Confusion over delivery meant some Christmas presents were not delivered on time BUT the potato vodka made up for it. I think it's a great product. Get your customer service up to speed.

Flaviar is a great service. They sell whiskey at prices that are below what local stores list so that even with delivery it comes out about the same, but you save time driving all over to different stores for some hard-to-find bottles. You order it, and you know you're going to here a knock at the door in a week or so. I usually get more than one bottle so I have one to give.

Flaviar has opened my taste buds to a wider variety of spirits, some that I'd never heard of before. The member prices are better than the state-run ABC stores (often those places don't carry the wonders that Flaviar has for you). All-in-all, really glad to be a member and highly recommend them.

To be honest, anyone that lives near a large city such as myself has access to a huge amount of immediately available (and possibly a tad cheaper) top shelf spirits.

But that's not the real magic of the Flaviar membership. The tasting boxes are where the magic happens. The tasting boxes allow you to sample items that may have seemed out of your comfort zone or that you may have had a preconceived flavor expectation. Nobody wants to buy an expensive bottle to "try" and potentially not like something, and good top shelf spirits will cost you the one month's membership for one drink.

The arrival of every tasting box means it's time to take a pause, forget the corporate grind, kick back and ponder each drink, and decide if it's good enough to commit to a full bottle.

Being new to the art of Whisk(e)y drinking, I have thoroughly enjoyed the membership. It has allowed me to try new brands that I would not have otherwise tried.

Yes, a year-long membership is $210, but I have found it to be well worth it in the first quarter alone. I have received my first sample pack and can't wait to get the next in the mail. I appreciate having someone with more knowledge about the product there to guide me through the experience. I also love the free shipping every month. Just this month I ordered a bottle that sold for $30 more on a different website. I also saved $20 on shipping for a total savings of $50. If I do that every month, that's a savings of $600 a year. The membership pays for itself.

I have also enjoyed the vast number of articles that have greatly expanded my knowledge of spirits. This club has been an eye opener for me. I am throwing my first "bring your best bottle" party soon and have had a huge amount of interest.
