Never refunded

I purchased what was supposed to be a voucher for an event at Great Wolf Lodge. The voucher number never came. If finally came after the event started. Per Zulily they were going to refund my money. Then I never heard from them. I emailed, called, and messaged them for a month. They finally just said my money was refunded and gave me a bogus code. It was never refunded to my card. Horrible time-wasting experience and I lost $219.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Burned too many times, no more

Sure, the items are quite cheap on the site, but they are also terrible quality.

With clothing, seams and stitches are off, things are asymmetrical, sizes are WAY off, or it's simply not the product that was described on their site. I recently had to order a dress in 4XL, when I typically wear an XL. I also ordered a dress that arrived with a pen mark on the front of it. I can't stress how low quality the merchandise is. Flimsy materials, cheap construction, etc. I'm positive that their merch must be the "irregular" stuff they sometimes sell for cheap, but this merch is more accurately labeled as "highly irregular AND cheap."

But let's say you hit the jackpot on 20% of items you buy. If that were the case, it might be tolerable if they allowed returns for the other 80% of stuff. But they don't allow any returns. That means I've wasted $10s if not $100s on merchandise I can't return.

Furthermore, the shipping is just awful. I placed an order on 8/25 that I received yesterday on 10/10. I placed another order way in advance, on 9/4, for a Halloween-themed outfit, and now they've "missed their shipping date." I'm not confident it will even arrive in time at this point. Their customer service won't promise a shipping date or that it will arrive in time for Halloween. In fact, in the past three weeks, I've received FOUR notices from them that my orders have missed their promised ship date.

Their customer service seems to be quite responsive to issues, but they are not helpful in solving them. I've finally, finally learned my lesson and will no longer make any purchases from them.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Cheap crap

Both products I ordered and received were of inferior quality. They were supposed to be designer quality linens and a designer sweater. I got a crappy Kmart quilt and a printed sweater ala Family Dollar.

I will never order from them again since you cannot return your purchases.

Liars

I have been back and forth with Zulily about a refund on a pair of shoes.

First of all, the size guide was not correct. So I called them to let them know I need to return an item. They said they would send me a mailing label to send the shoes back. They told me to call them when I sent them so they can track the return. And if I called them, I would get the refund for the shoes and shipping. I called them twice and both times I was told they were unable to track the shoes.

A couple of weeks later I get an email saying they received the shoes and I was getting a FULL refund. It even showed the full amount. They gave me two odd refunds but none equaling the amount of the shoes alone. I emailed them at least 8 times, and of course, you don't get them same numbnuts. The answer was the same each time and they make you feel like a total idiots.

I finally sent them a copy of the email that said I was to receive a full refund. So finally they said they would give me the rest of the refund for the shoes only. Which I still haven't received by the way. So Zulily, you can suck it! You rip people off.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

They are NOT the company they used to be

I started ordering from Zulily in 2014. The deals were incredible, and if something arrived broken or damaged (which happened about every third order on average), customer service immediately gave a store credit if they couldn't replace the item AND gave an additional $10 credit for the inconvenience. At the time, they didn't accept returns of any kind. Pretty legit customer service practices, so I never worried about my purchases.

Yes, some items were cheaply made, yes, some items were not quite as described, but for the price, it was worth the gamble to me. Over the past four years, I have spent around $15,000 or more with them. Some things I kept, some I resold if the quality and price point were right. But that all ended recently.

I had noticed a steady decline in both customer service and the quality of the goods over the years. I started receiving items that look like they were returns and had been used, or at the very least opened and repackaged. Fitted sheets that the stitching holding in the elastic came undone after one wash, shoes with scuff marks on them, jewelry that looked like it came from a gumball machine.

When I would receive these items, I would call and explain they were damaged. No problem until they started doing returns. I was told I had to return the damaged items but would not be reimbursed for shipping. Why? I'm not the one who damaged it and their policy before had been to refund and give an additional credit. She said that was the OLD policy and that they would pay for return shipping this one time for me...great...thanks.

I also have to add that I started seeing a lot of the jewelry they sell available on Wish, or the Ali Express China direct ordering apps. These supposed great deals from Zulily, and listed as a third party brand (ZAD and Elly & Ella are two examples), I could get through them for 80% less than Zulily but wait the SAME amount of time for them.

