ZyGenX Review: Efficiency, Ingredients, Side Effects, and More

Claiming to offer a medical strength formula for male enhancement, ZyGenX promises enhanced sex drive and libido, bigger and lasting erections, longer staying power, and increased sexual confidence overall.

The supplement itself claims to use all-natural ingredients, which the creator’s say are instantly absorbed to help boost blood flow to the penis, allowing you to last longer and perform stronger for your partner.

These claims may sound attractive if you’ve been feeling like less of a man in the bedroom, but in order to evaluate how effective ZyGenX will truly be for you in practice, let’s first take a brief look at how the product claims to work within the body.

How ZyGenX Claims to Work

On the supplement’s website, we’re told that it is capable of boosting testosterone levels in the body, as well as stimulating nitric oxide production, which in turn sends a surge in blood flow to the penis, expanding its capacity and improving on-command erections.

The manufacturer claims that the product’s ingredients work naturally to alleviate symptoms of erectile dysfunction, promoting it as an alternative to prescription ED medications and other supplements.

This makes sense in theory, but how exactly does sexual dysfunction cause these issues in the first place, and what does science have to say about how best to treat them? In the following section, we’ll go a bit more in-depth to find out.

Understanding How Erectile Dysfunction Affects the Body

According to the Mayo Clinic, erectile dysfunction is classified as the inability to get and maintain an erection suitable for sex. They list that there are many causes for the disorder, including but not limited to the following:

  • Heart disease
  • Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Certain prescription medications
  • Tobacco use
  • Alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse
  • Sleep disorders
  • Surgeries that affect the pelvic area

They go on to state that emotional and mental issues can also serve to cause problems in the bedroom. Depression, stress, and anxiety can all play a role in your sexual performance, and for certain individuals, the effects can be debilitating.

Of course, age is also a factor in how likely you are to experience symptoms of erectile dysfunction, just as the makers of ZyGenX state. WebMD shows that 40% of males report first experiencing ED-like symptoms between the ages of 60-69. Compared to just 2% of those under age 40, the trend is clearly illustrated.

So, if you’re experiencing these issues, what can you do to curb their adverse effects?

Conventional treatment options include prescription medications such as Viagra and Cialis, penis pumps and rings, and even surgeries and implants in more serious instances. But what about over-the-counter and online supplements like ZyGenX?

As it turns out, the FDA is well aware of these types of supplemental products, and in an update entitled “‘All Natural’ Alternatives for Erectile Dysfunction: A Risky Proposition,” the federal organization doesn’t exactly mince words:

“Products falsely marketed as “dietary supplements” or “foods” that promise to enhance your sexual performance or increase sexual stimulation might contain hidden drug ingredients or other undisclosed ingredients — and can endanger your health.”

The article goes on to state that over 300 different male enhancement supplements have been found to contain undisclosed drug ingredients, including many of the same ones found in prescription-strength products. They go on to mention that you should beware any product that:

  • “Promise quick results (within 30 to 40 minutes)
  • Are advertised as alternatives to FDA-approved prescription drugs
  • Are sold in single servings
  • Advertise via spam or unsolicited emails
  • Have labels written primarily in a foreign language
  • Have directions and warnings that mimic FDA-approved products”

This is noteworthy because ZyGenX claims to be an alternative to “the purple pill,” promising to provide similar results in a prescription-free package. In light of this, we’ll need to examine the ingredients used in its formula in order to evaluate how effective they may be at delivering on these promises.

ZyGenX Formula Ingredients

On the product website, we’re given a list of a few ingredients found in ZyGenX, including:

  • L-arginine,
  • Saw Palmetto Berry,
  • Horny Goat Weed Extract
  • Muira Puma Extract.

What isn’t stated, however, is the dosage amounts in which these are found within the product. There is a product label button on the bottom of the main website, but as of this writing, it appeared to be non-functional.

We reached out to customer service multiple times to attempt to clarify, but all of the representatives we spoke with were unable to provide this information, and a few of them tried to direct us to alternative products instead.

