Cautiously Optimistic

By Mark McKenna, Nanuet, NY, Verified Reviewer

I'm a 64-year-old man who's used Basis for a month. I've noticed a few changes. I am sleeping more deeply, I'd say 20% better.

Another thing struck me. I don't usually run and haven't for, I'm guessing, a year. The air quality here has been poor all summer. We finally had a cooler day with good air last week. Usually, when I haven't run I go one mile and do okay. This time, when I hit the one-mile mark I kept going and ran two miles. I was a little sore the next day and more sore the second day, as is usual. (I also hiked about 7 miles up and down hills on the second day.) But to run an extra mile was unusual. At the time, it felt totally normal.

So I think something is happening but I don't know what it is.

Not sure yet...

By Peggy, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

I am 63 years old. I have been taking Basis for going on 3 months. I cannot say I notice any changes in energy, mental clarity or skin changes. I almost think I look older since taking it. But who can say? I said I would try for 6 months and will do so. Probably will discontinue after the 6 months. AT THIS TIME, I will not recommend.

Treated fairly

By Mario C., Kingston, NY, Verified Reviewer

I took Basis for a few months and began to have difficulty with my anticoagulation medication. When I notified the company, they were quite gracious and canceled my subscription. I would urge anyone taking anticoagulants to be careful with this product. Other than that problem, I was disappointed that I couldn’t continue.

Cause I felt nothing.

By Jody H., Georgia, Verified Reviewer

I did a lot of research before investing in Elysium, and I was very excited to try it. I have used it for two months now, and I noticed NO changes. Sleep, energy, mental clarity, and skin are all the same. I also had no negative side effects.

Logically, it seems if something is working on a cellular level, there should be some noticeable benefit that can be identified. And how can the dosage be the same for a 250-pound man and a 150-pound woman?

The credentials of the research team are stellar and were ultimately what I based my purchase on. However, without some experienced identifiable improvement, I think I will discontinue use and wait for more empirically based evidence to surface. Maybe I'll take the $60 and get a massage. Now, that's an investment I can feel.

Not great service

By AmyS, Hawaii, Verified Reviewer

I signed up for six months (big mistake). The second order arrived too late, so I was without the product for a week. They didn't respond to my email about it, so I finally called them. For your information, even though the potential for shipping issues remain, they refuse to send the other four bottles I have already paid for at one time. "Oh, we just can't change the way we do our orders."

So buyer beware of this. No refunds, no flexibility. Not impressed with this company. Effects have been negligible to none for two months. If I continue, it's not going to be with this company.

No basis for Basis

By Pat Wales, Colorado, Verified Reviewer

I'm 77 and in good health. I exercise regularly, eat moderately, and drink a couple of glasses of wine most days. I took a half-dose (1 pill daily) of Basis by Elysium for six months and noted no changes to energy, dreams, or general health.

On the other hand, I have recently experienced more tender skin; if I brush by an object or am scraped by something my skin is easily scratched or torn, leading to an ugly blue bruise. To combat this, I've cut back on taking the prescribed baby Aspirin I've taken for years. This problem may have no relationship to the Basis, but it doesn't support the claim that the supplement is making me younger at the cellular level. I don't plan to continue taking Basis.

Can get the same thing far cheaper!

By Matthew S., Boulder, CO, Verified Reviewer

I read all about the benefits of increased NAD+ and ordered a 6-month subscription. Why I did not do any due diligence is beyond me. I have since learned that you can get the same ingredients in supplements FAR CHEAPER using Amazon and other sources.

Fair warning: I'm only one month (one bottle) into the 6 months subscription and they claim online the "cannot" cancel and refund unused portions of your subscription! This approach is borderline scam.

I won't speculate as to whether or not the ingredients do what people say. I only intend to help others not make the same very expensive mistake that I did.

Elysium and weights

By Tim H., Sharon, PA, Verified Reviewer

I have taken Elysium on and off over the past couple of years and have had the same results each time. I lose a lot of strength when taking Elysium, this has happened each time I start taking it again. My skin, hair, etc. seem to improve, but my strength really takes a hit.

My unprofessional opinion is that it increases estrogen levels and as a male that is not what I am looking for. Again, this is anecdotal, but the loss of strength has happened every time I start back on Elysium.

They make it difficult to stop automatic shipments

By trudy glone, Verified Reviewer

I didn't think I signed up for automatic shipments, but I guess it's part of the program. They don't answer the phone, they don't call you back when you leave a message. Their customer service is awful, giving you the impression that it's all about the money to them. It feels like a scam to me, and I've noticed no difference from taking the $50 a month pills.

SCAM! Tried to cancel and they just keep sending.

By Reno, CA, Verified Reviewer

After seeing no benefit from the Basis product and finding that I could get the same mix at Amazon much cheaper, I started trying to cancel my monthly subscription. 4 months, 5 emails and 3 phone calls later they still are shipping to me. I am going to try BBB, small claims court, and ask my credit card company to cancel any future payments. Note that some time ago I sent them a message asking about a competitive product, the answer was misinformed and showed no knowledge of their product or any other.

Did NOT do anything it claimed to do!

By Cynthia A Taylor, Lodi, CA, Verified Reviewer

I purchased the 1-year program in July of 2016.

I have some health issues including nerve damage to my left ear, neuropathy, and brain damage.

This supplement claimed to reverse or improve my situation. It was like taking a placebo except, my MD has now referred me to Nephrology, as my MD believes this supplement has caused damage to my pancreas, liver, and kidneys.

Not all medicines are for everyone, and that goes for supplements, too! I did try and call them but got a voice mail saying they would call me back. I called during office hours: 09:00-17:00 EST today. I'm thinking a small claims court filing should satisfy at least the cost of the product that has done this damage to my internal organs.
