Our dog LOVES it!

By Sheila M., Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Verified Reviewer

From the moment we opened the package, our dog has wanted it. She really loves the food and although I purchased it to add to her other food, recommended by our vet, she has managed to pick out the Dr. Marty's and leave the other. We now crush the vet food and mix it in with Dr. Marty's so that she is eating up the vet food as well. We are sure she would prefer just having the Dr. Marty Nature's Blend since she won't touch the other food now unless it is thoroughly mixed in with some Dr. Marty's.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Our shiatsu loves it

By Tim M., Verified Reviewer

Our 12-year-old shiatsu is very picky. With our old food, we had to prepare it a certain way...we added water and extra flavorings. We heated it, stirred it and fiddled with it until he finally ate it. At one point my daughter was actually "spoon-feeding" him! Now with Dr. Marty’s he comes to us and begs for us to feed him. He loves it. Preparation is actually easier than what we had to do in the past. We just add water, mash it up and he runs to the bowl. His energy level has noticeably increased. People have joked about how good his new food must be because they said in all the years they knew him, they never saw him run just for fun. Definitely the best food ever.

Excellent pup food

By Mary S., Texas, Verified Reviewer

Good things have occurred:

1. Max, Ridgeback, no longer throws up after some meals!

2. All 3 pups have nicer breath - Ridgeback, miniRat Terrier, small foundling from SPCA.

3. All 3 pups eat food immediately (except foundling who is still neurotic).

4. Ridgie and Rattie have both lost weight which they needed to badly - Ridgie looks great at 11 and 1/2.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Already recommending it!

By Laura E., Fort Drum, NY, Verified Reviewer

I love this product but not just because my dog loves it, but because I have never purchased a product where I knew the manufacturer cared as much as the consumer. It is very reassuring knowing an expert is helping you take care of your loved ones!

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I am still working on being able to afford a full serving for my dog. Right now I give her just a topping of it every serving but I can’t honestly recommend it to everyone because of the price. I completely understand why it’s priced the way it is. Nothing worthy would be cheap but most of us do have to incorporate the food price into our budget.

It is totally worth it though! I don’t have to give my moonlight her allergy medicine which costs $80 every two months and if she had a reaction I had to give extra doses. Can’t wait to give this to my baby girl full time and see the results!

I think it’s worth the money. Adele loves it!

By Paul M., Dayton, OH, Verified Reviewer

I have been feeding my 11-month-old Australian Shepherd Adele Dr. Marty Nature's Blend for about six months. Adele loves the food without question. She is an Aussie so energy levels are hard to tell if there’s any changes or advantages. What I will say is her coat is fantastic, she has regular firm BM‘s that there is a definite link to when she eats Dr. Marty‘s. I have run out once and when she is being dog-sitted, sometimes they forget to mix her food and I see a change in her #2s. She loves the food dry, so I supplement the food with one cup Dr. Marty’s, and one cup of another high-grade dry food morning and evening. This helps cost and she loves working to the bottom and getting to the Dr Marty’s morsels first. It’s mental stimulation, sorting her food too, so I think it helps her in that area as well. She always has water available and she seems to love it this way. I would have to say that after 6 months of continual use, that I am sold on the product. Only time will tell, but having lost another Aussie at age 8 to cancer, I am more concerned and focused on providing my companion the best.

Molly and Nature’s Blend

By Margaret B., Manchester, MD, Verified Reviewer

I have noticed Molly, my 9-year-old Jack Russell, has not gotten sick and eating grass to vomit. Her coat is smoother. She seems to not have as much bad breath. Also more playful. I still top her old food (performatrinUltra, Grain Free, which has turkey, lentil, duck in it) with your food. She is a very picky eater.

Bindi is in love with Dr. Marty!

By Kathleen J., Verified Reviewer

Bindi is an adorable white Shih Tzu who is VERY picky. She has rejected many others!

But, when Dr. Marty’s arrived and we opened the bag she was clearly excited. To her it smells delicious.

