Not working as advertised

By Ron P, Mentor, OH, Verified Reviewer

I used it for a few weeks and did everything as directed. Food is sticking, and when I contacted customer service they told me to cook on medium heat only and use oil. WHAT? They advertise to never use oil and never mentioned temp? They told me they recognize an issue with the product and to season with oil before use, and they are putting out new literature on this (LOL). After I told them I needed to talk more, they disconnected me. Do not buy this product!

Copper Chef pans

By Helen, Easton, PA, Verified Reviewer

The pan is not nonstick. It's very hard to clean once something is burnt on it. It's not scratch resistant, and the handles are so long that I can only put one pot on one end of this stovetop and one pot at the other because the handle hangs over. Worst waste of money.

Good for a couple of months

By Regina Anderson, Texas, Verified Reviewer

I loved it for a couple of months, now even bacon sticks. Don't waste your money. I hand washed it every time I used it with gentle care. I've had cheap Teflon pans be non-stick longer than this pan was.

Skeptical, but true

By Ron, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Verified Reviewer

I am totally impressed. The original Copper Chef is true to it's name. There are several scams trying to match the original, but I purchased this one based on a gut feeling. Skip the utensils, as you can purchase them at the dollar store, and they are just as good. I always read the reviews first, and I rolled the dice hoping for a true match. Bingo. I only wish there was another cookbook with more recipes, since I have no mother, mother-in-law, husband or wife to bounce new recipes off of.

After 58 years, I am confident my new Copper Chef square pan will be the secret to cooking for me. To be continued.

Great Pans

By Cynthia, California, Verified Reviewer

I used this pan in a myriad of cooking ways, and I must say this is one of the best pans in my kitchen. I have not given away any of my chefs pans yet, however I'm tempted to do so now. I have fried Chicken, made great french fries, I used it to make lasagna, and other dishes that would otherwise ruin or diminish any other pans. I have made Corn Bread, a full dinner with meat, potatoes and corn on the cob, which turned out excellent!

I would recommend this pan to anyone, who would use it by the directions included. I had a friend who didn't and has posted a negative review as a result. I'm 100% satisfied with my pan, and Frypan which I also purchased.

Poor business practice

By Jessie, Howard Lake, MN, Verified Reviewer

I ordered these pans as a Christmas gift in October of 2016. As of 12/1/16, I had not received the pans, so I called customer service and they said they were on backorder and would be shipped on 12/12/16.

On 12/24-/16 I received a postcard in the mail telling me they are still on backorder and would be shipped on 12/30/16. As of today, 1/14/17, I still have not received the product. So I called customer service again and now was told that they are still on backorder and would be shipped on 2/5/17.

Well, needless to say, I'm not a happy customer. I just canceled the order.

Buyer beware

By Sue Fisher, New York, Verified Reviewer

It worked well for three months, then everything stuck. Even when using butter or oil, it did not help. I loved the pan until it failed. I paid $59.99. What a ripoff. I will contact the company, but I am sure that I will have no luck. I should have known better.

Great products for the price

By Oma Pam, Verified Reviewer

I have several different Copper Chef products. Please note, all my children are grown so my husband (rarely) and I are the only users of the Copper Chef products. By the way, my husband is heavily supervised when he uses MY cookware.

If you follow the cooking and heating directions and do NOT put it in the dishwasher and do NOT use sharp utensils, your pans should last a long time. And for your information, you should never put any pot or pan in the dishwasher, ESPECIALLY if it has any type of handle (99% do). They should always be hand washed for longevity, no matter the brand or the cost. Most (if not all) manufacturers bank on people not using exactly as per the directions, resulting in sales in cookware every couple of years or so. By the way, I do have cookware that belonged to my grandma and that is still going strong, and she was born in 1911.

If the directions are followed then cleanup (by handwash) is a breeze.

I like how well these pans cook and that I have to add ZERO fat (olive oil or butter) if I choose not to. I will continue to use them daily (I have owned them for more than six months) and I hope I can write the same review five years from now.

Scratches have appeared!

By Eileen Lento, Rocklin, CA, Verified Reviewer

Well, for starters, I only paid $49.99 for the entire set of Copper Chef Pans at Sam's Club. They seem to be doing fine, except, when I was washing the sides of my large square pan I noticed that the copper was scratched and coming off at the crease where the pan goes from the side to the flat bottom of the pan. I don't know how it got scratched as I am extremely careful as to how I wash it and use it. I do not use any abrasive cleaners on it, but I do see aluminum exposed or coming through the scratches on the bottom crease as it turns to go up the sides.

Induction use, well maybe

By Cynthia, St. Louis, MO, Verified Reviewer

I have an induction stove, and as the Copper Chef is advertised to be induction ready, I purchased it.

I was really excited for its arrival because of the size (9.5 inches), the fact that it is nonstick, and height of the sides. But, I found the very fist time I tried, TRIED, to use it that it would only function on the tiny burner on the stove top because of the size of the induction plate. And, because it will only work on the tiny back burner and the size of the pan, I cannot use my large front burner, because the Copper Chef extends over the front burner.

I cannot express how very disappointed I am. I guess I will just use it to bake in. I had ordered this through QVC. It will probably be fine on an electric or gas stove, but the induction cooktop, not so much!

But I will say, I will never go back to an electric or gas stove. The induction top uses less electricity and the temperature does not fluctuate and gets just as hot as a gas stove. It's a learning curve adjusting to it, but worth the trials and errors, and the price.

As to the bottom line and if I would recommend it? Yes, but it depends on your stove.
