Old and happy

By Bonny L., Rancho Mirage, CA, Verified Reviewer

My dog Polly will be 19 years old next month. Her younger sister was 15 when she passed away last May. Polly started to not eat the food we had given her, her entire life and I thought, "oh no," she is on her way to join her sister in doggy heaven. That same day there was a pop up on my computer about Dr. Marty's food. I watched the entire video and almost did not order the food when he said, "the hardest part of your day will be the three minutes you have to wait to re-hydrate the food." I thought to myself, that is crazy! Well, I have to tell you that he was right. My 18-year-old dog screams at me to feed her! It is really true and absolutely amazing but I think my 18-year-old Polly may go another 18 years so she can continue to eat Dr. Marty's food.

Rufus eats now

By Lee J., Long Beach, CA, Verified Reviewer

Rufus is a fourteen-year-old mix of Terrier and Australian Sheepdog. I adopted him from a local shelter when he was three years old. He has always been timid to eat his food. In fact, I have to stand by the bowl while he eats. I have to continue to praise him while he eats most of the time. However, ever since I've been mixing Dr. Marty's blend of dog food into his bowl he goes after his food without being coached and seems to love it because now he eats a small bowl in the morning and night!

The other benefit from this product is Rufus's coat seems to be softer and more heathy looking. I have been using it two months now and will continue to use it and of course tell others.

So far so good

By Karl K., Winder, GA, Verified Reviewer

First off, I want to say my 13-year-old 20 lb Jack Russell/Chihuahua has bad allergies, irritable bowels, and onset of joint problems. I was extremely concerned with how the food would sit with her. You should always start new food by mixing it with the old stuff to acclimate it. Well, after mixing it with her current food for 2 weeks now I am seeing a remarkable difference in Haley. Her allergies are disappearing for the first time ever! She also has so much more energy she wants to play ball all day. I have studied human nutrition for 10 years now and discovered it was the only way to truly heal myself. Well, guess what...the same was true for my best friend.

Company Response from Dr. Marty Pets

Aug 21, 2019

Hello Karl. My name is Kat and I am with Dr. Marty Pets. I am happy to read your review of Nature’s Blend. I am sure it must be such a relief to see your dog bursting with energy. When it comes to switching from your dog's current food to Nature's Blend, we always advise to do this gradually. Otherwise, a sudden change could lead to digestive issues and an upset tummy for your pup. Be sure to keep an eye on how your dog is doing with the transition, as results may vary. Dr. Marty Pets works hard to provide optimal nutrition using human-grade ingredients. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at kat@drmartypets.com. I would love to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to review Dr. Marty Pets. I wish you and your Jack Chi a wonderful day.

Unbelievable!

By Susan P., Keller, TX, Verified Reviewer

Lucy, our 14-year-old Havanese, has been given a Prozac and a pain pill daily for a few years. Six weeks after starting Dr. Marty's dog food she no longer needs the pills. Her coat is now shiny and a better texture.

I had been preparing myself mentally in preparation for losing her-no more. We have found the fountain of youth!

Finicky eater, toy Poodle

By David N., Bakersfield, CA, Verified Reviewer

We've tried everything the markets and pet stores have to offer. Canned food, the best we can buy, and bagged dry food. Shushu would nibble at it if he was half-starved. We even tried the refrigerated stuff, he seemed to like it at first but showed his true colors after a few meals. Being skeptical about every ad I heard about how good a product was, I thought, out of desperation, I would try your freeze-dried raw food. Well, let me tell you, Dr. Marty, Shushu loves the raw food. I first mixed it with his regular can food to get him accustomed to the new food, as you suggested, when he finally came up for air the only thing left on his plate was the canned food. He's been on the raw diet about three weeks, he has more energy and is more playful with his friends. I assume his inside is doing as well as his outside. Dr. Marty, I'm very satisfied with raw food and so is Shushu.

I mix the food with a little extra water, he likes the gravy it makes.

Great, but spendy

By Charles B., Cheney, WA, Verified Reviewer

My German Shepard is allergic to chicken, corn, and all forms of wheat so I took a chance that he would tolerate the turkey in Dr. Marty's pet food and so far he's doing well. Both of my dogs absolutely love this food and eat every bit and lick the bowl when they are done. My German Shepard has even lost weight, but his nervousness has not calmed as I'd hoped it would. I am mixing both dogs food with a no-grain, salmon-based dry kibble to economize, but the price of Dr. Marty's pet food is nearly prohibitive for my budget. I bought nearly $400 worth on my first order to take advantage of his initial-order pricing and without a similar price break on a second order, I'm going to have to look elsewhere. My butcher offers a ground beef and pork scraps that are at least 50% raw meat that is considerably less expensive, but introduces a storage problem that Dr. Marty's freeze-dried pet food does not have. My pet store has sales on limited ingredient canned food occasionally, but otherwise, that too is overly expensive. It's a conundrum.

My do loves it

By Gwen P., Eagan, MN, Verified Reviewer

My golden who is usually a picky eater loves this food. From day one, she now comes running and prances around impatiently until I get it prepared for her. Since she is a big dog and requires more food than a smaller dog, it does get expensive. I have to give her less and top it off with her kibble. I wish I could afford to give her 100% Dr. Marty’s!

Awesome!

By Sharon L., Rockaway, NJ, Verified Reviewer

I decided to try Nature’s Blend because my dog is 13 and had his spleen removed due to a benign mass. I felt he needed extra support for a healthy body. First, he loves the taste and so looks forward to mealtime! Secondly, his coat is so shiny and golden! His mood is happy! He even looks healthier! Has more energy! Thank you, Dr. Marty, for all your research and development of an awesome dog food! Much love! From me and Cody the Yellow Lab!

Happy dogs!

By Susan H., Milwaukee, WI, Verified Reviewer

My two dogs are very picky eaters, and one of them has digestive issues. We have tried many upper shelf dog food brands and researched our vet's suggestions and online information. This is the first dog food where they are actually wagging their tails as I am preparing it! They eat it eagerly, and it has actually been helpful in decreasing the digestive problems of the one. Thank you for making this food available.

Good for finicky eaters

By Penny W., North Carolina, Verified Reviewer

In the past, new food brands were met with skepticism and a turned-up nose from my pooch. Frankly, I expected the same this time, but after the first few days, she began to eat Dr. Marty's food mixed with her normal brand with minimal side glances. I continue to mix Dr. Marty with her regular food and she consumes it without adding water. I am waiting to see if she loses weight following the switch.

2 Great Pyrenes (brother and sister 6 years), 1 mix Husky/Pyrenees (about 15 years, cancer and diabetic), and 1 Chihuahua (age 3)

By Tammy M., Vermont, Verified Reviewer

I have four dogs of various ages, breeds, and concerns. Two Great Pyrenes (brother and sister, 6 years), one mix Husky/Pyrenees (about 15 years, cancer and diabetic), and one Chihuahua (age 3). I cook daily for the old one and one of the Pyrenees as she has arthritis, so she is on an leaky-gut healing diet. I either feed a meal or add as a topper to all dogs. They love it, seems more of a treat than a meal so I have to guard the bag so they don't eat the whole thing!
