What Is Z Max Male?

Z Max Male is a dietary supplement that claims to offer a medical strength male enhancement formula that provides “maximum sexual benefits.” Specifically, the product claims to support bigger, long-lasting erections, a surge in sex drive and energy, and increased sexual confidence in general.

The website elaborates on Z Max Male’s formula, saying that it uses all-natural ingredients in order to restore your sexual performance to where it was in your youth, providing you an intense, blissful and powerful sex life.

They state that the dual-action formula not only provides this instant surge in power and performance, but also treats the root causes sexual dysfunction, ensuring that you’re able to consistently please your partner without any harmful side effects.

If you’re dealing with any of these issues, this may sound like an extremely exciting proposition. Before jumping to conclusions, however, let’s explore how Z Max Male claims to work inside the body to deliver these attractive-sounding benefits.

How Z Max Male Claims to Work

The product’s website states that Z Max Male’s formula works in two ways to deliver the results described above; it boosts free testosterone levels in the body, while also stimulating nitric oxide production in the process. They claim that this combination will send a surge of blood flow to the penis, allowing you to achieve on-command erections with ease.

The supplement is positioned as an alternative to prescription erectile dysfunction medications, making the claim that it works to naturally alleviate sexual health issues. This may make sense of the surface, but before diving in and exploring the ingredients within the formula that are supposed to provide these results, let’s quickly unpack what erectile dysfunction is, and what causes these problems in the first place.

Erectile Dysfunction: What You Need to Know

Erectile Dysfunction, or ED as it is commonly referred to, is a complex condition. According to the Mayo Clinic, it can be broadly defined as the inability to achieve and sustain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse with a partner.

The reason for its complexity is that there are many different factors at play with regard to male arousal, which is a phenomenon that involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. Sometimes, a combination of issues stemming from these areas can lead to sexual dysfunction.

On the Mayo Clinic page linked above, several specific causes of ED are mentioned, including but not limited the following:

  • Heart disease
  • Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Certain prescription medications
  • Tobacco use
  • Alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse
  • Sleep disorders
  • Surgeries that affect the pelvic area

Though physical causes are common, they also mention that mental issues are often another layered factor when dealing with erectile dysfunction. Stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems are all listed as risk factors in developing ED.

On their website, the creators of Z Max Male claim that age also plays a role in the development of the condition. WebMD seems to confirm this, stating that 40 percent of males report first experiencing ED-like symptoms between the ages of 60-69. Only 2 percent of men report experiencing them before 40, so it is clear that age does play a real role in the risks.

So, if you feel that you are suffering from many of these symptoms, you may be wondering what can be done about it (and if so, you aren’t alone). Conventional options for treatment include prescription medications such as Viagra and Cialis, as well as penis pumps, rings, and other similar devices.

In cases where these aren’t effective, surgeries and implants can be used, but what about over-the-counter dietary supplements like Z Max Male?

The US Food & Drug Association (otherwise known as the FDA) seems to be aware of these products, and in a public service announcement on their main website, the governmental organization sends a stern warning to those interested in giving these products a try:

“Products falsely marketed as “dietary supplements” or “foods” that promise to enhance your sexual performance or increase sexual stimulation might contain hidden drug ingredients or other undisclosed ingredients — and can endanger your health.”

The article elaborates by saying that over 300 male enhancement supplements have been found by the agency to include drug ingredients that aren’t listed on the label, including several normally reserved for prescription-strength medications. They end with a warning to be wary of products do that any of the following:

  • “Promise quick results (within 30 to 40 minutes)
  • Are advertised as alternatives to FDA-approved prescription drugs
  • Are sold in single servings
  • Advertise via spam or unsolicited emails
  • Have labels written primarily in a foreign language
  • Have directions and warnings that mimic FDA-approved products”

Z Max Male positions itself as an alternative to established prescription options like Viagra and Cialis, and as such, we’ll need to take a closer look at the ingredients used in its formulation in order to evaluate whether or not they will be able to deliver on the manufacturer’s core promises.

