Summary

Elite Singles is a dating site that caters to highly educated people seeking to make a longterm love connection. While the concept is promising, there are some drawbacks.

Pros

  • Detailed signup questionnaire lets you specify aspects of your personality and preferred partner
  • Limited daily matches mean you won’t get overwhelmed with options
  • High subscription cost means many users are serious about finding love

Cons

  • Smaller membership base than similar dating websites (eHarmony and Match)
  • Higher subscription cost than similar dating sites
  • No more “elite” members than similar dating sites
  • Limited daily matches mean you might not hit it off with someone right away
  • You can only search the full membership base through the app
  • Low average rating from customer reviews

Site is anti-social

By Monica Morris, Colorado, Verified Reviewer

This non-US based company, EliteSingles.com, is worthless. First, try to contact them. Simply you cannot call them after you join unless you want to call Germany. Also, they have an auto-renew policy which other sites have, but again, they are in Germany. Oh yes, you can fax them, how 21st century (bahaha), or write an address in Delaware, but call and speak to a person? NO.

That's right, this site is promoting the ability to "scientifically" match you with the love of your life, daily, but doesn't want to talk, not directly and not to you after you join. Sure, call them when you're registering? No problem. But later they are phantoms without integrity.

I was matched with someone to whom they had assigned a matching value of 40, on the 100-point scale. When asked why, I was told it's their scientific method, and I was given a prescribed answer, which also made no sense. So twice they didn't care. I have had to send at least a dozen emails and contact forms requesting to know if my profile was deleted and if my auto-renew canceled. I am still awaiting an answer on the latter.

DON'T waste your time filling out their nonsensical forms and DON'T waste your money on the likes of these unprofessionals who understand nothing of customer service. Can you say "rip off?"

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It is a scam!

By Dean Hay, Detroit, MI, Verified Reviewer

I read all of the reviews and took a chance on the science professed on the site. The first week I was matched with a guy and singles from across the country. I asked customer service why Elite Singles would send matches outside of my 50-mile preference. Their response was that my preferences were too limiting and they don't have enough members that meet my expectations.

So I "loosened up" my preferences and 90% of the matches are high school education, incomplete profiles, and have no images. After three months, I am starting to believe most of the "matches" are fake including the one named "Bridgitte" complete with a perfect stock image of Ms. Nielsen from the 1980s. Buyer beware!

Horrible

By Kathy Elkins, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Verified Reviewer

After spending an enormous amount of time answering questions, and giving them a lot of money, I get sent nothing but a few "matches" with no pictures. I asked for my money back, and they refused. Don't waste your money!

Deceiving company

By Nisreen, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Verified Reviewer

Elite Singles deceives people; they automatically renew after six mounts the membership with no reminders. It's a scam. I don't recommend.

I was waiting for my membership to end as it's boring and not comfortable, but I am stuck for another six months.

Avoid, avoid.

Big joke

By James Eisenshtadt, Detroit, MI, Verified Reviewer

I got rooked for a 6-month subscription for $209.99. I have not had one match, one visitor, nor have I been shown more than five people from Michigan. I can browse perhaps 30 people all different ages, many with no college education and ABSOLUTELY no attempt to provide me with one thing for my money. When I complained to them, I was told that perhaps my standards were too high. What a joke!

It's a trick

By Joseph, Douglas, WY, Verified Reviewer

They let you set up a site but then you can't look at anyone's stuff or see how many people on there are in your area nothing until you pay their membership fee of $34.00 a month (and six months worth all at once), just to find out there is no one on there that is even close to you.

Worst dating site ever

By Itisha, Byron Center, MI, Verified Reviewer

Cons: super expensive, match-making logic is pathetic, extremely limited option, and after a few days, the site will display previously contacted people as new.

Overall, it's a scam. The site is out several times in a day.

Waste of money!

By Karen Skal, Butter, PA, Verified Reviewer

Absolutely a scam and a waste of money. My “matches” did not fit my preferences at all and were all in different areas of the US. I “liked” a few profiles and I got no responses. As far as my profile, I relatively got no interest. SAVE your valuable TIME, ENERGY, and MONEY. Elite Singles, like other online “dating sites," preys on decent people’s desires and emotions and has empty promises.

It is a fake!

By Eva Z, Manhattan, KS, Verified Reviewer

Profile images are often scanned from magazines and other printed materials or copied from professional businesses (like lawyer and doctor photos), and often ads are forgotten on the margins. You will not get messages, and yours will end nowhere.

When I tried to verify a real person behind a profile I got an immediate response that this site is better than any other and it felt like an automated response rather than written by someone real. Profiles seem to have the same tone and scripture, just changed about 20% from case by case. I suspect they go after your high subscription fee and use your profile later when you leave the site frustrated.

They make money by catching new unsuspecting fish. It is a perfect scam, virtually non-provable.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Elite Singles are pretty much idiots

By Chasman, New Zealand, Verified Reviewer

Yes, unfortunately, Elite Singles are idiots. I don't care about paying $209 for six months BUT the matches are rubbish and utter crap. Sorry to tell you. The worst is, they won't allow you to have your say about yourself. For example, I said I like to spend most of my time mucking around and they did NOT approve that and rejected the comment. And please, some common sense, I am who I say I am.

And wait, there's more. They won't allow you to set criteria for weight. Well, I am fit and want a woman that is similar. My matches were a lot of overweight fat girls. What the heck!? Elite Singles are idiots, just in it for the money and preserving a fake reputation. YEAH, you could meet someone and I agree there are reputable people on there, but only because there is a price to pay and it's not free. That is something positive about Elite; Elite's pricing attracts people that are serious about meeting someone, which shows people are genuine.

Don't waste your money or your time

By Elaine Donadio, Bayside, NY, Verified Reviewer

I joined for six months at a cost of $209.70. There is no one on the other end when you try to contact a customer service rep by email or phone. It's a third or fourth party operation. Eventually, I received a reply that in no way answered my question. They actually asked me to rate their customer service. The nerve!

No receipt or email confirmation is sent when you subscribe. After three attempts, I got an email with the dollar amount, start date, and length of time of membership. No names, not mine, not Elite Singles. No addresses. No customer service contact info. No phone number. No email address. The top of the page I printed had its URL address mostly covered by icons.

No states are mentioned in the profiles, only cities, so members have no idea how far away the other members live. Very often, the website just did not work so I was trying to scroll to search the supposed hundreds of eligible men, but most often only the first ten were accessible.

I believe Elite Singles is connected to Match.com in some way, or pretends to be.

Needless to say, the entire experience was a disappointment and a rip-off.
