact info there are way more reputable sites for that information. If you are trying to find out a person's criminal history you can do a background check for $35 that is flawless from the government. I hope they don't hurt too many people in their scheme. Stay safe all.

  • Rip Off

    Overall Experience:

The standard report contains no useful information. Once locked in, real information has a ridiculous price per report. Will call and ask for a refund. Don't use this site!

  • Tried on March 8th

    Overall Experience:

It took a long time to get information and then over half of it was incorrect. I also did not appreciate the fact that the stated prices were for name and jobs only. It would cost extra money to get "background check type items," and I am canceling TODAY.

I think this company misleads you into thinking you can get all the information for the one month price of under $ when it actually costs closer to $50.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I signed up and paid the fee. They say that they paid for the information they publish. They should get their money back so that they can refund their customers. They say they cannot guarantee results. Well, duh!

They did not even come close to anything accurate. They got about 50% accurate information, information anyone can get. They got 0% accurate on things that are not readily available for the average person. I recommend you stay away from these frauds.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