She had her vet appointment yesterday - a perfect checkup. She’d previously had a little lump we were worried about but the lump is nearly gone (the vet almost couldn’t find it as it is barely there).

I was concerned about ordering an entire bag because she’s a tiny dog - but she’s so happy and healthy with her new food that we already need to order more!

Love and appreciation from Bindi.

Love this product

By Nae J., Hampton, VA, Verified Reviewer

My pups love this product, I was skeptical but they made a believer out of me. I slowly introduced it to their diet and they can’t get enough of it. I have not made this their entire diet yet but I will eventually.

I was hoping

By Lawrence B., Covington, WA, Verified Reviewer

I have two small dogs, both adopted. One dog is part chihuahua and part beagle, her name is Misty. The other dog is part chihuahua, part poodle, and part spaniel. His name is Baxter. Misty, who has been a finicky eater, has become very attached to your food and loves it. However, Baxter is the dog I am concerned about. Baxter, on the other hand, who normally likes all dog foods, but only seems to tolerate yours, sometimes skipping the entire day without his food until the following day when he is very hungry. It’s almost like the two dogs changed roles.

After reading and watching videos of Dr. Marty talking about his food, I thought I would give it a try. Even though it is a bit expensive, but most freeze-dried dog foods are. The reason I purchased Dr. Marty’s food was twofold.

1) Dr. Marty had mentioned that dogs really love his food. Being Misty is such a finicky eater I thought I would give it a try to see if she would enjoy it (which she has). Mission one accomplished.

2) Dr. Marty also mentions seeing dogs' skin issues clear up. Baxter has had skin issues ever since I adopted him when he was about one year old. I received six bags of Dr. Marty’s dog food approximately 3 weeks ago after considerable delay. The dogs are now halfway through their third bag of the food. As of yet, I have seen no change in Baxter’s skin condition. I was hoping this would finally solve his problem, but as of yet, I have seen no change. Having taken Baxter to many veterinarians and spending a lot of money, there still weren’t any positive results with his skin problem. I was hoping Dr. Marty’s food might resolve or help with his skin irritation, but no noticed differences. Perhaps I need to give Baxter more time before I will see a difference in his skin condition.

Thank you.

More get up and go!

By Tina P., Georgia, Verified Reviewer

With her very first bag of Dr. Marty Nature's Blend, Emmie's bowel movement was gigantic, as if all the bad stuff in her tummy was being pushed out by the good stuff. From then on, it returned to normal, but elimination was much easier, with no straining and she now goes every day with no problem. She also has more pep and energy and runs everywhere. I have now ordered another three-month supply for her. She is twelve years old, so I want to give her the best chance at a full and healthy life.

Tummy ache

By Bianca M., Las Vegas, NV, Verified Reviewer

My chihuahua has been on Dr. Marty's for over a year, then he suddenly started having bad gas/stomach pains. I called the company and asked did you change the formula? I was told yes. Don't you think you should have told us? I'm now thinking about Spot & Tango dog food.

Length of Use: 1–2 years

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons

My chihuahua really likes it, I want him around for a long time

5 stars if you left it alone

Changing your formula, dogs are not like us, if it's not broke don't fix it

Company Response from Dr. Marty Pets

Oct 1, 2020

Hello Bianca. My name is Kat and I am with Dr. Marty Pets. I am sorry to read our reformulated Nature’s Blend did not agree with your dog. Nature’s Blend was reformulated to add four new ingredients: kale, broccoli, sunflower seeds, and dried kelp. We are also proud to say that 81% of Nature’s Blend’s new formula is made up of real cuts of meat. Nature’s Blend only uses natural ingredients and no dyes, so there is always variation in the color and shape of Nature’s Blend. An announcement was sent to our subscribers in January 2020 about the changes. I would like to offer you a refund on your order as a courtesy for your trouble. Please email me at kat@drmartypets.com so that I may get started on your refund right away. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
