About Vyalis Rx
Vyalis Rx claims to be a medical strength male enhancement supplement with promises of providing you “maximum sexual benefits.” Specifically, the website for the product states that it can help give you bigger, long-lasting erections, a surge in sex drive and energy, and increased sexual confidence.
The company behind the supplement states that it is made with a blend of clinical strength ingredients, claiming that they provide an intense, restorative boost, pushing your sex drive back to what it was in your youth.
Vyalis Rx uses a dual-action formula, which the company says provides an instant surge in sexual power and performance while also treating the root causes of erectile dysfunction, allowing you to please your partner more regularly without any harmful side effects.
Before jumping in and unpacking the ingredients found within Vyalis Rx’s formula, let’s briefly explore what erectile dysfunction is, what causes, and what can be done about it from an established medical standpoint.
Understanding Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common male sex disorders, with some studies pointing to the fact that it affects up to 52 percent of all men at least once in their lives. Put in simple terms, erectile dysfunction (or ED for short) is the inability to get or sustain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse.
This is a complex disorder, as there are many factors that tie into male arousal, including your brain health, blood vessels, hormones and nerves. This delicate system has many failure points, and often, a combination of these failures can lead to the experience of ED, which seems to increase in risk with age.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the following physical factors may contribute to the risk of developing ED:
- “Heart disease
- Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
- High cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Metabolic syndrome — a condition involving increased blood pressure, high insulin levels, body fat around the waist and high cholesterol
- Parkinson's disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Certain prescription medications
- Tobacco use
- Peyronie's disease — development of scar tissue inside the penis
- Alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse
- Sleep disorders
- Treatments for prostate cancer or enlarged prostate
- Surgeries or injuries that affect the pelvic area or spinal cord”
These physical issues are commonly associated with the disorder, but they aren’t the only contributors. Mental problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship issues can also play a big role in the development and continuation of the disorder.
Vyalis Rx claims to stimulate nitric oxide and “free” testosterone production in the body to achieve the results described on its website, but what are some of the most common treatments for ED currently?
Conventional treatments center around prescription medications such as Viagra and Cialis, as well as physical aids like penis pumps, rings, and other devices that help you sustain an erection. In cases where none of the above is effective, some doctors may recommend surgeries or other medical procedures, but what about over-the-counter supplements like Vyalis Rx?
According to the US Food and Drug Association, they are very much aware of the wide number of supplemental products on the market that claim to provide fixes for ED. Their advice? Be wary. In the press release, they mention the fact that these products (and other dietary supplements) are not regulated by the FDA for their claims of effectiveness.
Beyond this, the post also states that the organization has encountered ingredients not listed on the bottle in many of these products in the past: “Products falsely marketed as “dietary supplements” or “foods” that promise to enhance your sexual performance or increase sexual stimulation might contain hidden drug ingredients or other undisclosed ingredients — and can endanger your health.”
All told, they say that they have found over 300 different male enhancement products similar to Vyalis Rx that contain undisclosed drug ingredients, including some of the common substances found within prescription strength alternatives such as the above-mentioned Viagra and Cialis.
The FDA concludes by issuing a warning to consumers to watch out for any supplements that:
- “Promise quick results (within 30 to 40 minutes)
- Are advertised as alternatives to FDA-approved prescription drugs
- Are sold in single servings
- Advertise via spam or unsolicited emails
- Have labels written primarily in a foreign language
- Have directions and warnings that mimic FDA-approved products”
Because Vyalis Rx is marketed as an over-the-counter alternative to these prescription products, we’ll need to take a closer look at the actual ingredients used within its formula in order to determine how effective you can expect it to be in practice.
Vyalis Rx Ingredients
On the product’s website, we’re shown that it includes the following seven ingredients:
- Horny goat weed extract
- Tongkat ali extract
- Saw palmetto extract
- Nettle extract
- Orchic substance
What we aren’t shown is how much of each of these ingredients are included in the formula. We attempted to contact customer service to clarify this, but after speaking with multiple agents, they were unable to provide this information.