Z Max Male Formula Ingredients

Z Max Male’s main website illustrates that the product includes the following seven ingredients in its formula:

  • L-Arginine
  • Muira Pauma Extract
  • Asian Red Ginger Extract
  • Saw Palmetto Berry
  • Ginkgo Biloba Extract
  • Horny Goat Weed Extract
  • Bioperine

We aren’t shown how much of each of these ingredients are included in the formula, so we reached out to customer service to clarify. Though we spoke with multiple agents, none of them were able to provide this information over the phone.

Based on our previous experience reporting on similar products, we’ve found that without this information, it is very difficult to evaluate how effective the ingredients may be at combating symptoms of erectile dysfunction.

Based on the information we do have, however, are any of these ingredients proven to help improve sexual function, sustain bigger and lasting erections, or provide a surge in sex drive and energy?

According to information taken from WebMD, Examine.com, and the Mayo Clinic, only L-Arginine has been shown to possibly improve sexual function when taken in daily doses of five grams, although WebMD specifically lists that lower dosages may not be effective.

Potential Z Max Male Side Effects

WebMD, Examine.com and Drugs.com provide insight into several potential minor side effects associated with L-arginine, horny goat weed, ginkgo biloba, and saw palmetto, such as abdominal pain, headache, nausea, constipation, forceful heartbeat, and allergic skin reactions.

Without any specific dosage information, it’s impossible to determine how likely you are to experience any of these adverse effects.

If you are ever concerned with potential side effects due to any current medications you are taking, it’s never a bad idea to consult with a doctor before trying any nutritional supplement for the first time.

Z Max Male Pricing & Return Policy

As of our research, Z Max Male was only available directly off of the manufacturer’s main website for the product. It’s sold as a mandatory “free trial,” requiring that you just pay shipping charges amounting to $4.99 for a 30-day supply of the supplement. This starts your 14-day trial period, after which you will be charged the full retail price of $94.73 and automatically enrolled in the company’s autoship program.

This means that you’ll continue to be shipped monthly supplies of Z Max Male, and you will be billed $94.73 for each one. You can reach out to customer service at any time at 877-725-6802 to cancel, even before the initial trial window is up. In addition to this program, you’ll also be enrolled in a 30-day trial of the FitKloud Nutritional Mobile App, which will cost you $9.99 per month after this period if you do not reach out to the support number listed above to cancel this as well.

As for the return policy, the terms state that each order comes with a 30-day guarantee. You’ll be responsible for paying return shipping, and you’ll need to initiate this process by reaching out to support at the number provided above.

Our Thoughts on Purchasing a Male Enhancement Supplement Like Z Max Male

Z Max Male makes many claims about its effectiveness, but ultimately, they are claims that we’ve seen before here at Highya. We’ve reported extensively on various male enhancement supplements over the years, and in general, we’ve found that these products tend to operate using similar claims, with some even going so far as to use the same website layouts as their competitors.

In terms of what this may mean for you, the Mayo Clinic has issued a warning echoing the one mentioned above by the FDA, stating that these kinds of supplements can have dangerous complications with certain other medications.

To go alongside this, we found that only one of the ingredients (L-arginine) included within Z Max Male has been shown to potentially enhance sexual function in those suffering from ED. None of the others were reported by WebMD, Examine.com or the Mayo Clinic to be able to boost testosterone levels, stimulate nitric oxide production, or otherwise enhance sexual function in a meaningful way.

Pairing this information with the two different recurring payment programs associated with the purchase (should you fail to cancel them on time), as consumers ourselves, we feel that a better first step when seeking a solution to your sexual function issues would be to schedule a consultation with a doctor to speak about them directly.

By doing so, you will hopefully be presented with an effective long-term treatment plan that helps you deal with these serious issues healthily and effectively.
