Gave it one star because what I ended up with in the end was an expensive LED flash light with a built-in laser cat toy, 4 stars from the cat.

This may work for limited in-house barking but does not work for barking at doorbells or dogs at the fence. Unfortunately, I was not able to return the item because the return policy is not posted to the website.

Tried to use the device according to directions. My Shephard Mix was not impressed in any way, with the so-called sound or light show. I have read the reviews and it seems to work better on small animals. Difficult to trust something I can't hear. I would love to see test results from a lab that can detect high-frequency sound. Otherwise, hard to say whether it's a hoax. Customer Service, however, was much more responsive than the device. Refunded the cost and the shipping I paid upfront (not the return) after I requested they do so. No arguments!

It is a great tool. Tried many other products, none worked. This one really works! I would not recommend it if it didn't work.

Much happier now that there is no barking. I can come home now after being gone for a few hours and not be non-stop barked at.

My boy barks constantly at people passing through the hall and I am always yelling for him to get away from the door. Fortunately, everyone knows and loves him and it doesn't bother them ("Hi Oreo!"). When I saw BarxBuddy advertised on a site at work, I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to try it. The first day I got it, he barked at the door and I hit the button. He came running back and went under the bed. Too happy. Now when he barks, I hit the button from another room and he stops. The best investment I ever made. I'm thinking about buying a few and give them as gifts to friends who have dogs.

The email address for a return does not work. The phone number is a sales number. I tried this with my dog and no reaction. The cat played with the laser.

Does not work on my dog. Want to return. Red light only makes her look at the light while barking. It is imperative that this item be returned and a refund issued as soon as possible. Your fast attention to this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

This thing appears to only be a flashlight and red dot light. There is no setting for “sound only.” I tested my theory on both of my dogs by holding it over their heads pointed toward their tails so that they cannot see the light. They only reacted to the click of the switch with no other reaction to any “sound,” even when I held it on for 10–20 seconds. This thing emits no sound unless they cannot hear it 2 inches from their ears. Fraud/scam.

I received the BarxBuddy and tried it right away with our Yorkie who is 7 months old. It made things worse. I tried it with and without the red light. When my dog started misbehaving I activated the product. Immediately my dog started barking at the light, runs away, and comes right back to me. He then starts barking if he sees me holding the BarxBuddy. I am returning this product for a refund. I am not saying this doesn't work at all, just not with our dog.

Don't waste your money. This does not work, at least not for me. Have attempted to use for over two months and unless I am a foot away from my dog I use it at he just continues to bark. Have used commands when this close and it still doesn't work. Too bad I can't get a refund on a defective product.

Tried this device on several dogs and it had no effect. The advertising leads you to believe it will stop any dog barking, it doesn't. It is a cheap piece of plastic made in China with a couple of useless lights in it. Be careful if you order as there is a tab that is well-positioned for you to accidentally hit and end up with a pair of nail expensive clippers. Ended up paying AUS $71.00. Should have used a rolled-up newspaper on my hand, works better.