The one positive I will say is this. I will still shop with them for tried and trusted name brands that I am familiar with. I check the Zulily price, then go to the brand's website and see what they are selling it for. With the exception of brand name purses (Kate Spade, Coach, etc., go to Poshmark for better deals), they beat the brand's price on their website and other main retailers usually by 30% or more, even when it's on final clearance. Steve Madden, Modcloth clothing brand suppliers, Crocs, Ann Cole, Lucky and Kut from the Kloth Jean's, etc. They don't always carry these brands and you have to sift through a lot of cheaply made items from China or Taiwan crap, but go to the search feature and see what you can find. Sometimes it's definitely worth it!

I finally downloaded the Zulily app and decided to try this website out. I had heard mixed reviews so I figured...why not. I ordered a maternity dress (for a wedding) that was listed as a sale item and two pairs of swim trunks/shirts for my son that was a flash sale. Sales are important for the buyer because it usually means they have the items at their warehouse/in stock. (I read several reviews that said the shipping was bad unless they have the items in stock/at their warehouse.)

My credit card was billed that day, February 19th, I paid my own shipping costs and chose standard shipping. I was then told my items would not even ship from the warehouse until February 28th. Then I would have to wait another week to get the items in the mail. After realizing my mistake (I will not get the dress in time for the wedding), I looked up the refund policy. I was within the time they could cancel the order because it had not been shipped. I contacted the company a week after the purchase to let them know that I wanted to just cancel the order. 19 emails later the company has taken my money, refuse to cancel the order or refund my money. Not to mention we move in two weeks and they also refused to change the shipping address. They were of no help, in order for them to get around their policy they pushed the order out two days early and said: "oh it looks like your order has shipped." Mind you, it was Sunday night at 8 pm.

I am so dissatisfied with this experience and this company. Never again. Buyers beware, you will have to wait at least a month to get your items! If there is a problem you will receive no help or resolve. The reason I'm leaving a review here is because this company does not allow you to leave review on their website.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Expensive cleaning rag

I wish I could post pictures. I had purchased a previous item and found it to be of very poor quality material but it was basically as described and was acceptable.

The second item I purchased was a Batik Sleeveless dress. The armhole and front neck center point are badly frayed and a front seam has a frayed run 3 inches long by 1 inch wide. Beside being too small, which would've been ok as I could've given the dress to another, but in it's out of the wrapper condition, I couldn't use it for anything but cleaning the floors. I've sent Zulily an email of my complaints and I'm still waiting their response. Absolute trash.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worst shopping experience ever!

I placed an order for the first time and was feeling good (at first) about the money I "saved."

Making a REALLY long story short, one of my items was "lost in shipment," with no explanation. Two other items didn't even resemble what I had ordered. And when I emailed them to find out why my shipment wasn't moving, they responded with some generic email as to "how their shipping works." Thank you for the mild effort, but I'm not illiterate, and I can read your policies. I'm pretty much counting on my other items being "lost," or just flat out disappointing.

I would not recommend Zulily to ANYONE. A complete waste of time.

Slow!

30 days after ordering, the order will be ready to ship. Unacceptable in today's marketplace. I would have never ordered it if I knew it would take this long. They said they have to get product from the manufacturer, then ship. Obliviously they do not stock the items they sell.

Refusal to refund

Zulily charged me twice for an item I had canceled. When I contacted customer support, they said this wasn’t possible but to send them a screenshot of the transactions. I did. They stated these would just fall off my account, but my bank assured me they had been deducted. Zulily won’t issue refunds but continues to send emails as to how they are working on it. I have had to complete a police report stating fraud on the part of Zulily and give it to my bank. My debit card has been shut down, and the bank has reimbursed me. Now I am waiting on a new debit card. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Buyer beware!

Worst online shopping experience of my life!

I have purchased twice from Zulily and received terrible quality clothing. First of all, it took a month and a half to get my order (!) so be prepared to WAIT if you dare to make a purchase. Refunds are only applied to store credit, and you have to pay $8.95 shipping to send anything back. So I tried to spend the store credit and received clothing of terrible quality again, again a month and a half later, only to send it back and be docked another $8.95 for shipping. After three phone calls to Zulily, two folks told me I could get my money back on my credit card and the last one said they all were wrong and I could only get store credit...again. At this point, all of my original money will be spent on shipping inferior products back to Zulily. I will never again shop at Zulily and neither will anyone I know.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
