About Z Band
Do you wake up exhausted every morning? Is everyone in the house complaining about your snoring?
If so, Z Band is an anti-snore chinstrap that comfortably and gently pulls your jaw forward and prevents snoring. All you have to do is place Z Band’s specially designed elastic strap over your head and under your chin.
Z Band’s “simple sleep science” will even help you get more restful sleep from the very first night! You’ll also experience increased intimacy and better family harmony, and it can even help you develop a healthy lifestyle.
You know all too well that snoring can cause health—not to mention relationship—problems. But is Z Band an effective solution?
To help you learn more, let’s begin with what causes snoring in the first place.
What’s Causing Your Snoring?
There are actually two different questions here:
- What physically causes snoring?
- What lifestyle choices and medical conditions cause this physical reaction?
At its most basic, snoring is caused when the tissue at the back of your throat relaxes as you sleep, and then vibrates as air passes over it. In severe cases, this airway blockage can cause some people to stop breathing for a minute or more, which is a separate condition known as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
What causes this tissue relaxation can vary, although common causes are genetics (some people are more predisposed to snoring than others, such as those with narrower airways), medication or alcohol use (basically, any substance than relaxes your central nervous system), colds and other illnesses, being overweight, and more.
From a physical perspective, is there anything about Z Band’s design that could help prevent your snoring?
Will Z Band Help Reduce Your Snoring?
Anti-snoring chinstraps like Z Band have been around for decades, and all of them basically work the same. One part of the device will fit snugly around your chin, while the other portion will use one or two straps at the back of your head to keep it securely in place.
Once in place, chinstraps like Z Band gently pull your jaw forward, which reduces the chances that any loose tissue will block your airway, or that your tongue will fall backwards and do the same.
Only your doctor can recommend the best anti-snoring treatment based on your specific diagnosis, but in general, if you snore through your mouth (versus your nose), chinstraps like Z Band might be one of your most effective options. They might even help reduce your sleep apnea!
If you primarily snore through your nose though, chinstraps like Z Band will likely provide little help. Also, if you tend to move around a lot when you sleep, some anti-snoring chinstraps might have a tendency to move out of position, which can cause discomfort and provide little in the way of snoring relief.

Speaking of which, is there anything available that’s similar to Z Band?
Other Anti-Snoring Chinstraps
We’ve alluded to it a couple times already, but there are dozens of anti-snoring chinstraps available from different manufacturers, many of which are priced about the same (or even less) than Z Band.
Even if you only stayed within ASOTV anti-snoring products, you have several chinstrap options, including BeQuiet, My Snoring Solution, and RestRX. In fact, RestRX appears to feature an identical design as Z Band and uses many of the same pictures on their website, although it’s manufactured by a company named Plymouth Direct.
Anti-snoring chinstraps are so common that you might not even need to purchase one online. Instead, you’ll almost certainly want to check local pharmacies and big box retailers first, which could save you time and money if you’re not happy and decide to process a return.
Let’s keep talking about money and discuss what you’ll pay for Z Band.
Z Band’s Price & Refund Policy
One Z Band anti-snoring chinstrap is priced at $19.99 and includes free shipping (this is a pretty big deal for an As Seen on TV product!).
Z Band also comes with a 30-day refund policy, less S&H. In order to request one, you’ll need to contact Telebrands customer service at 855-668-1655.
Does Telebrands have a reputation for making good products?
Telebrands’s Online Customer Reputation
Telebrands has been in business for more than 30 years and is the biggest ASOTV company in existence. As such, they manufacture dozens of popular products, including Pocket Hose Ultra, Grassology, Hurricane 360 Spin Mop, and more.
Hundreds of HighYa readers have provided their feedback about these products, giving them an average rating of 1.5 stars. Why? Common complaints center around failure to work as advertised, poor quality, and unhelpful customer service.
Telebrands also had a C- rating with the Better Business Bureau (up from a D rating a couple months before), based on 1,152 closed complaints (as of 10/15/15). Most referenced these same concerns.
Finally, Telebrands recently settled a lawsuit filed by the NJ Attorney General’s Office for $500K, which alleged that the company repeatedly violated the Consumer Fraud Act. Telebrands admitted no wrongdoing.
Is this what you can expect with Z Band? There’s no way to know for sure, but we’d recommend keeping it in mind.
In all, what’s our recommendation for Z Band?
Is Z Band Your Effective Treatment for Snoring?
The bottom line is that, if you snore through your mouth, Z Band has a very real possibility of providing some level of relief.
Here’s the catch though: There doesn’t seem to be anything meaningfully different about Z Band that you won’t also find in local options, which can also help you save money in lost S&H charges if you’re dissatisfied.
And if you’re looking for the ultimate money-saving option, you can even make a DIY anti-snoring chinstrap for only a few dollars in materials!
But before you spend you hard-earned money on any kind of anti-snoring product, talk with your doctor. Then, you might want to first address some of your lifestyle choices that could cause snoring, including quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption, changing your sleeping position, losing weight, getting enough exercise, and more.
These might relieve your snoring without having to spend a penny, and can make you healthier in the process!
One reality check before we go: If you do decide to go with a chinstrap like Z Band, your reduced snoring certainly could lead to “increased intimacy.” But if you think you’re going to look cool or sexy in your new garment, you’re bound to be disappointed.
