What Happened?

By James Howard, Barie, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

The 1st time we used the pan it worked as seen on TV. The second time my wife used it she cooked back bacon. Well, the non-stick surface in no longer none stick.

My wife keeps the pan separate and does not allow it to hit the sink, even still the bottom has severe scratches on it. We have a glass top stove. The pan looks like a paper thin copper coating over aluminum. There are no scratches on the interior so far (4 uses).

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Copper Chef requires low cooking temp, TLC

By Chuck Megibow, Nottingham, Maryland, Verified Reviewer

I bought the Copper Chef pan 3 months ago. I have used it to cook eggs, meats, pasta, and fry foods. I noticed that items tend to stick if high heat is used for cooking. I have an electric range, and simply setting the heat to at or below medium eliminates food from sticking. It may take a bit longer to cook, but foods will simply slide out. I made a cheese omelet and found that the egg began to stick to the pot when I cooked it on medium high heat. Another time I used a setting below medium heat and there was no sticking. I would recommend lower heat to avoid food cooking too fast and sticking. I have cleaned the pot by hand, an easy job, and it still looks new. This pot, in my experience, with a little TLC, and low cooking heat, should last a reasonable number of years. If I encounter problems, I will let you guys know.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Poor pot, and very poor customer service

By Sherrie Small, Virginia, Verified Reviewer

Let me start by saying that the customer service is very poor. They will tell you anything to have you waiting for months and months to get your item. And please do not request a refund because it would take you forever to get it.

The Copper Chef Pan works good on the stovetop, but on the induction stove top, it does not work well. It doesn't cook the food around the edges of the pan. The food sticks, and it says it is nonstick and you don't have to use any oil, but everything sticks to the bottom of the pan. The egg does not slide off like it says it does after a couple of uses.

I highly recommend no one to buy this pan. And please don't ask for a replacement because you will not get it until 60 days after. Also, it took me four months to get a refund on the Copper Chef Pan Once I sent it back, and that was after calling them at least 12 times! They would tell you one thing, and when you call another representative, you get told something completely different.

The customer service is very poor, and I would not recommend anyone to buy anything from Copper Chef. I would not ever recommend it to ANYONE. You will be better off going to a local store and purchase it there before you purchase anything from this company.

Worst skillet ever!

By Mia, Washington DC, Verified Reviewer

This was the first and last purchase!

I bought a 10" skillet, and it is absolutely useless. It does everything opposite of what it promises! This is the worst I have ever used, and even the cheaper non-stick pans are better than this.

Talking to their customer service is even worse. They need to stop scamming people and wasting their money! I hope they go out of business.

Small red Copper Chef pan

By Zulema, San Antonio, TX, Verified Reviewer

I received a small red Copper Chef pan for Christmas. I was so excited that I cured the pan and waited a whole entire day before I even tried it.

Finally, I attempted to make scrambled eggs, and to my dismay, they stuck to the pan and my breakfast was ruined. I was so upset that it took me a week before I tried to use it again.

I attempted to sear my pork chops, but again to my dismay, they stuck and I ended up having to apply a little oil to release the chops.

I used the pan again to make chicken (but I did use butter), and my chicken was surprisingly delicious, and the pan performed well.

Unfortunately, my son-in-law attempted to use it without applying butter and now my once sought after pan sits with my other pans with black marks that I can't seem to remove.

Bottom line, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Brief overview of whether to buy

By Tom Stanley, Gardnerville, NV, Verified Reviewer

I like the pan, and would like to try it, if it wasn't for that darn long handle. Too bad it doesn't have a detachable handle, instead of the bolted on long one. It won't fit in my oven, and the sides are too high for a frying pan. I must admit, because of this, the pan is losing.

Love My Pan

By Carolyn Peters, West Covina, CA, Verified Reviewer

I've read a lot of negative reviews, but so far, I'm very happy with my pan. I've used it about four times and it was wonderful. I may be in for a surprise later, but for now, it cooks evenly and I've had no sticking problems. I've fried cheeseburgers and potatoes with onions; I did use a bit of oil and butter for the potatoes, as I like them crispy on the outside. You need to start with a low flame, until you get used to how quickly things cook. The handle gets hot near the pan, but the handle end was okay without a pot holder. I washed the pan with a bit of Dawn before first use, and I used a sponge with Dawn after cooking to wash. Wiping out with a paper towel works too.

Not that good

By Ronald, Indiana, Verified Reviewer

Had it for about two months now, it does not do what they said it did. It sticks without some oil. You can not cook a lot in it. I would get my money back but I had it too long now.

Don't waste your money

By Jill, South Carolina, Verified Reviewer

The Copper Chef is a fraud. The first time I tried it was with a couple of eggs, they stuck to the bottom so badly I had to throw them out.

I put a ton of oil in there to grill a couple steaks and it worked okay, but steaks burned really badly. My 3rd and final try was with an omelet and it stuck and burned and stained the bottom of the inside of the pot and also the bottom stained also. I could not get the stain out.

For me, as a disabled senior citizen, I really was hoping for it to work, I am on SS and forced to retire so my money is very scarce.

Not happy

By Curtis Hanlon, Homosassa, FL, Verified Reviewer

They work good for some stuff but pancakes stick to them so they are not totally nonstick. I would have spent less money on what I normally get which last 10 years so I could have bought 3 sets = 30 years. Yea that would have been fine. I know better now.

Too expensive for mediocre quality

By Rondi, La Center, WA, Verified Reviewer

I rarely buy from TV but I swallowed the infomercial hook, line & sinker! Way too pricey for what it is. For me, the lid is the problem. There's no rubber gasket (seal) lining the lid, so steaming veggies or anything else --- fuggedaboutit! ALL THE STEAM escapes, which pretty much negates the purpose. If I only paid half the price, it would still be a rip off! BTW, a few people said they complained & were told there was nothing they could do. NOT SO! Federal law requires the maker to refund 100% on any product purchased & shipped. If they refuse, contact Consumer Affairs & lodge a complaint. Consumer Affairs will throw a hefty fine at them.
