I see the majority of reviews are about the same experience I have with this company. I canceled in mid-January and was told I had already paid for the month, and I would have to pay another month (possibly two, I just moved from California and can't find my notes). I didn't notice my bank account and that BasicTalk continued to withdraw the money.
In October my credit card changed, and they started sending me emails that I was past due! I called today, November 3, 2017, and was told their notes said I was told I had already paid for January and to call back in February! They even said they sent me an email (couldn't find it). I see canceling your account is a very dishonest process with this company and I hope people will read this and not be swayed by their low prices.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
