I used this when it first came out. I have used other products however some have an unpleasant odor.

It worked perfectly well until they changed the formula.

Now if I use it hair turns red/ginger.

Avoid this product until they sort the formula out again.

I agree that trying to get the results on the package is more difficult now that it's a 4 oz and not a 5 oz tube for the same price. So I had this idea where I removed the cap of the empty tube, grabbed a different bottle of shampoo (I believe I paid about $3 for an 18 oz bottle) and I slowly squeezed the full bottle into the tube until it was full again. I expected it to come out the same color that went in (light green) but it came out jet black. I used it until it was all gone again and noticed that I was able to maintain the color I had. Not sure this will work for others, I feel I got more of my money's worth.

Going bald suddenly since using this. Very unhappy and not worth it in the long run. Using caffeine shampoo now and hoping for the best. Will never use again.

Used this product for years with great results and some great compliments from friends saying how it took years of me.

Not anymore. The only comments I get now is, "Why have you changed your hair color to Ginger?" Oh dear, not good.

This has knocked my confidence to no end. Someone came up with the stupid idea of changing the formula and now they will be losing lots of money because like many of you I spent alot of money on this product and now they've lost me as a customer.

I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it’s been fantastic. Why have they changed it? I bought one from Amazon and thought it was the blonde in the wrong bottle. I bought another one from a chemist and it was the same. The foam isn’t the normal purple and it started turning the grey yellow. Even my normal darker hair started going lighter. Total disaster. I’m gutted. Bring back the old formula.

I started using this product about 6 months ago. I was very happy with the results. About four months into using this, I noticed my hair started falling out on the top of my head and also causing a receding hairline.

I did not associate this issue with the shampoo at first. It was around the same time that I noticed that my roots were gray while the ends were the color I wanted. My hair length is about 2 and 1/2 inches in the longest area. The sides which are the shortest no longer take the color. It is nearly completely gray.

My daughter works in the hair business and tells me this product is likely causing my hair loss. I started taking Finasteride twice daily about 5 years ago for light hair loss. I also started using Rogaine at the same time. I have had no noticeable hair loss during these 5 years. At least, not until I started using this product.

I noticed that after using this product for approximately three months I began losing hair at a much more rapid rate than normal. I stopped using it and the hair loss appears to have returned to normal.

I bought Control GX Shampoo to reduce graying and ended up losing hair instead. The problem was slow to start and by the time I realized it was the shampoo I had gone through an entire bottle.

If you purchase this product and you notice more than normal hair loss in the shower or the sink area STOP using it. Do not fool yourself into thinking it natural hair loss.

The product used to be brilliant, but since the new formula was introduced the shampoo is useless. I wanted to darken my grey hair, not go ginger!

New formula doesn't work, sends your hair orange in patches, causes skin irritation and an itchy scalp. Also affects your eyes and causes dry eyes.

Old formula was very good.

I was using Control GX beard wash, lasted five years, it was so good. However, the new Control GX is so bad, it makes my face itchy, with a rash, and no color.

New Control GX is the worst experience.

Old is gold.

Like many others in here, I used the original Control GX for several years with good results until earlier this year when I got a severe rash on my face and itchy scalp and neck. After a long process of elimination of other products used and medications that I am taking post-cancer treatment, Control GX proved to be the cause. It is very concerning that an existing successful product be changed without any additional warning on the product. No alert to existing customers to take a new skin allergy test of the "improved" formula. Be very very careful with this product; it is dangerous and should be avoided.

If you want to go from grey to insipid ginger, this is the product for you.

It used to be good but they changed it and now you will look like you've got a ginger Tom cat on your head, especially under lights.

I used Control GX for over 6 years and I loved it. I could control the color of my hair with the frequency of use. In the last few weeks, I noticed that there are some areas of my hair that simply do not get the color and also it seems that Control GX is not as effective as it used to be. After looking at the reviews it seems that this is related to a change of formula in the product.

Not sure if this is the reason or not, but the product is not working for me anymore, the same way it was working before.

Not just for men. Women can use this too. I am over 80% grey and using this product 3 to 4 times a week leaves my hair darker, well-conditioned, and looking natural. Much easier to use than hair color and does a perfect job of reducing the grey to almost nothing. Leaves just enough grey to say ‘my color doesn’t come from a box’, it’s natural.

The company sent me another new formula shampoo that was just the same as the first new formula they made. Then they said that they had corrected the formula, so l tried it again. l must admit it was better but now you cannot buy that formula.

I like this product, after using it for over a year I feel now the company got bought out by Just For Men they reduced the size from 177ml to 118ml for the same price or more in some cases, it was already an expensive shampoo and now it's just a rip-off.