Based on our experience reporting on similar supplements, as well as feedback from our readers over the years, we consider this to be a bit of a red flag. Without knowing how much of these ingredients are used in ZyGenX, it’s extremely difficult to determine how effective they might be at improving your sexual function.

Using only the information we’re provided, however, is there any potential for these ingredients in general? According to WebMD, the Mayo Clinic, and Examine.com, only L-arginine has been shown to possibly improve sexual function when taken daily in dosages of 5 grams, though it’s mentioned that lower doses may not be effective.

Potential ZyGenX Side Effects

WebMD, Examine.com and Drugs.com all list several potential (but minor) side effects for L-arginine, horny goat weed, and saw palmetto, such as abdominal pain, nausea, and headache. Again though, without any dosage information from the manufacturer, it’s impossible to know how likely you are to experience any of these adverse effects.

If you are concerned about the effects of any ingredient (regardless of the product), it’s always a good idea to talk with your doctor before taking a supplement for the first time.

ZyGenX Pricing and Return Policy

As of this writing, ZyGenX was available exclusively from the manufacturer’s main product website. The checkout page prompts you to claim your free trial, which you’ll only need to pay $4.95 in shipping fees to get. In the terms and conditions, however, it’s stated that this marks the beginning of your 14-day trial period.

Once this window is up, you’ll be automatically billed the full amount of $99.99 and enrolled in the company’s autoship program. You can cancel this at any time by calling customer support at 855-214-7304.

Details are scarce as to the return policy on the website, so we reached out to customer support ourselves, and they told us that you have 30 days to return any unopened products for a refund. No opened products are accepted outside of the trial window.

Our Bottom Line

At HighYa, we’ve spent a significant amount of time reporting on various male enhancement products over the years, and alongside the FDA’s warnings outlined above, we’ve learned that authority sources like the Mayo Clinic have warned users in the past that these products can have serious complications when taken with certain other medications.

In addition, despite the fact the L-arginine has been shown to potentially improve sexual function in high doses, none of the other ingredients were reported by WebMD, Examine.com or the Mayo Clinic to boost testosterone levels or improve sexual function in a significant way. To make matters more unclear, we weren’t provided with any dosage information on these ingredients when we reached out to customer service via their helpline.

When you couple these information gaps with the potentially costly autoship program (should you not cancel the trial in time), as consumers ourselves, we feel that better use of your hard-earned money might be to first schedule a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional to discuss the issues you are facing directly.

This way, you can know that whatever solution you end up with will be tailored to your unique needs, ideally ensuring that it’s effective for you in the long run.

    Bad business

I tried ZyGenX. Does it work? Each person must decide for themselves. It didn't for me. I tried to cancel within the 14 days as it states. However, they say there is no record of my account, but I still keep getting billed for it.

The number that is given on the bottom of the ad pages gets you to a machine that does not give any information and the info@zygenx.com doesn't get a response either.

I ordered the free sample bottle and paid $4.95 for shipping and handling. I did not expect them to re-charge my account $99. They are thieves and they should not be allowed to recharge a person's credit without the consent of the consumer.

    Biggest scam ever

Total rip off! Total con! Like an idiot, I responded to a Twitter ad. Nowhere did I see I was signing up for a monthly subscription. That is $100.00, when you can buy a bottle for 30 bucks on Amazon. This all just happened, and even though I've canceled, I'm still going to stop my debit card and have to get a new number. I feel totally violated!

It took a couple of days, but by about day seven I definitely saw results. Harder and size seemed bigger. Mostly sex felt better! I will keep taking; the ad said that you should take a full three months to see max results. I can't wait.

I haven't gotten trial bottle but I have been billed

Please, I have been billed twice (I was excited to try this product I ordered from two different sites), but haven't received my trials. Not only that, I have been warned by my doctors not to take this medication because of my health - renal function problems. I would like my $200.00 back as I have not gotten my trial bottles as of yet and I cannot take your product anyway.