Based on our experience reporting on dozens of similar products over the years, we’ve found that without proper dosage information, it can be extremely difficult to evaluate how effect a supplement may be at treating the root causes of ED, as the makers of Vyalis Rx suggest.
Given what information we do have, do these ingredients have any clinical link to treating erectile dysfunction, or stimulating nitric oxide and free testosterone production in the body?
According to authoritative sources such as WebMD, Examine.com, and the Mayo Clinic, none of the substances above show sufficient evidence for any of the primary claims made by the makers of Vyalis Rx. WebMD does report that tongkat ali can potentially increase both the quality and concentration of sperm cells in infertile men, but other than that, no clinical evidence was relayed about these ingredients and their ability to deliver enhanced sexual functionality.
Potential Vyalis Rx Side Effects
Thankfully, Drugs.com, WebMD, and Examine did no list any serious side effects associated with any of the above ingredients. They did, however, mention several minor adverse effects being possible with horny goat weed and saw palmetto, including abdominal pain, headache, nausea, constipation, forceful heartbeat, and allergic skin reactions. Unfortunately, without proper dosage information, it’s all but impossible to determine how likely you are to experience any of these symptoms when taking Vyalis Rx.
In general, our advice is always to speak with your doctor before trying any new supplement for the first time. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about potential side effects, as they are here to make this process easier for you.
Vyalis Rx Pricing & Returns
As of this writing, Vyalis Rx was available exclusively through the manufacturer online. It is sold as a mandatory free trial offering, which means that you’ll only be asked to be $5.95 for shipping up front during the checkout process. According to the terms on the website, however, this initiates your 14-day trial period. Once this window is up, you’ll be automatically charged the full retail price of $89.99 and enrolled in the company’s autoship program.
You’ll continue to be charged this amount for a new supply of Vyalis Rx until you call customer service at 866-913-8586 to cancel. As for the return policy, the terms state that each order comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, less shipping & handling fees. However, it’s important to note that this applies to unopened products only. No refunds will be given for partially used bottles.
The Bottom Line: Purchasing a Male Enhancement Supplement Similar to Vyalis Rx
Vyalis Rx aims to provide medical strength male enhancement, but based on what we’ve learned above, can you expect this to be true? As we mentioned above, here at Highya we’ve reported on many supplements that make familiar claims to the product at hand, including a few that used strikingly similar website designs as well.
Echoing the FDA’s concerns over these types of supplements, the Mayo Clinic warns its readers that male enhancement products can cause potentially dangerous complications with certain other medications, which is something important to consider before making a purchasing decision.
Relating to Vyalis Rx specifically, we learned above that only one ingredient in the product’s formula, tongkat ali, has any potential to improve sexual health, and even then, WebMD only listed that it may help to improve sperm count and quality in infertile men. None of the other ingredients were reported by the sources listed in the ingredients section to be able to measurably improve any other aspects of your sexual function.
When coupled with the recurring subscription program and the restrictive return policy, as consumers ourselves, we feel that the best first step might be to talk with your doctor about the problems you are experiencing. We’ve found that by doing so, you can align yourself with a proven solution that truly works for you over the long term.

What a rip-off
As with the other reviewers, this was a horrible experience. For all I know, the capsules could have been filled with horse crap. The 14-day trial is a hoax. I read the website, and there was NOTHING that said that if you didn't cancel within 14 days, then they would auto ship and auto bill your account. I finally found a phone number (not on the shipping documents) from my bank account and called. The customer service person tried to be pleasant, but insisted that I had agreed to the auto ship. After much haggling, she promised a refund of 50%, but whether that ever shows up, we are yet to see. Why can't people be honest in their transactions? Why do they feel they have to scam you like this? Because it is, exactly that, a SCAM!
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friendView all 1 commentsHide comments

You are right. I can't find the phone number in contact them! A real rip-off! I guess I'll have to cancel my card!

The product doesn't work, and the phone number doesn't work either. They give you the runaround. I had to change bank account so they could not get more money out of my account. All they do is give different phone numbers to call with no results.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This product is a ripoff. You do the trial and they say to cancel or you will be charged 89.95 a month. And the phone numbers they give you to cancel don't work. So don't order this product by any means.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
